Fridays have always been her favorite day of the entire week. Especially now, since it was summer. This friday was special. Actually, it was marvellous.

It all began with standing up and getting a hot shower without the water suddenly turning cold. She seized every second of that shower and enjoyed the sweet smell of her favorite soap. While getting dressed, she checked her EMails and discovered a new unread message from a company where she desired to work. They had invited her to an interview, which had surprised her, since they only invited every fifth person, who took part in the written test.

She shared the news of her interview while drinking coffee with the employees of her father's bakery. They had all been very close and she considered them family. Every morning they drank coffee together and gossiped about the newest discoveries in their village.

Normally, she never got a newspaper, but this day, her neighbor gave her his. He was a alcoholic and the payment was a shot of booze. This might not be considered good, but it was better than him stealing beer from the other neighbor's shed. Reading the newspaper, she discovered two of her friends, Mike and Max in an article. They had finally got their farmer apprenticeship done and they were the best of their class. She had already known that, but it was still a big deal to have an article in the local newspaper.

After coffee, she went for a walk with her dog. He was incredibly good this day and did not even try to catch a bird, like he normally does. It was as if the whole world was good today.

She spent most of the day working for a club in her village, since they had a big party soon and she was one of the leaders of the club. Nobody even tried to annoy our lucky girl of the day and she enjoyed the whole day even more.

Around 6 p.m. she went to her riding lessons and got her designated horse ready for riding. It was her favorite horse today. A pony, which was pretty big and colored in black and white. He was a good horse and she enjoyed every time when she was able to ride on him. On this particular friday, he didn't even try to throw her off, which he often does when she wanted to canter. Afterwards, she cleaned him up and gave him the carrot, which he always got after a riding lesson.

Nevertheless, the day was not done yet. She had already made plans with her friends to meet in a small cabin near the woods. This day, she was the designated driver and picked up Mike, Max and Veronica. Max and Veronica had just started dating and spent almost every minute of the day together.

At first she had to pick up Mike, whom she had liked for quite a while now. He was completely honest about everything and he had strong opinions which made him a great partner for discussions. She always enjoyed the ten mile drive from Mike to Max. It was always a nice talk. They talked about everything.

As soon as Max and Veronica entered the car, they complained about her smelling like horses and Mike smelling like a farmer. Mike always helped around at his father's farm whereas Max only worked at some farm and had a schedule. Mike and our protagonist laughed it off. They hadn't even notice the smell. After a five minute car ride, they arrived at the cabin and took a look in her trunk. Next to dog leashes and horse accessories there was a great amount of alcohol. A few six packs of beer, two bottles of Vodka and even one bottle of Asbach. Asbach was the favorite booze of Max and Mike whereas the girls prefered Vodka or Jägermeister. Next to the alcohol there were a few bottles of Cola and Sprite. "You know it is only us four, right?", Mike asked her and looked like she had lost her mind. "Yeah Mike, and you know that I always carry some booze around in my car in case of a sudden emergency" she told him. Max, with whom she had never discussed anything like that, was still confused, "And what emergency would that be?" She sighed and explained the reason: "Well, sometimes you go to a friends house and want to celebrate something. Or a friend has just broken up with her boyfriend. If I decide to be the designated driver and we need to pregame a little. You know, the typical".

After a few runs, they had put everything in the cabin and started to light a bonfire. Everybody already had something to drink in their hands. "What's the occasion for drinking today, except the fact that it is Friday?" Veronica asked. "Haven't you seen Mike and Max in the newspaper today? Congrats Boys! Plus, I got the Interview", she told them smiling. They all congratulated her on that achievement and they discussed the newspaper article. After a while they decided to play some games like spin the bottle and truth and dare, but after a while, Max and Veronica disappeared in order to make out properly.

Mike looked at her and they started their ritual and talked about the craziest things. After a while, he said: "You know, I really want you to get that job, since I know how much you like travelling around. You will probably see the whole world and even know it, since you can always stay there for three years. But I will really miss you. Our talks, our adventures to McDonald's and everything else". She looked at him and he looked at her and they both just knew how much they meant to each other. Slowly, he leaned forwards and kissed her forehead, while whispering something almost inaudible.

"I will always love you, Ash".
