Episode 4: The Road to Biysk
Frame sat on his grey horse once more as he stared at the charred battlefield from the day before. Gorno-Altaisk was a great battle for him and by only a few hours the man was already being called the "Monster of Russia" a fitting title for him he thought as he grinned. He sighed heavily however when he noticed the man who was sitting on a horse next to him was covering his mouth with a small piece of cloth.
"I think I've seen enough for today General." The man was known as Teveland or at least that was his last name. Teveland was known for being the Empire's Minister of Foreign affairs which meant whatever happened between their Empire and other countries he would know and would either tell the King or would have the honor of creating the Treaties of such. As for Teveland's attire he usually wore a top hat with a different long coat usually black or grey but today for some reason he chose white.
"No, Teveland you haven't feel, smell, let it show you what the cost of War has brought us." Frame sighed as he watched Teveland cover his mouth once more before putting the cloth down.
"But in total over eight thousand of ours dead, twenty to thirty thousand of theirs dead." Frame said this quite calmly although most people would either stutter or would be a bit disturbed by this he was not affected at all by the outcome of this battle. As for Teveland he had only nodded silently as he put the cloth on his mouth one last time before speaking up again.
"I'll make sure this victory will be announced throughout the Military and the Empire." Frame nodded as he slightly held his breath because of the smoke that was passing by them. Teveland however had already begun to ride off on his horse to try and catch up with the Convoy which brought him here to begin with. Frame on the other hand had already begun the preparations for the march to Biysk until he was interrupted by Brandon who had finally regrouped with the Army only hours before.
"Frame we have several Russian prisoners who wish to speak to you." Brandon looked at Frame's surprised expression, but even he knew it was a surprise considering a few Prisoners wanted to talk to them they thought the Russian soldiers were obedient and loyal to the end. None the less Frame agreed and slowly got off his horse before following Brandon to the city Prison which in term was what they constructed into the main headquarters for the time being, and as they walked past the Soldiers who were idle while talking In the lobby Brandon lead him to the back where a small room was revealed and with it a see through glass was in front of frame before he knew it.
"What is it that they want again?" Frame looked at the prisoners inside the room there was only ten but from the report in front of him it said their was over a hundred Prisoners here, but from they knew these were the so called "Leaders" of the Prisoners but not of the Army they encountered the day before.
"They wanted to speak with you they wouldn't tell us much more." Frame slightly looked at Brandon before slowly walking over to the door. Without a moments hesitation however he opened it and walked inside, but as he stared at the Prisoners they returned their glares at him.
"You wanted to speak with me?" Frame crossed his arms behind his back before he was approached by a tall man who had brown hair, a short mustache, and was wearing the small outfit the others were wearing.
"Aye we did, my name is Victor Krevul I was a commander for the Army you obliterated the day before." Frame listened to Victor as he spoke being careful as he did.
"We want to join your Army considering what our Government left to defend the Motherland is nothing but a worthless piece of shit." Frame continued to listen grinning widely the thought of Russian's fighting for his army would not only give him access to areas around Russia but information of the Armies and the Commanders in charge.
"Fine then Mr. Krevul you have a deal as long as you provide me with Information of the Landscape of Russia and the layouts of the Armies including the commander who lead that Army yesterday I will allow you to continue in my army, am I Understood?" Victor nodded and looked back at the other prisoners, but as for Frame he had already walked out closing the door behind him.
"So what was that about Frame?" Brandon asked curiously as Frame continued to walk until they were both back in the main lobby of the Prison.
"I have accepted our prisoners into the army to insure this Invasion goes by quicker, but do not worry about insubordination if I see any or any betrayal ill deal with them." Brandon nodded knowing the hint of seriousness coming from Frame's words.
"As for anything else is the Army ready to march on Biysk? I plan to move out and catch the Russians before they can prepare their defenses." Frame turned around to meet Brandon's gaze who returned it.
"I'll have it done but we should consider the morale of the army they will need time to rest." Frame looked at Brandon as if though he had just said a bad joke.
"They can rest when we take Moscow until then tell them to stop acting like frighten children and act like Men." Brandon sighed before nodding slightly he had wanted to receive a response from Frame, but when it did come he was only shrugged out of the room which he did do to deliver the orders.
It was only a hour later did Frame hear the sounds of Marching outside his tent, but at the moment he was reading a small book a familiar and popular book at that.
"A laptop is a super computer why is technology in this book so timid?" He sighed as he slowly got up only to be interrupted by Brandon who had quickly decided to barge inside the Tent.
"Sorry to interrupt but we're ready and awaiting your orders." Frame nodded before grabbing his hat and silently motioning for Brandon to leave which he did. Frame at the moment was putting the book in a small pocket he had inside his large black coat that he wore, but besides being a terrifying menace to the Russians he wanted to hide this small "Teenager" book from the eyes of his fellow peers.
"Now the best time to leave and I better go quickly." He sighed as this thought went through his head. He slowly put on his hat and exited the Tent only to find his horse and a Soldier waiting for him, but instead he just sighed as he realized the others left ahead of him as he quickly climbed on to his horse and rode off.
After a hour Frame found himself riding next to his fellow peers which were the Marshalls of the Army and the most common. Brandon of course was the second in command, Malcom the Cavalry Marshal, Presley, Neon, Julia, and Kaleb were all Marshals as well but they were just lucky to be here to be honest they were all lucky to be here not to mention being Marshals.
"The Biggest Problem we will have in several days is Mud, but if we manage to beat the mud we might be able to save our Cars to think the smartest scientist in our world cant even create nuclear powered cars." Neon continued to ramble while the others listened at least the talking was keeping the boredom from getting to them as they kept marching towards Biysk.
"Yes but theirs also any Russian Ambush that could happen anywhere we must be careful." Malcom sounded a bit hesitant as he said this looking around him as he did.
"You needn't worry Malcom they don't know we are coming.....I don't think." Presley spoke next taking note of the long convoy of Regiments, Tanks, and Cars following them some being Trucks pulling the Artillery as well.
"You are all worried about what might happen to us now but think about later instead of now." Brandon spoke up next being truthful to his words as he turned his head back to in front of him where Frame had said nothing on their little journey it had been silent as usual what went through his mind was a mystery to everyone else.
"What is our armies condition?" Frame finally spoke up looking back at the others as they looked at him.
"It's good considering really." Brandon spoke up again before going silent again knowing Frame had nothing left to say.
"You think Teveland brought the message to Beijing?" Brandon spoke to the others knowing Frame wanted to think at the moment.
"I hope he's more a coward then a man." Neon spoke soon after Brandon who was met by several laughs from the others all except Frame who seemed to have simply blocked them out as he kept riding on his horse not saying anything.
For the rest of the Journey it was quiet and safe as the Army finally reached the outskirts of the town of Biysk. Instead of finding another enemy Army they rather found the city abandoned, and desolated.
"What the Hell?" Brandon spoke out shocked just like everyone else as they stared at the empty city. After a hour the Army had begun to set up their supplies and equipment in the town but it was still a surprise to them why would they leave the town to them?
"It's Simple they have no direct Army to fight us at the moment all they would have is men who were untrained which in term has made them flee from this city like the frighten cowards they are." Frame told his fellow peers this with a sense of calmness and was actually a bit happy for once, but this news of the Russians being Cowards? It was too funny for him.
"Are you sure?" Neon spoke up clearly questioning Frame's logic on this matter which in terms was a mistake at times when someone questioned his Logic and Methods on War. As a response however Neon was met by the cold, dead stare of Frame as he just glared at him.
"I am sure Neon now as such I want all of you ready for the Night I don't know if the Russians will be back or not." Frame looked at them all as they looked at each other with a small look of wiriness.
"Understood?" Frame spoke up once more as he looked at all six of the others in the room, but his only response was only a few slight nods from them all.
"Dismissed." As the words came from Frame's mouth all six of the Marshals walked out one by one. As for the weary General he had already taken off his hat and threw it on to the table near him the same with his gloves that he wore all the time.
"I suppose now I should continue reading, and maybe get some rest." He sighed heavily before sitting down in a chair while taking out the book he had hidden before in his coat.
"Lets see.....Chapter Five: Titans."
Sometime during the middle of the Night....Frame awoke to the sounds of screams and gun fire outside of his room. He slowly blinked as he realized it was a little over midnight but the gun fire was what was getting to him at the moment. Before he knew it however Brandon and several others rushed into the room and from the way they looked they seemed to be tired.
"Sir....the Russians they have burned this town its horrible, but we found several powdered rags and sulfur in several of the buildings but all it took was a few Russians to give their lives and Poof!" Brandon motioned his arms as if though a large explosion had just occurred, but as for Frame he had opened the nearby window only to see the town on fire as they had said the only building to not have been on fire was the one they were currently standing in.
"How many died?" Frame continued to look out of the window as Brandon stuttered to speak.
"O-Only a hundred, but a thousand have been wounded." Frame quickly turned his head to Brandon as he slowly sat back down in the chair he had been sitting in before this event.
"Have the men move into this building as many it can carry, but as for the others let them in the tents!" Frame shouted the orders to Brandon who nodded before running out of the room with the other men. Although this was a set back Frame knew that he could not stop now his Army would have to deal with this set back or they would be glad to be shot, but Russia would not be easy but now a scorched earth tactic? This was indeed a new one to Frame.
