She hadn't wanted a party, all she had wanted was to hang out with her friends for the day so that's exactly what they decided to do and she had no complaints.

They were all chatting and laughing, the vibe was fun and they all had just recently arrived. There were a couple pizza boxes in front of them which they had ordered.

"open my gift!" isabelle exclaimed excited as she gave mariah her gift, she smiled "none of you had to get me anything but thank you" she said feeling bad everyone had spent money on her.

Carla had gotten her some frank ocean posters, which she loved. Ariana had gotten her an album which was filled with photos of their childhood. Enzo had gotten her some clothes which she had sent him when he had asked what she wanted.

Now she opened isabelle's gift and it was a box which was full with all sorts of things. Mariah skimmed through the items noticing snacks, photos and other items. She smiled incredibly grateful "thank you so much belle" belle smiles at her glad she liked it.

Just as she gently put isabelle's gift something was thrown at her and it was elijah's gift in a gift bag. She opened it and found a hello kitty plushie which reminded her of the first time she ever hanged out with the group "aww who knew you could be this sweet" she teased looking over at eli.

He scoffed "don't get used to it" he joked laughing as he rolled his eyes. Her cheeks hurt from how much she was smiling and she felt the smile only grow larger as malachi handed his gift to her which he had kept behind his back.

She gasped at the cuteness of it, it was a crochet bouquet, with also a couple of books which she had been meaning to buy. "i remember you complaining about the fact that real flowers die so quick so uhh here"

"how'd you know i wanted these books?" she asked confused, laughing in joy.

He shrugged "you ramble a lot" he said causally as if he didn't make her stomach swarm with butterflies at the fact he remembered what she had rambled about.

They all decided to watch a movie together as they all argued over what to watch she found herself smiling at how perfect everything was at this moment and how she would never change this.

It was evening time now and everyone was still at hers planning to all sleep round. She got up and walked to the kitchen where her mum currently was.

"how's your birthday so far, sweetie?" her mum asked as she walked into the room, she beamed at her "great"

"i know i said i didnt get you a gift because money has been tight but i actually did" her mum announced seeming nervous.

"mum you didn't have to" she replied not wanting her mother to waste the money they really need at the moment.

"well actually i'd been saving up money to buy us a new home, we are going to be moving riah" her mum announced. She felt her smile drop which her mum noticed. "what's wrong?" she asked.

"my whole life is here mum, i don't want to move" she admitted to her mother who now also wasn't smiling.

Her mum sighed unsure with what to say. "well go and enjoy your birthday with your friends, we'll talk about this later" her mum said smiling at her and mariah forced a smile as she went back into the living room where elijah and carla seemed to be arguing over something while everyone else watched in amusement.

As soon as they noticed mariah they stopped and carla screamed "mariah you're back!" as she jumped up and hugged her. "i was literally gone a second" she replied but that didn't stop carla from hugging her tightly.

"did you get the drinks?" elijah asked noticing her empty hands. She paused and then remembered that, that had been the reason why she had went into the kitchen but her conversation with her mum had made her completely forget.

"oh shit i forgot" she said and everyone laughed though mal caught her eye and asked if she was okay, she smiled at the way he could read her so well but her smile dropped remembering the fact that she might move away.

She always hid away her emotions it was something she was good at but for the first time in forever she wanted to tell her friends what her mum had said. She was scared of their reaction but sighed before announcing to all of them "my mum just said that we are going to be moving away soon"

They all looked at her in shock unsure if she was joking, "i didn't know about this until just now" she added.

"like your 100% moving away?" enzo said speaking up first and she honestly wasn't sure about that so she replied honestly "i told her i didn't want to but i don't know 100% what's going to happen"

She regretted telling them as soon as she noticed how upset they all had become, she hated herself for ruining a happy moment between them all until ariana spoke up shrugging "let's make the most of it while you're still here and we'll make sure to call and visit as often as we can if you do move"

Her words seemed to relax everyone's worries as everyone went back to laughing and messing round, living in the comforting bliss they all gave each other.

Mariah was sitting on the couch laughing at something enzo had just said until she felt someone sit beside herself, noticing it was malachi she sent him a smile. She noticed that in his hand he had another wrapped box and she looked at him confused.

"can we talk?.. somewhere private" he asked and though she felt confused she nodded as they both walked to her room to talk.

"so what's up?" she asked him as she sat in her bed. He stayed standing and seemed nervous though he took a deep breath and began to speak.
