The nine-year old with curly blonde hair gave a toothless grin as she chased her older brother around the house.

"Give it to me! You always get the last blue cookie, Charlie, it isn't fair!" 

"You took it last time, Zoe, it's my turn now!"

"No! Give it here!" Giggling hysterically, they ran all over the living room.

Their brother Luke looked up from his book sternly. "Zoe, Charlie, sit down and compromise. Mom and Dad are coming home soon and they'll have a fit if they see how messy the house is." He stared at them with his storm-grey eyes.

"Okay, okay," Zoe whined. She sighed as Charlie handed her half the cookie.

Just then, the door opened and a woman with Zoe's hair and Luke's eyes walked in. She was carrying a laptop, a book and notebook and pencil. Her eyes brightened as she saw her children.

"Hi, Mom. How was work today?"

"Great!" Annabeth Chase-Jackson replied. "They asked me to design a new building. I have so many ideas for it. It'll have glass windows, an arch at the entrance, and--" she furrowed her brow. "What do you think?" she asked, plopping herself on the sofa next to Luke and showing him a sketch.

"It's great!" he replied enthusiastically. Out of Annabeth's three children, Luke was the only one who had her love of architecture. The other two rolled their eyes when the topic was brought up. 

"Mommy!" Zoe appeared by her mother's side. "When is Daddy coming home?"

"Soon, darling," Annabeth said, stroking her daughter's head. "I think he's staying a bit longer today. Make-up lessons or something."

"Awww!" Her father worked as a part-time swim coach in the community centre on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Occasionally, during his free time, he would bring his kids to the local aquarium. Zoe had been hoping for a trip there today.

"On the bright side," Annabeth smiled, "we're going to visit Uncle Jason and Aunt Piper this weekend!"

"Will Uncle Frank and Aunt Hazel be there too?" Charlie asked hopefully.

"As a matter of fact, yes! All their kids will be there too, so you can have someone to play with!"

Annabeth stared into the distance, lost in the past. She wished Leo could be there too. But he was dead, and it was time she moved on. Piper and Jason had never been the same after his death, though...

She was startled out of her thoughts by a loud exclamation.

"Daddy! You're home!"

Percy Jackson stood at the doorway with a smile on his face. He reached up to hug Zoe.

"Daddy, Mommy says that we're going to Aunt Piper and Uncle Jason's this weekend! Does it mean we can swim at the pool? Can we?"

"Sure, sweetheart," he laughed. He walked over to the couch and kissed Annabeth on the cheek. 

"How are you, Wise Girl?"

"Just fine. Seaweed Brain," she laughed and threw a cushion in his face.

Suddenly, an ear-piercing shriek sounded.

"NO! NO! NO!"

Upon further investigation, Percy and Annabeth realised that Charlie had found the last blue cupcake and Zoe was trying to snatch it away.

"Not this again," Luke sighed as he buried his head in his book once more.

Looking at the scene before him, sounds of laughter in the air, Luke reading with an expression so like his mother's, Annabeth beside him--Percy felt the happiest he had been in many years. This was what it was like to be a normal, perfect family.

Some day, maybe, when they were older, he would explain his past, his experiences, his heritage. He would bring his children to Camp and let them be trained. But not now. For now they would just be together. One day, he would tell them.

One day.

A/N: I know it isn't that great, but this one makes me really happy :3 Also I type in British English, not American English, so some spelling of words may be different. Also I know this is really really short and I honestly did not know what else to write. But hope you enjoyed it anyway :)
