Hey!! How are you ?

Hi!!! I am absolutely freakishly fantastic.

So let's start the interview......

Anything you wanna tell us about you?

Well in that case then... let's go with me in general.

I am Srijani, a 16 year old teenager with emotional and physical peace or serenity. I am usually outgoing but this present situation got me sticking my nose in my laptop, story books, and all of the other things that I love doing during my leisure time...which mostly consists of me spending my time alone, crammed in my room. I am an introvert in that way

How did you start graphics designing?

Well... It all started when I embarked my journey in Wattpad. I made the worst cover for my book but awkwardness in this online platform restricted me from asking help from fellow graphic designers in wattpad to help me out with a cover. So yeah.. I started graphic designing when I required a cover for my book.

Ohh that was sad but it was also good ...from this you started something new

yeah.. and I am somewhat grateful to my mind setup at that point of time...my awkwardness and ego kinda helped me learn something good

Which app do you use for making graphics??

I use many...mostly procreate and canva... although canva more because I use procreate mostly for drawing, or digital painting..

What are your strengths and weaknesses?

I am usually more comfortable with designs which have a face claim. I think it's because I started graphic designing with face claims as in the ones required for my book cover and haven't actually tried making designs with just elements. Which is also my only weakness, I fall short of ideas when it comes to designs with elements.

So when I actually scored a rank in this competition or contest...it was a shock

Do you prefer to work as a team or solo ?

When it comes to graphic designing...I prefer solo.

What do you think makes someone a good graphics designer?

I think it's his/her imagination or personification of the theme or topic. Every single human being on this planet...has different mind set ups and will have different sorts of imaginations or ways of seeing things.

I feel if we as Graphic designers converse with our consumers freely, then it will help us understand what they actually want in our cover according to which we can modify the design as per our imagination and put forth the best of what we are capable of.

What new things did you discover while making graphics?

You wouldn't believe me when I say this but I actually was so dumb in this graphic designing area a year back, that when I learnt to blend two pictures. As one picture fades towards the end as another picture starts, I jumped around for the whole day. I mean... god! I couldn't stop laughing then.

I also remember when I learnt how to put a outer glow texture, I literally practiced it on all of my personal pictures to ensure that I don't forget it...joy

these two are the most important or prominent ones.. i also have many othersssss

Tell us about a design that you're proud of and walk us through the process if you want

I am very very obsessed with this design of mine.

So I took out the silhouettes of the face claims in the ebook cover size graphic designs and gathered the required backgrounds from pinterest.

I basically blended them and downloaded the raw design and adjusted the contrast and Vignette and all the other options and then upload it back on canva

After which I added the white smoke behind the text and blended it using screen mode and opacity

Post which I added the texts and their effects..

After which... I adjusted the saturation and the same adjustments all over again and voila...here comes the design fresh out of the stove

What inspired you to do graphics designing?

I literally searched for examples of graphic designing or rather book covers. My eyes popped out when I saw the beauty and chique designs made by fellow designers on and off Wattpad which is what kind of inspired me to do graphic designing. So thanks to all the people who showcased their work and inspired me

Who are your favourite graphics designers?

me 😂😂 I Am my favorite graphic designer.

Ok it's self love

I love the works of others although favoritism isn't my thing which is absurd...like literally. I don't have much favorites

According to you what makes a graphic more presentable and attractive?

Theme and texts. Because if you mix the theme and your imagination it's almost nectar. All you have to do is add the perfect text style.

How are you feeling after winning?

One word....Ecstatic. It was a pure shock to me on winning the contest like I stated previously because I had actually surveyed the work of the other competitors and frankly speaking, I was in awe of their work standard. specifically @lachimolala_8813 . Her working style is really elegant

Did you think that you would win?

Honestly speaking no... but I did know that I would score a rank. Any rank. I didn't exactly hope to win. I was simply happy to participate and built a..you know..kind of courage to enroll myself more into these contests.

When did you start learning editing?

like I said.. when I started my Indian Mythological book Krishna Praanadhika. It was casual at first after which I kinda took graphic designing seriously and started experimenting.

Basically from October 28, 2020.

Did you face any difficulty while making the graphics for the contest?

I did as a matter of fact. I never watched Midnight Sun, so I had very little knowledge on the film which I had to gather using the trailer and Wikipedia. So when I made the cover...I wasn't exactly sure if that's what the film portrayed because what I made was my imagination. apart from that...no

What's the first thought which comes in your mind before giving any of your work to someone?

Well... I feel nothing apart from confidence, because I usually don't showcase my work to anybody else unless and until I am satisfied with it or at least think that it is what they wanted. That is in case of orders...as for competitions/contests... one can't help but feel jittery.. it's natural.

What kind of feedback do you want from your clients?

Everyone prefers positive feedback from their clients, and so do I. Although I like or rather am comfortable with critiques also. They often clarify what they feel of the theme and provide me with another idea to better my design.

So last but not least let us about your experience you experienced during this interview. Was it interesting ? Did you enjoy it?

I did enjoy it. It was absolutely fun and cool.... Your questions made me think a lot for I never actually asked these questions to myself and nor did anyone ask them so in other words.. I have a lot more solved questions now...
