Episode 7: Preparing for Battle

Frame stared outside his tent at the men who were currently working around the clock to get things prepared. With the news of Admiral Devenul's death and the loss of the Army of India the Grand Army was all that stood between the Empire's Conquest of Russia and utter defeat. With it time was of the essence as of every minute they wasted it gave the Russian Army more time to prepare, but now they were preparing to March past Samara a city that had taken them two days to get to, but the plan wasn't to stay for very long considering the Russian Army in India could return at any minute.

Samara however would prove to be yet another challenge but rather a small skirmish more or less than anything else. However Frame found himself in a more difficult situation than ever, but it involved the Russian Army in Omsk that was no doubt on its way to them as they speak. As if though Frame didn't have it cut out for him to begin with due to the lack of supplies, the Scorched Earth Tactics, the Russian Army in India, and now this?....Frame was a great Leader but even a man like him could be stressed beyond relief.

Though these Problems were the common problems at the moment the one that struck at the very heart was that no Reinforcements had not been sent yet, but here they sat waiting and praying that the Reinforcements they needed would arrive. At the same time however many of the Men knew that the Campaign would be over soon, but at what cost a suicide mission with little Supplies, Hundreds wounded, and Equipment that could hardly work at times?...This was far too much for the Army the supposed "Grand Army".

'Why has no Reinforcements been sent here we are but a breath away from Moscow and yet I'm stuck here like a trapped rat.' Frame went into a deep thought as he stared outside the tent while holding the book he carried with him in his hands, but he sighed heavily as he lied back in the chair taking a look at the book while he did.

"Where is the General!?" A faint shout was heard from outside and Caught Frame's attention as he slightly looked up raising a eyebrow, but instead of one of the few Marshal's he was met by a Young man in a red uniform, and a Curacies hat, but was obviously a messenger.

"Excuse me General, but I bring you a letter from a Young Woman her name and exact age was unknown to us in the Beijing I was just ordered to arrive here to give you the Letter and then return." The Young man reached out to give Frame the letter in which Frame did take, but was soon interrupted by the Young man before he could read it.

"Oh yes and this one as well, but now I must leave...Good day General." Before Frame could say another word the Messenger sprinted out of the tent only to turn the corner and losing slight of Frame. Instead of reading the first Letter he received Frame decided to read the second one hoping it would be something of great importance, but when he opened it his eyes widened knowing he was right about it.

'Dearest General, I bring to you news that the Reinforcements have been made and are now on the March to you the total Force is mainly two hundred thousands soldiers bearing Supplies, Weapons, and new Equipment necessary to complete the Campaign expect these men a few day's after Samara these will be the only reinforcements you will receive....Sincerely Yours Teveland.' Frame looked at the letter before folding it back up and setting it down next to him, but somewhere inside him he was glad that the Reinforcements he had hoped for were finally on there way and at a surprising speed as well.

And now it was time to look at the other letter, but before he did he sighed lightly and breathed deeply before he opened it scanning it slowly as he read it letter by letter.

'Hi Dad! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to write to you sooner, but things here in well I guess its not America anymore but you get it...anyway things here are getting Strange there's military people everywhere and people are afraid somethings going to happen real soon, but all I'm worried about is what is going on where you are I worry too much for you and I know you do the same, but I just wish when you done with whatever your doing out there that you will come home safe along with Uncle B and M, but until then I'll wait just don't get yourself killed for me please....Dearest Allie.' Frame looked down to the floor as he finished reading the Letter, but instead of sitting the letter down he only smiled looking at it again before finally after a few minutes he had folded it up and sat it down next to him.

Frame was expecting everything to be silent for next few minutes after he finished reading the letter's but instead he was interrupted by Brandon who merely stood at the door way of the Tent.

"Frame...I brought news barring the Army of Russian Coast." Frame stared directly at Brandon who returned the stare, but the room however was filled by silence as Frame finally chose to speak up.

"Go on then." Frame leaned forward in the chair and looked at Brandon who had just started to speak.

"They are making quite good progress they have taken the coast along the Bering Sea, but are now progressing towards the inward lands soon enough we will control the land mass from Gorno-Altaisk to the coastline." Frame looked up at Brandon and looked surprised.

"Good God! that means we would control half of Russia." Brandon nodded to Frame's sudden outburst the thought of having control of this much land however it made things in books look timid in comparison.

"Yes, but should I ready the Army?" Frame slowly got up and walked over to the table which had several different papers, and maps which was common when he was working here.

"No....No we will wait another hour or two...I need some time to rest as well." Brandon nodded before walking out silently leaving little to known trace that he was even in there. As for Frame he slowly went back to sit back down in the chair taking out the book as he did, but due to the current hours he's had and the days they had waited for the Rain to end he had already made quite the lead up on the book since he read it a lot.

"Chapter 21, Airship." Frame opened the book and silently spoke as he started to read the book slowly reading it word by word before he was lost in reading it.

After almost a hour later, Brandon returned with several others who seemed ready to begin the next journey to Samara.

"We are ready Frame, but we are still having a problem with the equipment slightly." Frame looked up from the book as he stared straight at Brandon and the others as they waited for a answer.

"Fine then let's go before we lose more time." Frame stood while he spoke and quickly grabbed his hat that he had tossed earlier at the nearby chair, but when the others had left Brandon was the only one left yet he didn't look at Frame rather he looked at the letters.

"If your wondering what those Letter's are one is from Teveland with news of Reinforcement's, and the Second is from Allie." The moment Frame spoke of Allie, Brandon had froze eye's widened as he slowly started to speak.

"D-Did she mention me by any Chance?" Brandon stared at Frame, but he only got the same cold, blank stare from Frame.

"Yes she did, Uncle B." Frame laughed slightly and walked out only to be followed by a smiling Brandon soon after. When the duo exited the Tent Frame was surprised to find the Army had not left already as they normally did, but the only thing Frame did notice besides that was the Equipment such as the Tank's, and Artillery that were not functioning right at the moment.

"When we return to our own soil I will make it clear to have more Equipment and more of the newer technology at our disposal." Brandon spoke up while he walked with Frame the smoke coming from the Tank's and Car's weren't helping at all as the very smell of the black smoke past by them.

"No, No I will make it clear Brandon when we our done here in Russia I will need you to stay in command of the Grand Army while I return to America." Brandon looked at Frame I little shocked and Surprised with why he would Return to America there was nothing there not even the highly advanced technological facility where their technology came from.

"Is there a reason why you must return to America." Frame just slightly chuckled as he watched several men rush past them in a quick and furious attempt to try and help the others with the packing up of the supplies in there Camp.

"Yes...My daughter believes there might be something occurring in America if it is another Rebellion I must be there to crush it." Brandon listened to Frame speak and was silent the entire time, but Frame knew that when he was silent he was questioning something.

"You trust the wisdom of her?" Frame continued to walk not even fazed by what he said.

"I have to as a father, but besides I'm more of a father than she would ever have and so I have to be the best one that I can be that even means trusting her with this kind of thing." Brandon nodded after Frame had said this, but really he knew the history of Frame and Allie and what Allie had gone through before she met Frame when he meant he was a true Father to her he truly did mean it. Everyday Frame would give his heart and life to let Allie be safe, but that's what made him the great Man he was too her anyway and to think it had been only four Years since he found her and since the too had grown a bond stronger than most Father's and Daughter's.

"Now can we get back to the status of the Army?" Brandon nodded to Frame's response as they both stopped to let the passing Soldiers run past them to do their duties.

"We're seeing some progress with the Armies ability to fight the Russians, but the fear of the full might of the Russian Army is getting to the men." Frame slowly turned around to look at Brandon a slightly confused look was on his face.

"Full Might?" Frame looked at Brandon as he sighed pulling out a piece of paper which he held in between two of his fingers.

"I went ahead and read it, but it says that the Russians have broken their alliance with Europe in a attempt to gain more ground as we took their own soil." Frame stared at Brandon the slight look of confusion was still on his face as he tried to think of why the Russians would do such a thing.

"And what made this happen?" Brandon looked at Frame with a slight lean of his head to the left as he looked over a few men before returning to Frame.

"The Battle where Admiral Devenul died when the English, French, and Russian fleet was destroyed, but we believe the Russian President was persistence in saying the English, and French were responsible for the fleet's destruction." Frame nodded listening to Brandon's report this was without a doubt a blessing, but the reason it was a blessing was because with Russia at war with Europe their entire Military would be focused on the eastern front, but the Army of India was still a problem.

"With the Russian Army of India on its way, its still a race against time." Frame stared at Brandon and then soon the men who rushed past them again, but this time the men were carrying shells and pushing a Artillery piece into one of the Transports.

"I have no more time to wait, but tell the others were ready." Brandon nodded to Frame's response, but as he started to walk away he turned around to see Frame shake a little before collapsing on the ground.

"My god Frame!" Brandon dropped everything he had in his hands and rushed over to Frame who looked liked he was going to pass out, but as Brandon stood there a Soldier ran up and Brandon shouted at him.

"Get Help!!" The Soldier nodded running away as he left Brandon kneeling next to a Unconscious Frame, but what was going through his mind was 'What the hell happened?'.

Almost a hour later Brandon, including the other Marshal's were standing outside the Tent along with the hundreds of Soldiers who were waiting for the man to wake up, or for the Medic's to come out instead. When the first Medic came out everyone thought the worst, but when he spoke it all changed into relief more than anything.

"General Frame is awake and well and will be able to continue his duties this incident was merely nothing at all, but for now continue on with your assignments per the General's orders." The Medic looked around and met the blank facial expression's from his peers who silently walked away to do as they were told, but only Brandon and the others stayed and before he could walk in the Medic stopped him holding his arm out to stop him.

"The General's health is stable, but if he continues without rest for much longer it may drive him to his point this incident was a sign of it." Brandon and the others listened as the Medic silently whispered to them all the reasoning for it was unknown to them.

"He's determined we'll give him that, but he wont stop until we have taken Moscow and that's only days or a week away." Brandon spoke to the Medic as the others watched for the past minute or so the two spoke whispering to each other before the Medic allowed them to pass into the tent.

"Now Remember General you need Rest or this will happen again." One of the Medic's was speaking to Frame as the others walked in, but from the look of Things Frame was just about done with this Medic's constant chatter.

"I get it for the fifth time I need damn rest, but now leave me be." Frame motioned his hand for the Medic to leave in which he did passing by Brandon and the others, but when Frame looked at them he motioned his hand to the chairs around the tent.

"You Alright?" Brandon spoke first as he took a seat, but was met by Frame's usual motioning of his hand to state that he was alright.

"I will be, but let's make one thing clear this will be kept between us and the Army no one else and if it is spoken about well you know the penalty." Frame looked at them giving the cold blank expression he always gave, but was met by only a few nods from all of them.

"Now go and let me rest, but before you do go we still need to get past Samara, and then Penza so be prepared for the morning and the day after for we will not stop." Everyone nodded minus the fact that Frame did need rest, but this plan clearly went against that order yet they knew he wasn't very good at taking orders and he never would be.
