Protologue

The warm auburn sun enlightened the beautiful, pale primrose like sky, as the patrol for day had headed north into Crowned Points. The glistening waters fluttered delicately onto the pointed yet soft ground, leaves dancing in the surge near the entrance of the cave. Multiple scents were identified, but the most clear scent was an cat, no clan. LeafFall pinned her ears as she hissed a threatful tone, "A loner has been here, and the scent is fresh!" The patrol with eyes full of defense, called out for the loner, yet had found no trace of the mysterious loner. Yellow eyes met the patrol, the patrol hissing mental defense. But for BorageClan, this would be a sign, a sign of something more than just behind. The patrol headed back to the pine forest, swerving to the left to avoid the splashing of the lake. The group of cats carefully navigated themselves away from the foxes in hiding, before reaching a hollow tree log, onto it's side, the cats walked into the tree log, going into a ditch , which was their camp, full with cats of all ages. Apprentices excitedly questioned their new mentors, kits played mossball, the elders complained about the hidden ticks in their backs, and the leader had barely dismissed a clan meeting, looking forward to the patrol's report. FadedStar is very intelligent with his age of course. He is gray, with a never fading smile of his, and his smiling ways always made the leader look more than happy for any cat in his clan. He had let the patrol report what had happened, nodding as he understood the situation. FadedStar announced that he will now assign two patrols to navigate the borders, to insure the safety of his clan. But in his mind, he had worried for AlderHeart, his deputy and soon to be father of his daughter's kits. The tom silently prayed to Starclan, hoping that all would be well for his clan. FadedStar's prayer was soon interrupted by another patrol report, but FadedStar's mind was clouded with concern for the clans, and leafbare being around the corner, he just hoped for a good leafbare without any words of betrayal.

In the nursery that was a hollow bush with vines drooping off the bush, was a newly kitting queen naming her kits. She had purred, noticing the father of the kits pacing outside the nursery anxiously.

"Can I come in, PoppyGlint?" He asked the queen, pinning his ears anxiously, still pacing.

She had motioned her tail to confirm the father's request to come inside of the nursery. The father smiled, looking at the kits. This couple were heavily known among the rest of the clan. PoppyGlint, a beautiful red orange pelted she with sharp green eyes, her pelt is, as if it was poured in crimson, with poofs of a lighter red surrounding the poured pelt and was as soft as cobwebs. The kind she was always ready to smooth out troubles and form a smile on every face.

AlderHeart was the deputy, the well respected and highly educated tom. He had blazing brown fur, with brave, shining eyes of grass that could calm anyone. The brave tom had been envied for his courage and skill, with his strength he had always took down foes. With the two of them together, they were deeply in love with each other. With her kindness and with his strength they made an unstoppable presence of a pair in the clan.

The red she smiled, as she licked the fur of her kits to keep them warm and clean. "What should we name them, AlderHeart?" PoppyGlint asked, her eyes shining with pride as she spoke.

The tom smiled, identifying the two kits. One of the kits shone in the sunlight, stretched out like a clover, as its pelt was white as the MoonPool's reflection of SliverPelt. It had mewled for her parents, searching for them. She was beautiful, and soft as petals of flowers. The other kit had not meowed yet, nor moved. The other kit was a cinnamon brown tom, with a white forepaw. Clumped up like wet soil, yet beautiful with it's seed like forepaw. They seemed perfectly matched with each other, one being the clover planted within the soil with seeds, the other being the soil holding up the clover as it grows. "How about the tom, SoilKit?" AlderHeart suggested, not noticing the breath of the kit tom, smiling.

PoppyGlint smiled, nodding agreement. "CloverKit for the white she cat? She is very pretty and very cute too."

AlderHeart agreed, smiling but PoppyGlint seemed unhappy, frowning and staring at SoilKit. something was missing, the tom didn't look as healthy as the she kit. PoppyGlint pinned her ears, her pupils dilated with fear. The she looked in disbelief, as she kept staring at SoilKit.

"AlderHeart, get AshFall, something's wrong with SoilKit!" The queen yowled in panic with disbelief, trying to help the light soil colored tom breath, licking the fur rapidly, trying her best to help the tom recover. The she waited afraid and anxiously, worry rising for her newborn son. She started to have tears in her eyes, afraid of what SoilKit might be affected by. PoppyGlint lowered her eyebrows, saddened with worry and anxiously waiting for the medicine cat to hurry here. AshFall came with juniper berries, yarrow, catmint, thyme. The light blue berries were tried first, and they had found out the problem. SoilKit hasn't breathed yet, but there's still hope. AshFall had tried CPR, juniper berries, licking the kit's pelt, trying to get it to drink milk from PoppyGlint, but nothing had worked. AshFall informed the two that were was nothing starclan or she could do, as the news broke PoppyGlint with tears streaming down her eyes, insisting that SoilKit can't be dead. She had screamed, with tears, cries of pain for her lost kit.

"Please, try again! He can't be dead! He's not dead, right?" PoppyGlint cried with sorrow, devastated with grief and pain for her lost kit. AlderHeart lowered his head, saddened. PoppyGlint screamed, trying to revive her lost child. She repeated that My son can't be dead, please try again AshFall! PLEASE! The queen sobbed, screaming at the top of her lungs, AlderHeart and AshFall tried to comfort the queen, even her brother, BrambleShine who PoppyGlint rarely talked to tried to comfort her.

The queen grieved for four sunrises, having nonstop nightmares about her fallen son, it started with her seeing SoilKit through the forest, and of course, she had followed her son out of pure guilt and pity for the young kit who had died at birth. After all, it was her kit, and she truly trusted her kits. The young kit had led her to a pool of water, except, it wasn't the MoonPool. The waters of the pool where murky, and polluted, rivers of twoleg trash had inhabited the waters of the pool. Inside of the reflection of the pool, was SoilKit crying, and then pushing her into the water, laughing sinisterly. AshFall believes that it was a warning. While FadedStar blamed himself for the death of his grandson, shaming himself for that. The truth is, how would any cat know the dangers of this prophecy?

[A\N: The grieving part made me cry, what about you all?]
