Hello lovely sci-fi fans and writers!

We have the perfect initiative to start the New Year with a BANG! Namely, it is time for new beginnings and, yes, you guessed it, new stories!

So, starting January 2017, we'd like to urge you all to start a new story on Wattpad! It could be something you have been meaning to post for a while, but never really felt ready or brave enough. Now is the time! Or you could go ahead and start book 2 or 3 in your series. There is no time like the present!

The rules of this initiative are simple:

- Post the blurb and chapter 1 (at the very least, then feel free to add new chapters at your own pace) - do this starting 1st of January, until the end of the month.

- It MUST BE a science fiction story.

- Tag 3 Wattpad friends in your first chapter and challenge them to participate by posting their own new story!

- In the tags of your story, include #SFnewstory2017! This way, readers will find your story easier and we will also add it to a public reading list!

- Inform your followers about starting your new story and ask them to give it a go!

- In February, the SciKick team will announce the story with the most votes. The author will win a detailed critique of their first chapter by a SciKick team member!

- We will also do a SciKick favorites announcement based on reading the blurbs of the new stories and we'll give you a shout-out and an honorable mention. So if you don't have a big fan base, you can still win and get your work in front of the SciKick team and all our followers! So don't be shy, enter!
