We were walking up to house now, you could tell the party was in full swing. Loud music blasted from somewhere inside though drowned out by people laughing, screaming and shouting.

There wasn't a lot of people on the lawn but the few that were, were scattered around already drunk out of their mind much like belle, who just has they had gotten out the car threw up in the grass. Enzo's duty is to now make sure she does not drink anymore.

Walking through the doors she saw either people huddled so close together there was no room to breath making out or others who were dancing to the music and lastly people downing shots trying to forget about their problems.

That was mariah's goal today, to drink and get loose. Her last party sucked and she wanted to enjoy this one by letting herself get loose for once and forget the problems going on at home.

When they made it into the main room malachi appeared out of nowhere dapping up his friend.

Damn did he look good. She started feeling much more self conscious about how she looked herself which she immediately stopped herself from doing as she's not about to let herself fall for him once again.

"my man your finally here" he said greeting his friend clearly excited and only slightly intoxicated. "and isabelle good to see you again" he said noticing enzo's girlfriend holding onto enzo tightly.

"she's already incredibly drunk" enzo said to explain why she looked she like was about to fall and mal just laughed "fair enough"

Isabelle suddenly spoke up "i'm literally right here you know, also look who i invited" she said pointing over to mariah. She quickly elbowed her knowing what she was trying to achieve.

Suddenly he looked over at her and it felt like it did couple years back when they were always by each other's side and almost like nothing had changed. He looked her up and down and smiled and she could feel her legs turning to jello from his stare.

"hey mariah, it's been a while" he said softly. She looked over him clearly to see if there was any sign of distaste but it didn't seem the case so she smiled back. "it has, hasn't it?" she said grinning at him.

"so where can i get a drink?" she questioned when she felt her self starting to heat up from his unmoving stare. He chuckled and pointed over to where they were and she thanked him before walking off.

"i'm literally so stupid, i need to get over him" she mumbled quietly to herself as she poured herself shots.

The rest of the night was good she remembers drinking way too much and her and belle both letting loose on the dance floor dancing to the music as soon as any good song played. She could feel a stare on her throughout most the night but was too out of it to figure out who.

She saw one of her friends ariana who she only really talked to online as she's got quite a busy schedule to be able to make plans.

She felt like she had so much freedom and happiness which she had almost forgotten what it was like. She felt so free and her anxiety seemed to have fallen as she laughed and talked with people she wasn't close with feeling happiness radiating of off herself all night.

"malll, why aren't you dancing" she said walking up to him having lost where isabelle had went, she pinched him playfully in the cheek as he just looked down at her and laughed.

Though he knew most of his friends were shocked with the way she was acting, he knew even though she was drunk that just how she was. Once she got comfortable with you she was one the most energetic and chaotic people you would meet. He could never forget their friendship growing up and how stubborn she always was whenever he insisted to help her with anything.

It was great seeing her again and in all honesty he had missed her greatly and hadn't realised until she was looking up at him, pouting her lips trying to convince him to dance. He also had forgotten how incredibly beautiful she was as her lashes batted at him and her soft lips jutted out in a pout. As soon as he realised his thoughts he shook his head clear. That is not something he should be thinking about.

She remembers dancing with malachi for a bit though it didn't last long as she had an urge for another drink.

She was pouring a drink until she heard a familiar voice which made her whole body tense and she could feel an uncomfortable feeling waft into her bones.

"hey pretty girl, we should dance" he said as he got close to mariah. She immediately backed up a little and glared at him "i'm okay kai, go find someone else to bother"

He just chuckled and smirked at her causing her to feel uneasy. Her body felt disgusting and she wished she had worn more to cover herself with.

"oh cmon, it was a mistake and i miss you" he said still smirking and looking her up and down. Though it wasn't like malachi's stare instead it made a horrible pit form in her stomach.

"OH, it was a mistake huh, is that supposed to make it okay?" she fired back at him laughing though clearly angry that he even had the nerve.

He tried to reach out to touch her but she backed up until she felt an arm go round her shoulders. She tensed until she looked and noticed it was mal and he looked incredibly angry. Instantly she relaxed and felt comfort in his touch.

His jaw was tense and his eyebrows were furrowed, she couldn't lie he looked hot like that.

"what do you think your doing?" he questioned, anger clear in his tone as he glared at kai who expression fell for a second then went back to normal.

"it's none of your business" kai replied glaring back at him though he had to look up slightly as malachi was taller.

"well someone's harassing my girlfriend so obviously i've got a problem" he spit out clear venom in his voice. Kai seemed to get even more angry for a second his face getting red though he seemed to think better of it and backed off.

She barely even noticed kai walk off as she felt her cheeks heat up and her heart beat faster, she knew he only said it to get rid of him but still butterflies erupted throughout her stomach only being bought back into reality when he started to speak.

"hey i'm uhh sorry for saying that i didn't know how to get rid off him" he said looking sheepish.

"it's fine!" she said quickly, her voice was a higher pitch than normal so she quickly cleared her throat "uhm it's fine thanks" she added cringing at her voice before.

Though he just gave her a small smile "that was kai right? your ex?" he questioned.

She suddenly looked really angry remembering him "yeah, he is a fucking piece of shit. The last time i went to a party i caught him cheating on me and the worst is what he said when i caught him" he looked at her expectantly though he felt angry once again for her having to deal with such a jerk. "he said you didn't seem like the party type i didn't know you would be here. He literally didn't care that he was cheating just that i caught him" she said scoffing at the memory.

Malachi was stunned by how someone could cheat on her. She was beautiful, funny and so amazing to be around and he felt anger that anyone could mistreat her like that. But he saw her face and could tell she didn't want to talk about it more so he pushed aside his anger and changed the subject.

Mariah was glad when he changed the subject still not fully ready to speak about that rat that she dated.

The rest of the night went much better she hanged out with enzo, isabelle, malachi, elijah, carla and ariana. It was a lot of fun and they were all such good energy to be around helping her forget what had happened earlier.

She had learned that carla also did music (though she did not tell her that she does it herself) Carla uploads her music and has 1m monthly listeners which was really cool and they got to bond over their shared love of music.

Last thing she remembers from the night was when she was about to leave with enzo driving her and isabelle and malachi had told her goodnight and to get home safe.

She remembers getting into the car blushing and grinning from ear to ear.
