Kiara's P. O. V

So, after a rather awkward hug with Janet, all thanks to my blunders, I focused solely on Andrew and Delna.

Well, mainly because I couldn't focus on my prime two, my cousin and Jason.

Which makes me realise now, how quickly Jason has moved up the ladder of significance in my life.

It's funny how Delna is so cool with Andrew right now, with hearts in her eyes for him when just recently, she was complaining of his weird behaviour.

It's time I confront her about it...
There is definitely something these two are not telling us.

And so, I keep trying to find the chance to catch hold of her alone but it doesn't really happen. On the way to the Great Escape as well, they were both stuck to each other like they were attached, right in the middle of the jingbang.

I gave up soon and started to look for Janet because God knew that if this feud has to end, I'll have to take the initiative.

I found her talking to Jason, at the back of the crowd. She seemed really sad and Jason had this gentle comforting sparkle in his eyes, the one that's there when he's convincing someone that it's going to be okay.

All those times I used to fuss and get angry, he used to calm me down. It was not really what he used to say. I barely paid attention to that. It was this sparkle in his eyes that I could stare at for a hundred years.

There was something about it that made butterflies go up in my stomach and make my heart melt in my chest. In that one moment, I knew nothing could go wrong for me.

Cheesy but true.

I'm sure Janet will feel better. I'll talk to her once we've reached.

The direction of my thoughts shift when we reach the Great Escape.

There I see something rather odd.

There's alot of people casually standing out of the restaurant. It's an unusual amount. They seem pretty normal in their pants and shirts, all of them having something to do but the fact that their all standing out, not so far from each other, is what is peculiar. Not wanting to sound too dramatic, but it's like those scenes from the movies, where a larger group of people gang up to capture a single person.

There's also a sudden shift in Andrew's behaviour. He peeps in the restaurant and keeps on looking around before his eyes slightly widen at something. That's when he turns to us and suggests we go to his house.

Is it only me or there is something else going on here?

Where are the J's?

Both Jason and Janet have disappeared in thin air shortly after we reached Andrew's house.

I spent some time with the rest of the crew before I found these two missing and decided to look for them. All the crowd has gathered in the hall and Andrew, for some weird reason, has all the windows shut close.

He wants to suffocate all of us?

"You need to fess up Andrew, what is going on? Why are you hell bent on suffocating us by packing your house like a box?" I hear Jason's voice when I'm about to climb up and go to the bedrooms to look for them.

I move towards it and enter the kitchen to see Jason, Andrew and Delna standing there, near the counter. All the kitchen windows are shut as well.

"Hey Kiara," Andrew begins, when they all see me, trying to sound normal.

"Cut the crap. I heard you guys fighting. What's the commotion about?" I ask them and Jason looks between me and Andrew before finally staring Andrew down.

"That's exactly what I'm trying to ask him, what is going on? Why is he caging us in his house?" Jason asks and Andrew gulps before staring blankly at him, his gaze almost pleading.

"Yeah, I was going to ask you too. It's suffocating!" I say and he exchanges a look with Delna who looks very nervous.

"And Delna, we need to talk," I say and her eyes widen before she nods nervously.

"So..." Jason prods and Andrew finally speaks up.

"It's because...I'm used to living like this, also less sound travel to the neighbourhood and we will be saved from public scrutiny..." Andrew begins and Jason rolls his eyes.

"If you're done with the pathetic attempt of lying, will you please say the truth? And don't tell me you're not lying, we both know I'm not going to believe you. So you start coming out with the truth or I will start," Jason gives a clear cut warning and Andrew sighs. He runs a hand down his face and stares at his feet for seemed like forever.

But what he says next shocks the life out of me.

"You know that someone is coming after Steven right?" he says and Jason nods. My eyebrow raises slightly at that.

Wait...he knows?

"Yeah, so that someone has finally put a face to the name Chase. Not only Chase, but they also recognise Janet and Kiara as Steven's weak point. So, they are coming after all three of them," Andrew says and chills immediately run down my body.

Someone is coming after me!? Who is this Chase?

"Who is this Chase! How do you know him! Wait...those chits in Janet's locker...that warning...it was you?" I say, my mind processing the newly acquired information and joining the dots.

Andrew just stares at me before looking down guiltily and nodding.

"Who are these people? Where are they now? What do they want from us? Are they behind us only because of that asshole?" I yell, breaking into hysteria. Jason holds me from behind and I turn to look at him.

"You can't break down Kiara, not now," he says, that sparkle in his eyes.

His words make sense to me and I take deep calming breaths.

"Andrew, we have to leave and take these girls some place safe, now," Jason says and Andrew thinks a little before nodding.

"Look for Janet and let's run as fast as we can."

I wanted to finish their part in this chapter but it's turning out to be too long. Hence a shorter update now with another one coming up shortly.
