"so what's up?" she asked him as she sat in her bed. He stayed standing and seemed nervous though he took a deep breath and began to speak

She heard the soft hum of ivy by frank ocean playing from the downstairs speaker as he smiled and handed the gift to her "i got you something else as well and i don't know it's stupid but uhh i just wanted to give it you in private" he explained awkwardly.

She smiled up at him taking it gratefully "it's not stupid at all don't worry"

She opened the gift carefully curious on what it would be. Once she saw it she felt herself blush and she smiled so incredibly hard.

Inside there was a pearl necklace and not just any pearl necklace it was vivienne westwood.

"you're crystal phase is so annoying" malachi complained as mariah was cleaning her crystals.

"you're just saying that cause i'm not giving you any attention" she replied huffing at his constant complaints from around her.

"yeah, so can we please go do something mary" mal begged being done with being indoors and just wanting to get outside.

"fine" she said as she put all of them back in their spots. "omg you know what i really want" she exclaimed as they walked down the stairs getting ready to head out.

He tilted his head at her "what?" he questioned.
"i want to get a pearl necklace so bad" she replied and he looked over at her curiously knowing there was probably a reason for this "i found out that gemini's birthstone is pearl and they're all so pretty" she explained.

"well once i have money, i'll make sure to get you the best pearl necklace i can find" he stated as if it was a fact, she laughed blushing at his comment. He grinned at the way she was smiling at him.

"this must've cost so much, you didn't have to" mariah stated close to tears from the fact that he had remembered her saying that, he was so perfect.

He smiled embarrassed "do you like it? i was scared you wouldn't remember or think it's cringe or something"

"are you kidding me? i love it" she replied grinning at him.

"let me put it on for you" he said and she nodded giving him the necklace. He gently moved her hair to the front his hands brushing against her neck.

She held in her breath as he placed the necklace on her neck and began to try to clasp it closed. She looked down and appreciated how pretty the necklace was and she felt his hands drop once he was done.

She turned around to face him and smiled at him "it's so pretty" she said as she fiddled with the necklace she was now wearing.

"you're really pretty" he blurted out of nowhere and she blushed at his words. She immediately began to look away not knowing what to do but he grabbed her chin and turned her so she was looking at him again.

He sighed mentally preparing himself before speaking "if you're really moving, i need to tell you you this" he said and she looked at him confused and nervous for where this could be going.

"i really like you mary. i mean like a lot and i think i have for years and even though it took me forever to realise this, i don't want to be just friends with you. i want to be able to call you pretty every second of the day to be able to kiss you and tell you how much you mean to me. if you don't feel the same i don't know what i will do but i know i need to tell you this" he said rambling nervous for what her answer was going to be.

She felt herself smile, she couldn't believe his word she felt as though she was dreaming and couldn't believe this was true. This is all she had ever wished for and her stomach was fluttering with anticipation.

"i really like you too mal. I have since we were little children. I've liked for a long time and everything you do reminds me why, your the most sweetest and funniest person i've met. Not to mention you're also incredibly attractive" she replied and he grinned at her words.

"you think i'm attractive?" he teased as he leaned in closer to her face, they were only inches apart now. She rolled her eyes "just shut up and kiss me"

He didn't even hesitate before closing the distance between them. It might sound corny but they both felt sparks fly and in that moment it was just them two. The kiss was sweet and short and once they pulled away they were grinning at each other, there was only a short pause before they connected their lips once more. At that moment they both knew that they will never get enough of the other. They were each other's oxygen and they needed the other around to be able to breathe.

For the first time, mariah didn't feel like she was falling or like everything was going to go wrong. In that moment she felt like malachi had just saved her, he was the lighter making her flame brighter.
