Felicity Ramsey was certain of three things;

First, Lydia was going to kill her when she showed up with that jacket and those ugly shoes.

Second, she didn't know why they were still friends if they head-butted a lot

And third, she was already late.

Like always.

"Oh, my God" The brunette girl slammed her car door, gaining several looks as she beeped her alarm car as she hiked her school bag up her shoulder, huffing "This time my alarm didn't sound. I swear I did put it at night"

The strawberry blonde -who was impatient already for her best friend arriving late (even if she was already used to it)- was fixing her make up, staring at herself on her compact mirror, "Yet you turn it off when it goes off at four am" she slammed close her mirror, giving her short best friend a look over, "I don't know why you insist on doing that if you don't wake up until five. Messes your head, see what you did there, sweetie?" She pointed at her jacket, and then her shoes, "Totally a disaster. You're lucky I know you and love you to do this"

Lydia Martin pulled out of her school bag a pair of shoes and handed them to Felicity, who grabbed them with a sheepish, sarcastic smile, "Thank you, Lydia. What would I do without you?"

"Be arrested by the fashion police" Lydia answered, watching her friend changing her shoes for a pair of boots that totally matched her jacket. "There, now you don't look like you just woke up putting on the first thing you saw"

Lydia sauntered toward the school, leaving Felicity behind, sputtering "But that's what I did!"

Lydia only laughed knowingly, not even bothered anymore. Felicity had grew up alongside her as her neighbour and while both girls at first always butted heads and had different styles, they knew they'd always be there for each other when they really needed it. And it all started when a certain boy always made fun of the girl who had no mom and lived with an 'abnormal family'. Lydia had never seen a problem with that because Felicity's dads were always nice. Which is where Felicity inherited their not so fashion sense but her loyalty and defending others. It was a day in kindergarten when both girls stood up to defend one another when their friendship began.

Felicity smiled slightly to herself as she followed Lydia. The girl hearing her friend walk closer, slowed her pace so they'd be able to walk together toward the school, just like they did always.

"....Since the birth of Lydia Martin" Felicity heard a loud voice as she walked in alongside Lydia and gave her friend a questioning look. Lydia ignored it, flipping her hair, still walking "Hey, Lydia! Hey Felicity! You two look-"

Lydia grabbed her friend's arm, noticing she had slowed down, "You don't want to be late, sweetie"

Felicity sighed, shrugging "You're right"

"Like you're gonna ignore me..." Felicity turned her head slightly toward the voice, seeing two boys talking. She sent them a brief apologetic look but didn't talk to them otherwise. Felicity was sure she had seen the boy with the buzz cut and hyperactivity around her and Lydia since they were little but she couldn't be certain, after all Beacon Hills was a small town. He could have coincidentally been around the places they liked to hang out, right?

"Do you know him?" Felicity asked as they made their way to English class.

"Who?" Lydia asked distractedly as she saw her boyfriend ahead. They both exchanged longing looks, Felicity immediately catching on, gagging "Aw, don't be a prude. You know what we do, it's not like you haven't done it with-"

"Okay, Lydia" Felicity interrupted loudly, a small blush coating her cheeks. Lydia smirked in smugness. "I get your point. But you two are disgusting when you eye rape each other across the room. It's even worse when you're attached to the hip"

"Your point?" Lydia asked uninterested as they sat down on their respective seats

Felicity gave her a look, "Don't do it in front of me. Rule number one about friends, we don't rub in your single friend's face you have a boyfriend and she doesn't"

Lydia rolled her eyes, "Rule number one is allowing each other to tell their flaws and fashion horrible taste" she whirled a strand of hair in her finger "And I wouldn't rub Jackson in your face if you'd date the boys I introduce you"

"Ha ha" Felicity drawled sarcastically "If I let that happen, who knows who you'd set me up with" she shuddered "No, thanks. I prefer remain single" Lydia sighed, giving her a disappointed look "What? It's nice. You don't get to worry about impressing someone and more binge time and popcorn at night"

"You're hopeless" Lydia deadpanned. Felicity smiled innocently "One of these days you'd beg me to find you someone to date. And like the best friend I am, I will find you someone"

"And until that day comes...." Felicity smiled, flashing her thumbs up as Mr. Curtis walked in and the rest of the class settled in their own seats. "I'll keep reminding you to keep your sex-escapades to your bedroom"

"Ms Ramsey, something to say about my class?" Mr Curtis cleared his throat. Felicity smiled a charming smile, not answering. "As you all know, there indeed was a body found in the woods last night" Felicity grimaced, looking down at her desk, starting to pray for the poor soul. "And I am sure your eager little minds are coming up with various macabre scenarios as to what happened" Felicity gave him a somewhat disgusted look, who in their right mind would do that instead of praying for their family? Lydia shook her head besides her, landing a soft manicured hand in her hand, squeezing knowingly and reassuring as she had a good idea what passed through her friend's head "But I am here to tell you that the police have a suspect in custody, which means you can give your undivided attention to the syllabus, which is on your desk outlining this semester"

Felicity shook her head, giving Lydia a grateful smile as their vice principal walked in, behind him a shy brunette girl gripping the straw of her grey canvas bag with white knuckles, seemingly nervous

"Class, this is our new student, Allison Argent" The Vice principal told them. Felicity and Lydia looked at the girl in curiosity and interest "Please do your best to make her feel welcome"

Allison smiled weakly and nervous, walking between two rows where Lydia and Felicity sat, both girls in synchrony looking at Allison up and down, looking at each other with smiles on their faces, nodding their agreement.

"Are we picking up strays now, Lyds?" Felicity joked as soon as the school day ended. They hadn't seen the new girl in their other classes so far but they were willing to look for her, something not normally done by the Queen Bees of the school, they usually waited for girls to come for them but they saw something on Allison, something worth of trying a genuine friendship.

"A cute stray" Lydia followed on her joke, one of the rare times that made Felicity's smile grow. They found Allison at her locker, making their way to her, almost cornering her "That jacket is absolutely killer. Where'd you get it?"

Allison looked surprised and awkward to see two girls standing in front of her with killer and charming smiles, something that made her cautious at first as she glanced at her jacket, "My mom was a buyer for a boutique back in San Francisco"

Lydia smiled as if she won something, linking her arm with Felicity's "And that's proof. You're our new best friend" Felicity smiled at Allison softly "You may even give Fel advice on nice jackets"

Allison gaped as she looked at Felicity who looked slightly offended and was going to say something in defense when the other girl's offended expression shifted to an amused one before shoving Lydia's arm, "Bitch"

Lydia smiled pleasantly as Jackson Whitmore, Lydia's boyfriend walked from behind the Queen Bees, putting an arm around Lydia's waist, the girl reacting with a warm smile, glancing at Jackson.

Felicity took a step to the side, an awkward smile in her face as she looked at Allison who looked uncomfortable "I get it, don't you worry" the shorter girl whispered at Allison.

"Heyy" Jackson greeted flirty, "Ramsey"

"Whitmore" Felicity greeted with a fake smile

Lydia shrugged to herself; at least they were civil. "Hey, Jackson" She smiled charmingly as they began to share a kiss while Allison and Felicity shared uncomfortable looks, the latter making a gagging gesture that made the former to stifle a giggle

The couple pulled away, Lydia fixing her make up as she looked at Allison, "So, this weekend. There's a party"

Felicity groaned "You're making me go?"

"We live side by side" Lydia side-eyed her best friend in boredom "You have to go"

Felicity scowled, "I prefer binge movies"

"Why am I not surprised?" Jackson smirked

Felicity rolled her eyes, practically bitting her tongue to not retort to that, as she had promised Lydia she'd act civil to her boyfriend.

Allison looked at them uncomfortable, flickering her eyes around, not once meeting theirs, "A party?"

"Yeah, Friday night" Jackson answered "You should come"

"Uh, I can't" Allison answered, bashfully. Felicity gave her a pleading look "It's family night this Friday. Thanks for asking"

The couple looked disappointed while Felicity looked betrayed

"You're gonna let me be a third wheel?" Felicity asked as if hurt. Allison froze awkwardly, giving her an innocent smile "Alright, alright. I'll let you pass this one 'cause you're new and all"

Lydia chuckled at her friend's antics.

Jackson sighed. "You sure?" He asked, looking at Allison, ignoring Felicity as he had become good at since he and Lydia began dating. They were a package and had to learn to deal with her "Everyone's going after the scrimmage"

"You mean like football?" Allison asked

Jackson laughed as though she was kidding

Felicity gave him a look as she noticed Allison was serious

"Football's a joke in Beacon" Jackson told her, still chuckling

Allison still looked confused

"The sport here is lacrosse" Felicity explained, giving her a small smile

Jackson nodded "We've won the state championship for the past three years"

Lydia looked at Jackson with a loving expression as she ruffled his hair "Because of a certain team captain..."

Jackson smirked smugly at the compliment "Well, we have practice in a few minutes. That is, if you don't have anywhere else--"

"Well, I was going to-" Allison began

"Perfect!" Lydia grabbed Allison by her hand "You're coming. Fel, stop fooling around and come on"

Felicity dropped her shoulders in defeat as she was called out when she was making her exit, "Right"

Jackson smirked, dropping an arm around Felicity's shoulders as he started to lead her to the lacrosse field, "Come on, Ramsey. You love watching lacrosse"

Felicity grimaced "More like, love watching people getting their ass kicked"

Jackson snorted "Well you'll get to see action today"

Felicity looked curious and interested as she nodded, "Cool"
