Avia was in tears, sitting in the lobby of the hospital, when the doctor gave her the bad news.

'Stripe is never going to speak again?" Avia asked in tears. She just couldn't believe it happened, especially on their birthday.

"I am so sorry," the doctor told her. "When he fell off of his shoulder, he recieved some brain damage. He will still be as intellectual as he was before, but her will be mute."

Avia doubled over, bawling. Without her conscience, she would be normal again. She would be different in this town, with a conscience that would never help her with decisions again. She was devastated. Scott started to comfort her, but Avia brushed him away. At that moment, all that Avia wanted to do was crawl into her bed, all alone. The doctor took the family to see Stripe. They walked down the hallway, and turned into room 213. Stripe started bouncing on the hospital bed when he noticed them. Avia went strait to stripe to hug him, but the doctor stopped her befpre she arrived.

"If Stripe has any chance of talking again, you will have to be very gentle with him," the doctor told Avia. After hearing that information, she proceded towards Stripe, slower this time. When she arrived, Ahe picked up Stripe, and gave him a hearty, but gently, bear hug.

Avia felt like her whole life was over. First she learned the truth about her parents, then Stripe fell off of her shoulder, and now she learns that Stripe may never speak again! This was all too much for Avia. She collapsed to the ground.
