Assembly

The movie was nice, now, let's skip to a week later.

At the moment, Nejire was just doing her homework inside the bakery. It was a Friday morning, she was just trying to get it out of the way so she didn't have homework over the weekend. Her seat was always open at this time because her mom always had it reserved for her.

"Hey Nejire! Can I sit?" A woman asked. Instead of looking up to look at her, Nejire just nodded, continuing to stay focused. She hadn't taken her meds and once she lost focus, she probably wouldn't be able to focus again.

"Go ahead." She whispered. She knew it was either a regular or someone she knew by the voice.

"I'll just wait till you're finished for you to realize I'm actually here."

'You passive aggressive bitch' Nejire snickered to herself, knowing who it was. "Hi Ryuko."

"It's me! Sorry I haven't been able to hang out lately!" She nervously laughed. "We just finished moving in."

"You two moved in months ago! How are you just finishing? Oh my gosh, is this some twisted way to say you're pregnant?!" Nejire squealed. Ryuko squinted and laughed before going "no".

"We just got lazy, plus he works at night so he's usually sleeping when I'm awake. He got a week off and we spent that time unpacking and just spending time together."

"Oh, you two have different schedules?" Nejire asked, really confused by her statement. What was he, a vampire? Ha!

"Yeah. I hate it but what can I do? His job is really weird." Ryuko grumbled, rolling her eyes a bit.

"Oh, what is it?"

"Huh... I don't really remember..." she said, staring into space. She didn't do that a lot.

"Well... Is he hiring?"

"He should be, no one really likes his job because he says it's kinda boring." Ryuko laughed. "I'd be glad to bring it up! But why don't you work here? It'd be easy?"

"Oh... I don't really know. Plus I can't cook at all! And ya know, the me themed stuff. It's just weird. Ya know?" She shrugged.

"Oh my gosh! You're embarrassed by that stuff?" She whispered, leaning in so Mochi wouldn't hear. "I totally didn't know." She sad, clearly lying, as she leaned back and smirked.

"Don't you dare order something."

"I won't, I won't. But yeah, I can totally ask for you if you want."

"I finally get to meet Shinya! Yay!"

"Oh my god, you've never met him? I totally forgot to introduce you two. You know what, we should all hang out one day." Ryuko realized. "Anyways, doesn't school start for you soon? You should get going." Ryuko said, "we can hang out tonight? I'm not busy."

Nejire's smile grew wider. Since Nejire was fifteen, Ryuko had been dating Shinya, and they had just gotten really serious by moving in together. Nothing more than the weekly dates before around 4-5 months ago. Then they moved in together, and stuff, and Nejire was basically forgotten. She was totally proud of Ryuko and happy for her, but they had always had a close bond since Ryuko babysat Nejire while her mother got through College.

"I wanna hang out! Let's hang out! Let's go to the Boardwalk or something!" She gasped, bouncing in her seat. Ryuko nodded.

"Of course! Let's do that." Ryuko laughed.

"Yay!" Nejire giggled, hugging Ryuko, before running out of the bakery to get to school.

✨✨✨✨✨

(Lmao-)

School had been postponed for a moment. Nejire and the entire senior student body had to walk into the auditorium for a surprise assembly. Nejire thought it was going to be the choir singing again, or maybe some weird goodbye gift the teachers made.

Math was kicking her ass so like... did she really care? No. As long as she wasn't in math class.

Everyone sat down, Nejire moving up to Mirio's seating. Yuyu followed her just so she wouldn't be alone with their class.

"What's this about? That guy isn't a teacher." Nejire whispered, directing her attention to the silver haired man who was standing on one side of the auditorium's stage. "He's kinda cute though... look at him." Nejire whispered, Yuyu kinda looked at him and cringed.

"Nah, not really."

"You do you, he looks older though. Damn maybe I can't date him." She grumbled.

"Nejire he's literally wearing a uniform, he's old." Mirio said, trying to keep his friend far away from having a crush on a guy who was much too old for her. "Oop, I think he's about to start talking!" He whispered, sitting up straight.

"Oooh... I wonder if he has a hot voice!"

Mirio looked disgusted by her statement.

"Hello, children," he blinked, seeming to be disgusted by the teens in front of him, "I am Chief Kamihara of the SUNS organization, and as you may know, students of the school have been disappearing."

Kamihara... where had she heard that name?

(...)

"To avoid anymore students going missing, which we really do not want, your school has made it mandatory to go home in groups. Students will be assigned or checked before leaving, a group to walk home with, bus riders will be dropped off at their homes, no longer at a bus stop," Kamihara said, taking tiny gasps of air. He seemed to be very shy, which Nejire found adorable. "A new curfew will also be implemented in the state. It is mandatory to be home by at least nine on weeknights, eleven on weekends."

"Damn, I would rather be in math right now." Mirio said, popping gum into his mouth.

Nejire was in love with his voice to be honest. He was just cute in general.

"If you could, please don't talk to strangers. This is a common sense thing, but, please do not. It places you in danger, gives us more work, and trust me, we hate working." He sighed. It made a lot of students laugh and he looked up and made a confused expression. "What?"

(0-0)

"Anyways, we don't want anyone harmed, especially since students from this school have disappeared. Tamaki Amajiki has been missing for a while now, and if anyone has any clue on where he may be, please give the police a call." He said.

Mirio gasped and looked at Nejire.

"Tamaki went missing?"

"Who?"

"Nejire! He was in our first year class!"

That's weird. She would've remembered him. Nejire frowned and thought about him for a moment. Black hair, black eyes...

That's all she remembered...

That was odd. She usually remembered people.

"Oh my god. We should've invited him to walk home with us..." Nejire frowned, trying to help the situation.

She really needed to check her yearbook for him.

✨✨✨✨✨✨

Shinya's annoyed ass having to talk in front of a bunch of kids.

Ok but "call the police" is so funny to me. Just "yes."
