This is for @Contests' contest about being happy.

Today I woke up and realized I'm thankful for all my readers on Wattpad. Notice I said readers and not reads. Though I do appreciate the reads and votes I get, this isn't about them. This is about the people who take time out of their busy day to sit down, read, and vote for each chapter of my stories. 

Ever since my book "Glitches" started to gain popularity, I've been replying to those who read and vote for it with a cursory "thanks for the votes on Glitches :)" or "Thanks for the reading list add." Don't get me wrong, I was never insincere, but I feel that I haven't giving these wonderful, supportive people the time and thought they deserve. As my story reaches more people and I get more and more votes and comments every day, I don't want to start taking them for granted and not replying or sending a quick thank you DM like so many popular authors sadly do. 

I've been writing since long before I even knew Wattpad existed, and I was always eager to share my work with family and friends. While they were extremely encouraging while I wrote my first books, it's completely different to put your work out there for strangers across the world to read. I started to receive different, helpful feedback from fresh eyes and minds when I started posting my stories here, and it has honestly helped me with my writing more than any course at school. 

I have only recently realized what a great help and motivation every single reader has been to write the next chapter, to keep going, as well as to improve my writing style and descriptive language. I would not have forty mostly grammatically accurate chapters of Glitches written as well as a completed prequel without each one of them. 

Nothing makes me happier than checking my Wattpad notifications and finding that someone has left a compliment, a prediction, or a suggestion on one of my chapters. I have always responded to these as soon as possible, but only because comments excite me. Before today, I haven't really thought of it as a way to say thanks to those people who care enough to drop a comment on my story. 

From now on, though, if you ever receive a thank you message from me for supporting my book in any way, know that it is genuine and heartfelt, and though it is just a simple one sentence note, I have put thought into every word. You are the reason I keep writing, your comments requesting me to upload the next chapter are my drive and motivation on those days I don't feel like writing, and you are worth anything I could do for you in return and more.
