Teaser scene:

What the hell had I been thinking?

I couldn't even manage to put in my contacts, my glasses were smudged, my hair was in some sort of rat nest embrangle, I had no workout clothes so my baggy size 16 joggers were low on my hips and my tank top had coffee stains on it.

"You don't look OK," Victor studied me in slight distaste.

He, of course, looked awake and refreshed. His clothes were not the wrong size and stained, they fit well and he made a Rubik's cube of black and white tonalities.

"I got my period this morning," I said.

He closed his eyes and sighed, rubbing his hand over his face. "This friendship thing is stretching the boundaries."

I frowned. "It's life. Men get to stay firm and unblotted and we're cursed to carry their spawn or be punished by bringing the fury of the gods upon our vagina."

He bit his lip, hiding his smile into his hand. "Ok, c'mon, let's stretch. "

"I can't," I whined. "Stretching makes it worse."

"Actually stretching is-"

"Don't you dare explain to me what I go through on a monthly basis based on what you read in a book written, in all likelihood, by a man," I pointed my finger at him.

He held his hands up. "You woke me up at this time, Montana. Stretch."

I watched as he lithely sat down and effortlessly touched his toes like a ballerina before a recital. I took a deep breath and lugged myself down, testing my ability to stretch.

GUSH. Oh god.

INTERVIEW

1. How did you start writing on Wattpad?

I wrote this story in 2019 and I decide it to share it on Wattpad since it was Contemporary Romance and it was not what I was publishing at the time.

2. What was the inspiration for your book "And Then There Was Victor"? If you could describe your story in only three words, what would they be?

A lot of it was inspired by my own experiences growing up, a lot of people I met during that crucial time in my life.

"Friends become lovers."

3. Which details or scenes in "And Then There Was Victor" are most unique and interesting?

I think the scene when her best friend gets pregnant is very poignant and pulled from a very intense moment I also experienced with a friend.

4. If you were a character in your story, which one would you be and why?

The main character Becka, is a lot like I was at her age. Unsure of herself, not seeing herself for how great she was and immature but willing to grow up and change.

5. Do you intend to write another book in the future? What advice would you give to other writers who wish to try writing as well?

I am currently a published author of Adult Feminist Fantasy, I'm currently working on my 3rd book in my series.

My biggest advice to other writers is to actually write. Doing it every day, if you can, even if it's just 50 words. Get to the end of your story and then worry about what you're going to do with it later. Also, reading a lot helps feed the creative muse, the more you read the more you subconsciously learn the story beats and the tropes you'd like to incorporate in your work.
