~ one moment- one moment we could be the happiest and one moment we could be shattered! Its just a matter of moments and trust!~

*five years before, april 2013*

And they say the school uniform and the daily homework are nothing but a burden. But once you come close to being free, when it's your last year at school, you realize you were the happiest here, when the one ponytail was a bigger issue than what is going in and around the world. So sitting in the cafeteria of their school, St Xavier's high school, Pune, the twelveth standard students were discussing the future prospects coming. Samaira, kabir, shaheen, abhi and roshni, sitting amidst others students of their class, were chatting about what would happen to them five year onwards!

" Five years later you guys will roam around me you know, the superstar abhimanyu rathore, the heartthrob of the cine industry...", Abhi bragged and the rest four laughed at his bizarre dreams.

"Ha-ha-ha-ha...Very funny abhi...You would still be coming to me every other weekend crying that I am broke, like now...", Samiara teased her bestie and abhi made a bad face at her.

" That we would see...", Abhi retorted and samiara made a 'yeah-sure' face at him, teasing him with tongue out.

" Don't worry bro, I know you won't go to her...", Kabir said and abhi smiled at his friend, the ever supporting kind of friend when he noticed even kabir had a mischievous grin.

"Because you would come to me, the successful entrepreneur, kabir malhotra...", Kabir said and all others burst out laughing.

" And I can help too. I would be the proud interior designer of the era...", Roshni smiled at him, a sheepish shy smile and abhi glared at the four of them.

" Come on shaheen, say something too...", Samiara nudged shaheen and she looked at them confused what to say.

"I don't know about future. Whatever allah thinks is good for me would happen...", She spoke timidly, looking at her dessert because she knew they won't understand her view, not atleast now. They were too into themselves to see how and when god was seeking them. But she also knew that one fine day, they will too understand His importance in life and she would gladly help them until.
But while she was so busy in her own world, Abhi had already been irritated a lot and he was sitting all grumpy while others were taking thousands of efforts into the manofying session. He was still acting to be grumpy and shaheen was looking at him, smiling at how important he was to everyone and how he always had people around him. She envied him sometimes. Always surrounded by a bunch of crazy heads, he was the popular guy of the school. Caring parents, loving friends, good grades, he had it all, along with his passion of ruling the bollywood one day. And he might some day. His looks and the charisma he carried around was undoubtedly magnetic.

"Where are you lost mohtarma?", Abhi called her out and shaheen gave a shy smile signifying nothing. The bell rang and they left for their classes.

By the time school was over, both samaira and roshni's cars were waiting outside the school. Samaira dragged shaheen with her, like every other day where shaheen tried to convince her to let go by her own and samaira denied her every time. Abhi and kabir were waiting on abhi's bike for the girls to leave and silently chuckling at them. Having no choice, shaheen sat with samaira and roshni entered her car and the five pillars of their friendship left the school together, like always.

Samaira dropped shaheen outside her orphanage- basera, and as usual cribbed for her to leave this place and shift with herself, but with the self respect shaheen had, she always politely denied her. The orphanage had been her home for the last 15 years, since that fateful night when someone had dropped her here, outside the gate just with her name tag. At that time, she could speak only two words- maa and allah! The orphanage owner, Mrs khan, took her in and now she was her ammi and her caretaker. She respected her a lot and could never ever think of leaving that old lady behind. So, samaira left dejectedly and shaheen laughed at her expressions before entering the orphanage.
Samaira on the other hand, parked the car outside her penthouse. Leaving in city like Pune, all by herself, she had grown to be stronger and way more mature than her age. But with her four idiots around, she again became the silly samy, her childish zeal and tantrums sometimes irritated all of them. And yet they pampered her and loved her for who she was- the small petite girl with a big grand heart. Her parents, precisely her father, worked in U.S. and sent her a huge amount every month. It was just he never had time for her, busy in work as he called it over his once in a fortnight phone calls. But samaira knew, he had married someone else there and was happy in his new family, away from her. Samaira reminded him of her mother, the women he hated for abandoning them and fleeing away when samaira was just 2 years old. And when she had turned 10, he left her alone with her nanny, meera, and went to U.S. and after these many years, she had finally learned living without him, or so she tried to convince herself every single day.

Roshni on the other hand entered her bungalow to welcome the site she detested. Her parents busy in another page 3 party. She entered only to be dragged by her mother who was already pretty drunk, to be intoduced to her other fellow mates. She wanted her to go on a date with some boy who was her friend's son or whatever. The boy winked at her as he ogled her school uniform clad figure and she felt nauseated. Somehow controlling the tears that threatened to fall any minute, she shot a glance at her sick parents and removed her hand from her mother's grip before running to her room upstairs, calling samaira simultaneously to inform that she was coming over to her place.

Abhi and kabir on the other hand just crashed at abhi's place and were busy ravishing the tasty snacks abhi's mother had just handed them. Out of all of them, the most loving and caring parents were blessed to abhi. He had a picture perfect life- lovely parents, caring friends, good looks, set ambition, soulful voice- everything one could wish for. He respected that too, especially seeing how the rest four of them craved for the love of their parents. Especially kabir, who had parents for the name sake, since his folks were always busy fighting and shouting at each other, for god knows what reasons. Kabir never said it to him, or for that matter to anyone, but abhi had seen him wiping his eyes whenever abhi's mother showered abhi with motherly love. And quietly abhi had told his mother about that and now his mother, Shweta Rathore, was a loving mother to all five of them. Sometimes everyone teased abhi that shweta loved kabir and others more than him, but he always laughed at them. He was happy that was- seeing all his life lines happy and smiling, no matter what it took for him. And so when samaira called him to her place, telling about roshni, both didn't take even a minute to think. They drove off to her place asap and even shaheen came off, as they took on their mission to make roshni happy. Roshni was the baby of their group, too sensitive for a world like the one she lived in, too adorable and someone who was the binding link for all five of them. Hence what followed was a happy banter of song and dance and laughter and cake and food, until roshni fell on the couch laughing and silently thanked god for such amazing friends. After all friendship is the best gift!
