Chapter 6
When the family arrived home, Avia's parents sat her down on the same couch as they did before.
"Honey, you know that you have that tiger on your shoulder, right?" Sandra asked.
You mean Stripe? Yes, yes I do," Avia replied.
"Well, stripe is your conscience," Scott announced.
"What?" Avia exclaimed, not knowing at all, how to take in that information.
"Ok, I will break it down for you, and explain everything," Sandra said. "When a child is born, that are all given a charm. Now, when the child turns five years old, that charm will turn into a special animal, and that will become their conscience. Usually, when they are around ten years old, the conscience will start to talk to the human their assigned to. Now, yours talked to you for the first time today, and I don't think that anybody's consciences have talked to them this young."
"This is, is, is a-a-amazing!"Avia said, completely flabbergasted, or flustered.
"There is one catch however," Scott said. "If there is anything that I have learned from endless hours of watching Once Upon A Time, It would be that all magic comes with a price, and that rule still applies here. At a given time, you will not be able to tell if your devil, or angel, is talking to you. That means that one time your angel could be talking to you, and the next could be the devil. It is all up to you, whether you listen to them or not."
Avia needed a minuet to take all of the information in. She made a mad dash to her bedroom to think. As soon as she arrived at her bedroom, she flopped down on her bed. She has a conscience, that isn't just in her head? That is nonsense, but so cool! Just think of how useful that would be later in life? Like when your choosing a job to have, or choosing what the correct answer is on a test, or even what to name your children when your much older. The possibilities are endless. She eventually got tired and fell asleep, thinking about all of the things that she could possibly do with her conscience.
