Real long chapter ahead.
Kiara's P. O. V
It's Saturday.
The day Jason is supposed to take me some place I know nothing about. He might just dump me in a trashcan after murdering me and no one will ever know.
Stop exaggerating Kiara! Anyways you've already told Janet so no need to worry...
I look at my self one final time in the mirror, making sure my black jeans and white crop top don't look out of place. I run a hand through my hair, that I have left loose for now. I sling my bag over my shoulder before looking away from the mirror and walking out my room.
It's almost evening with the sun beginning to set. Jason texted me that he'll be here in another ten minutes so I rush down to wear my shoes because he sent me that text precisely seven minutes ago.
I see my mother in the kitchen and Janet sitting on the counter, a lost forlorn look on her face. She was at the beach today morning and I wonder what has happened there.
Remind myself to come and ask her.
"Bye, I'll be back in a while. Don't wait for me for dinner if I'm late," I yell and catch the attention of both ladies in the kitchen. My mother smiles and nods while Janet just gives me a poker face, biting into her apple.
I swing the door open and walk out just when a very expensive looking black car pulls up in front of my house.
Don't ask me the model number, I don't know. The only thing I know about them is that they have four wheels.
He pulls his window down and smiles his sweet charming smile at me and I take a moment to capture the scene in my head.
A cute guy coming to pick me up in an expensive looking car. Looks like I can finally scratch that out from my bucket list.
And who knew it would be the cute school nerd.
I shake my thoughts off."Hey," I smile when I reach near his car.
"Hey, come let's go," he greets back and ushers me inside his car.
I sit in the passenger seat and he switches on the radio. You make me feel starts blasting through the speakers and he starts humming along while tapping his fingers on the wheel.
He turns the key and the engine roars to life before he swiftly pulls us back on the road. He drives at the perfect speed, fast enough to give me a rush and slow enough to make me feel safe.
Plus points for him.
I started looking out of the window, enjoying the ride.
*After some time...*
"Nah nah nah nah nah, you make me feel good, nah nah nah nah nah," Jason nearly shouts. I look at him to find him bobbing his head up and down, while moving his body in a weird to and fro movement.
I control my laughter and watch him with amusement.
I never knew he had this side to him.
He suddenly looks at me, his eyes go wide and mouth open, he quickly looks away, his cheeks turning pink. It's almost as if he had forgotten I am in the car as well.
He starts looking outside the car in embarrassment, as if he made a mistake.
But truthfully, he was only enjoying himself. Something that he needed to do more often.
I was actually enjoying it too and I wanted him to be himself around me because clearly, he hides a side of him away from the eyes of the world. I want to see that side.
So I start singing as well.
"Put your hands up, put your hands up," I sing and raise my hands up and move them, nearly jumping in my seat like a maniac.
His head jerks in my direction and he looks at me, baffled. I glance at him and smirk at his expression, winking at him in return.
"I love dancing," I admit with a sheepish grin.
"So why did we stop?" he says with a full blown smile and we both start dancing or should I say making weird movements with our hands and torso.
We were having a great time acting like kids. It felt good, relaxing, free.
I loud honk breaks us out of our daze. An old man is scowling at us. I frown at him.
What's his problem?
The minute I pull the mirror down to deal with him, he starts howling.
"You stupid high schoolers, get your party of the road-" I cut him off and roll my window back up and stick my tongue out at him.
Deserves it for stopping us from having a little clean fun.
He looks beyond agitated and he flipps his finger at us and hurries past ahead of us.
I look at Jason and in that instant, we both knew what we were thinking.
How dare he!
We both turn to him and make a boo face, before flipping our fingers at him.
Once he is gone, I sigh and cross my arms over my chest while Jason starts driving again.
"What's wrong?" he asks me while giving me a sideways glance.
"I was having fun till he ruined it," I crib and frown, my nostrils flaring in irritation.
"We can always do it again," he says and smiles.
The corners of my mouth twitch up and I nod.
"So, where are we heading...," I ask him, turning in my seat to face him.
"Somewhere," he answers looking ahead.
"OH, oh my God, I did not know that! Thanks for informing me!" I exclaim, sarcasm dipping from my tone.
"Your welcome," he says with an easy smile on his face.
I sigh and sit back more comfortably in my seat, the evening sun peeping in through the window.

"Jason, we aren't in the main city anymore, right?" I ask him, after alot of thought, trying to sound as calm as possible.
I didn't think he was going to kill me. I am trying really hard to not think like that.
But I'm curious because we have been driving for almost an hour now and we're out of the city, but I have no idea where we are heading. The sun will set in like half an hour and it's going to be dark after that and it's kinda freaking me out.
"Kiara, don't worry. I'm not going to murder you. Besides, we're almost there," Jason says, amusement clear in his voice. I give him a weak smile.
"Offcourse you're not going to kill me, I'm not thinking about such stuff, I'm not so ridiculous-" I ramble, talking really fast, not thinking. Jason cuts it short.
"We reached. Come on, we don't have much time," he says and moves out of the car and to my side in an instant, while I sit there, still processing everything.
He opens the door for me and I smile at him before getting down. He closes the door and turns around rushing towards a house at a distance. I stand there, confused what to do.
I look around, the beauty of the place too overwhelming for me. The car was moving and so everything was a blur but now, when I'm standing still and looking around carefully, my eyes can't help but sigh in ecstacy.
It's beautiful.
The hills not too high but covered in trees that, in the red light of the setting sun, seem illuminated. The shadows of the trees seemed to run into each other, forming beautiful patterns on the hills.
Someone shaking my shoulders pulls me out and I snap out of my appreciation."Kiara! Come on! We don't have much time. We'll miss the perfect moment," he says and I nod in my daze.
He holds my wrist and pulls me behind him. I have to jog slightly to keep up with him and try really hard not to trip. His hand on my wrist and my skin tingling because of the warmth it's emitting is distraction enough for me. So with everything racing through my head together and my mind completely confused, everything a blur around me because of Jason's eagerness to catch the perfect moment, I decide to just go with the flow.
I let myself get pulled and in no time we are climbing the wooden steps of the small red ranch house, Jason leaving my hand and knocking on the door of the house.
The door swings open in no time, a girl maybe a couple of years younger to us jumping on Jason for a hug as soon as she sees him. I just stand there nervously, playing with the hem of my top.
Her eyes fall on me while hugging or more like choking Jason and I give her a slight smile mostly because I somehow don't want to smile at her.
You don't even know the girl Kiara.
Yeah, but she's hugging Jason and you don't like it.
Please, stop being ridiculous.
Whatever helps you sleep at night.
I shake my head rapidly to shut out the argument between my conscious and mind, if that even makes sense.
The girl comes closer to me and puts her hand out for me to shake."Hey, I'm Jenna, Jason's cousin. Nice to meet you," she introduces herself and a smile involuntarily falls on my face.
Oh so their only cousins.
Like it matters anyway...
I shake my head again. Focus Kiara.
"Hey, I'm Kiara. Jason's classmate," I say and shake her outstretched hand.
"Oh, classmate," she says, a slight disappointment in her voice.
Jason suddenly walks in the middle of it, his previous eagerness back.
"We'll do this later. Jenna, did you do what I asked you to?" he asks and she nods, immediately turning and walking inside the house. Jason turns to me and then my clothes.
"Uh, does this top fly too much?" he asks me and I narrow my eyes at him.
"No, not that much," I say truthfully and he nods. Jenna returns with heavy equipment in her hands and Jason starts wearing it on his own. Jenna starts making me wear mine.
"Guys...uh-now might be a good time to tell me what the hell is happening," I say and both of them exchange a glance before Jason speaks up.
"You said you want to see the world from the top, right?" he asks and my eyes widen before I nod really slowly.
"Yeah, uh-so that's what we're doing. We are going to do paragliding, see the world from the top," he says and my mouth falls open and I stare at the boy in front of me.
He did all this, for...me?
"Jason, but I haven't done paragliding before," I say stupidly, mentally cursing myself.
"Uh-so like do you want to uh-fly with me?" he asks, his glance falling on Jenna every now and then before looking down and then back at me.
I smile."I guess that's a good idea," I say and immediately walk towards him readily to be strapped in. He just gives me a nervous smile. Jenna walks to us with a mischievous glint in her eyes and her lips almost twitching up before she starts getting us ready.
*five minutes later*
"Okay, so guys, basic instructions quickly," Jenna says after strapping us in and then tells us the do's and don't's, mostly for me since I'm the first timer here.
A/N- let's just assume the guy is Jenna explaining everything to Jason and Kiara. I'm sorry guys, I've never done this before but I wanted it to be authentic. You don't have to necessarily watch the video though.
"Okay guys, ready?" Jenna asks us and I look over my shoulder to see Jason already staring at me. I turn around again before nodding.
We run ahead together before launching into the air. The wind is strong on my face now and it's difficult to keep my eyes open but I still fight against it, keeping them open none the less.
Why? Because Jason was right. This is the perfect moment. The sky is painted in shades of different warm colours and alot of paragliders are up in the sky, looking like colourful birds against the background.
It's surreal and beautiful. And it's taking my breath away.
I get so busy with the scene in front of me, I almost forget I'm already flying.
I look down, the meadows and grass seeming like a sheet of grey silk.
I look up again and take a deep breath.
I've sure taken thousands of those my entire life, but this one seems like a real, meaningful one.
And in that moment, when I'm high up in the air, the wind softly caressing my body and my mind free, I can't help but wonder about the guy with me right now, who for some odd reason, made it his job to fullfill my wish.
"Thank you Jason. You were right, this is the perfect moment. The perfect view. I can't begin to-" he cut me off again.
"Shh-You can thank me on the ground Kiara. Just enjoy for now," he whispers in my ear softly, his warm breath tickling me slightly.
I look back at him, the soft rays of the sun shadowing the contours on his face, his eyes shining with a light enough to illuminate every corner of my soul. I smile because, then and there, I felt something change. I don't know what did, and I don't want to bother about it now.
All I care about is this moment, the perfect moment and I want to capture every second of it.
