Hey, everyone!

Okay, for this contest we're going to pretend we're secret agents (literary agents). Follow these rules exactly (when querying if you don't follow the submission guidelines, agents will toss your submission in the trash) to win a critique on your story.

All submissions must be commented in this chapter. Do not direct message them, post them on our wall, or comment them in another chapter.

Your submission must begin with a 40 word pitch of your story followed by the first 100 words of your story.

Your story must be science fiction.

Your story must be in English.

Do NOT include the title of your story.

Also do not change your username during this contest. If you do, then your story may be disqualified as we are keeping track of submissions by using your username.

Submission window is open from July 31st to August 14th at 4pm EST.*

The first judging period will be August 15th to August 23rd where the SciKick team will come together and each vote for their top five submissions. The overall top fifteen stories will have their first chapter read by the judges from August 24th to September 2nd. Again judges will each select their top five, and the story with the most votes from the judges will be declared the winner, and the author of the winning story will win a critique from SarahPerlmutter on their first chapter!**
