We Need To Find Out
Janet's P. O. V
"Come out of whatever dreamland you're in, cousin," Kiara shakes me out of my thoughts.
I clear my throat."Sorry."
"You don't have to be sorry for thinking about Steven, Janet. It's absolutely fine," Kiara smirks and I scowl.
"Will you stop!! I wasn't thinking about Steven, okay? And he doesn't like me," I yell and Kiara smirks.
"Well, we are going to have to test that," she sings in her mischievous voice and I glare at her.
"Whatever your thinking of doing, it's not happening. Don't pull any stunts, you get me?" I warn her but she fails to take the hint.
"I'm not pulling any stunts. It's just one small experiment, I swear!" she pleads and I shake my head.
After what happened today morning, anything involving Steven is a bad idea.
"Kiara, listen to me please. Just don't do anything okay?" I ask her and she studies me with a frown before nodding.
"Okay. I'm going and changing. See you at dinner," she says before leaving the room and I sigh.
I sit there with my eyes closed trying to calm my racing thoughts for five minutes when my phone decides to ring.
"Hey," I answer the phone and I hear sobs on the other end.
"Janet, can you guys come over please, this is urgent," Delna says in a small voice and I'm immediately on my feet.
"Delna, stop crying please. I'm on my way," I say and cut the call.
I grab my essentials before running to Kiara's room. I knock the door impatiently and she opens up with a bored look.
"I said I'll see you at dinner not be-" she says and I cut her off.
"It's Delna. We have to rush. Grab your things," I say and she immediately understands.
She takes only ten seconds and she's out. Luckily she had still not changed.
We both rush downstairs and out the door to the car.
I wonder what this new problem is all about...

"Delna!" I yell just as I entered the her room. Her housekeeper let us in and we dashed straight to her room.
She's lying on her stomach with her head stuffed in a pillow. She raises her head to look at us before she lets it fall back in it's place. I exchange a look with Kiara before both of us walk to either sides of the bed.
"Delna, can you skip the suspense and tell us the problem. We're both starting to freak out a little now," Kiara broke the silence while I shook her by her shoulders.
She gets up slowly to sit straight but she's still looking down.
"I've been hiding something from you guys," she says softly and my eyes widen.
I exchange a look with Kiara who surprisingly looks like it's no big deal.
"Yeah, you had a thing with Andrew and you hid it from us. Nothing new," Kiara says and relaxes on the bed and my eyes widen.
"What? You guys became a thing and you didn't even tell me? How could you Del, I thought we were buddies, this is-" Kiara cut me off.
"Jan, drop the act. Both of us knew they had the hots for each other," she says sounding like it's the most obvious thing.
"Yeah, but they were not dating. How did it go from not acknowledging each other's feelings to sucking each other's faces?" I asked with skepticism lacing my tone.
"Well, thank you so much guys for listening to me, I feel so much better," a sarcastic reply came flying out of Delna, slapping Kiara and me on it's way.
I bit my tongue before raising my finger to my mouth and Kiara just pouted. "So you want us to follow the formalities of apologizing and pleading you to tell us or you'll get to the point?" Kiara says with a smirk and Delna narrows her eyes at her.
"Remind me next time to keep you out of my sorrow hearings," Delna taunts and I sigh.
"Guys! Delna!" I yell and she nods before continuing.
"You guys know that night when we had gone out to celebrate Kiara's president election to Grand Central?" she asks and I nod, knowing exactly where this is going.
Finally she's fessing up.
"Well, Janet remember how I told you that I dropped him home with his mother?" she asked me and I nodded, keeping the smile in.
"Yeah, I lied. That night uh-no one was home. So I had to go up to his room and drop him. There I saw his room was a mess and there were things scattered and I saw all his clothes and that odd tiger pr-" Kiara cut her off and I frown when I hear tiger.
"You're rambling. Besides, we don't want to know what his room was like. What happened?" she said and I nodded in agreement with Kiara.
"So uh-he was in a bad shape. So I helped him till he was ready to sleep. But just as I was turning around to leave, he stopped me. Then he said he wants to talk to me. So I sat and he started talking about everything lame and unimportant. He was clearly not in his senses and so his talks were funny and so I was continuously laughing," the rambles continued and we sighed.
"Okay, what happened?" Kiara asks again, this time stressing on each word.
"Can't you guys just guess already!?" she yells and I laugh, unable to control anymore. Kiara just smirks.
"Well, are you sure you want us to take forward what we are imagining?" Kiara says with a naughty smile and Delna's cheeks heat up.
"It was just a kiss and a very drunk I like you," Delna said too quickly and softly, thinking we would not catch it.
"Oh. That's it?" Kiara said, sounding a little disappointed.
"It's okay Kiara, it's still progress," I added.
"Yeah, but what is the problem? Why are you crying about it?" Kiara asks and Delna frowns and sighs.
"Because he's behaving really weird off late. He barely comes to school, lies about being ill, doesn't talk much-" I cut her off.
"Lies about being ill? How do you know he was lying?" I ask her and she bites her lip before replying.
"So he told me he was ill and he wants to be alone. But I really wanted to see how he was so I decided to visit with a box of his favourite donuts to find him missing from home. He told his mother that he was at school and so she was surprised to see me," Delna explained and I shared the this-is-fishy look with Kiara.
"Okay, Del. Don't worry. Andrew is now officially under 'observation'," I said and Kiara smirked.
Well, observation was our word for hard-core stalking.
"But how are you guys going to manage it? You guys have qualifiers this week na?" Delna says and Kiara's smirk changes to a full blown smile.
"You're right. I have to qualify and then Janet has to ask someone out. Too much work. But don't worry, we'll manage. We can start observation tomorrow and-" the ping of my and Kiara's phone cuts her off. Both of us check our phones and sigh.
"Or maybe not. Observation will have to wait for a day," Kiara finished while I bit my lip. Kiara's not so subtle reminder of the bet, the anxiety of the qualifier, the beach incident, Andrew and last but not the least, Steven Rome were too much to handle all at once.
I'm in some deep deep shit.
"It's going to be one hell of a week."

Its been a while. I know. But now that I've been reading alot as a part of my course, I realise just how much I need to improve how I write. That's why, somehow, what I read previously sort of discourages me to write ahead. But I have to finish what I started and so I'll write, trying to write as well as I can :)
