Cassius pulled on the reins of his horse and stopped abruptly.
I quickly did the same and went back to him. The distant look in his eyes told me he was seeing something.
I waited patiently for the vision to finish. He usually had longer visions. I guessed it was because he saw more detail than the average Vision.
He looked up at me and answered my question before I could ask it. "We can't go to Sifa."
I frowned. "Why?"
He shook his head as if he was trying to make sense of what he had just seen. "I don't know, the vision was all over the place."
I nodded. "Do you know where we should go? We can try and make sense of it on our way."
He looked up. "Terra, I think. I didn't get a clear answer but I know Javus will be able to keep us hidden."
I smiled. "That's what I was thinking, plus it cuts a few hours off our ride."
We kept moving in the same direction, we had to go the long way to Sifa because we couldn't risk being spotted near the Kalheim Military Base.
It was a ridiculously long journey. The fastest route to Sifa was to cut directly to Terra but that would have kept us in Kalheim longer. So far we had gone through Shena, Reka, Calla, and Seva. We were currently nearing the border of Pravis.
We would probably keep riding on the same route until we reached the edge of Manthe Bay. We had lived in this damn place our entire lives and it was still so easy to get lost.
If you didn't follow the water or the territory lines you had no chance of getting where you wanted to go.
After a few moments of silence, I glanced at Cassius. "What did you see?"
"I think it was out of order." He mumbled. "It was just a lot of people."
I bit the inside of my cheek. There was a reason we weren't supposed to touch the artifacts. It was messing with the magic. "Who? Maybe we can sort it out."
He turned slightly and pointed at the woman. "She was in it, that's the first thing I saw. I don't know where she was, it was just her face. Then I saw a man, I think it was Prince Eres. But he looked different."
"Different how?"
"Well, he had different clothes for starters. They weren't from Kalheim. But there was something about his demeanor." He shook his head. "It sounds stupid, but he looked almost friendly. And not the deceiving kind. But then I saw him again and he was chasing someone, he had Kalheim military armor on and that like hateful look the king has."
"Was he looking for her maybe?" I motioned to the woman. Apparently, her name was Elyse but we'd been referring to her as 'the woman' or 'the chick' for so long her name sounded wrong.
"No, he was chasing someone on foot. But he wasn't exactly chasing. He was walking after someone and saying something, I don't know what it was though."
"Did you recognize the area?"
"Yeah, it looked like Naris."
I mulled over his words for a moment. If it was Naris he probably wasn't chasing after a soldier. Soldiers didn't tend to stray far away from Kalheim, he was chasing after someone who knew their way around the land.
I sighed. That could be anyone who was born outside of Kalheim. "Did you see anything else?"
He nodded. "Seva was attacked. Chena got out with the Dagger of Ahryex. She's on her way to Sifa."
I opened my mouth to say something but then a thought came across my mind. "Why can't we go to Sifa?"
We both stopped moving. "I don't know." He whispered. "I just know we can't."
"Theory, Eres is looking for the chick and someone told him we were heading for Sifa."
He raised an eyebrow. "Who would he have been chasing then?"
"A magi maybe. He might know that we have her. A magi might be willing to help him if all he wants is her."
He nodded. "That sounds right. But who would've told him?"
I shrugged. "Anyone in Seva. He won't be able to find us on his own, I wouldn't be surprised if someone let it slip that she was with a Vision and a Flame."
He gripped the reins. "Straight to Terra and then hide until I see something else then?"
I glanced at Elyse and smiled slightly. "I'd love to try and get some information out of that one."
