The house was renovated, and it was equipped with modern amenities. The CCTV cameras were too installed for security, as the house was situated among the secluded places. The house was good to accommodate government officers, and the travellers too. We were advised by our department to be posted in that house, as from now onwards the government officers, who would be visiting the town, will be staying here, and as the town is few meters away, and it was connected by national highway, so there was no hassle of travelling. The department has provided us with laptops, printers, WIFI connections so we can do our work from that house, and it was easy for us. Though it was a secluded place, but we relied on Jaiveer, Ravi, and Jaishree for security, they were well-trained, as they were the part of National Cadet Corps, so we could easily rely on them. As we had CCTV cameras installed, so we were assured. There was a room, at the left of the hall, it served as our office, and security department too. There were few televisions and laptops connected to the CCTV cameras, while the rest use to prepare tourism packages for the state on the government website, promoting tourist spots. Fortunately, there were numerous tourist spots on the other side of our town, so we use to promote those places too on our website.

As we had the keys of the house, so the Sushma, Jaishre and Vathika used to prepare lunch for us in the kitchen of that house. The hall was quite big, and it had dining table and chairs, and near the hearth there were sofas arranged in U shape. We never stayed in the house at night, due to the rumours of being haunted, but we knew that before the arrival of the government officers, we must stay there, so we can check everything, also when the government officers stay there, we must arrange for the servants. Arranging for the servants was easy, as we had many circuit houses, where people were working, and of course, the government department paid them wages and tips. The hall served as an office for us. As the hearth was at the right, while we had dining tables to the left, and beyond dining table, there was a room, where we had televisions connected with CCTV cameras, so that room served as an office for us. The room was quite big, and there we had sofas, bed, tables, and rotating chairs. We use to do our work comfortably in that room, and every room in the house was large. The ladies were concerned about the house, so we decided to go to temple, and conduct prayers. We provided donations to the temple, and after conducting the prayers, the priest provided us with divine lockets. We thanked the priest and retired to the house. We spent one year and two months there, and everything was well. One fine day, we got a call from our department that few government officials would be staying in this house, and they would arrive in few days. We were advised to stay in the house, so we can check everything is in place. The servants from other circuit houses were hired to clean this house daily, and they did it. We gave them tips, as they did their work diligently. The foods were prepared by the ladies, and there was no change to it. We got our clothes from home, with enough provisions.

I was about to face the fear of my life.
