I was pacing back and forth in the tent where had finished getting dressed in my wedding dress. I wanted to run, I don't think I'm ready for such a big step in my life. It still feels unreal that I'm about to get married to my boyfriend, Brian, of eight years. All my life I've been alone until I met him and I know he's the one but my nerves are getting to me. Brians sister, Cassandra, tried to get me to calm down but that wasn't doing the trick so she ran off to get some help. 

I can't do this, I thought I could but I can't

I spun around on my heels and picked my dress up in my hands so I could run out of here, hoping that I could go unnoticed. But as soon as I took one step forward, Brian walked in through the flap of the tent. I stepped back in shock, not expecting Cassandra to call him here. He had his usual charming and sweet smile on his face, the same one that makes my heart melt every time.

You don't deserve all of this, you're not worthy

"There's my beautiful bride" Brian greeted. My lips twitched up in a small smile.

"The groom isn't supposed to see the bride before the wedding" I quoted what Cassandra kept telling us for the past week. Brian chuckled before reaching his hand out and brushing a strand of hair that had fallen from my bun that the hairstylist had to do behind my ear.

"Cass tells me that you're having second thoughts" Brian stated. I sighed, looking down to avoid eye contact. He tilted my chin up to look him in the eye. "Want to talk about it?" He asked. 

"I'm not worthy of all this, of you" I admitted. Brian sighed and pulled me into his embrace. I wrapped my arms around his torso. 

"What did I tell you the moment we met?" Brian asked, knowing the answer.

"That you thought I was beautiful" I mumbled. I felt his chest vibrate from his laughter.

"I mean yes but that's not it, I said that I would take care of you and that you would never be alone again," Brian said. He did say that, funnily, after I tried to steal from him but he caught me and took me in.

"I know you're nervous but that doesn't mean I'm not either but what reassures me is the thought of spending the rest of my life with you," Brian said, cupping my face in his hands and resting his forehead against mine. "You're not alone on the streets anymore Melody, I'm going to be there with you every step of the way to watch you succeed," Brian said quietly. I took a deep breath.

"Fine, you're right, thank you," I said, smiling. Brian smiled back and pecked my lips.

"Ready to get married?" Brian asked. I nodded eagerly.

"Damn right I am!"
