Dinner Da-isasters
Guys, the media picture is like a little trailer for what the future holds so, have fun ;D
Janet's P. O. V
"Janet! open the fucking door," Kiara screams from outside and I groan. I'm in no mood of getting up from the comfortable position I'm in, on my bed, but she doesn't want to take the hint.
"Coming,"I yell back before keeping my laptop away on the nearby table. I make my way to the door and swing the door open.
"Janet wh-wait, what are you wearing?" she asks me, looking at me from head to toe.
"A pair of shorts and a tank top," I say in a duh-tone.
"I can see that. What I mean is why aren't you still ready? Steven has come and not to mention, he's brought Jason along with him."
I scoff before chuckling."Why would he do that?" I say and she glares at me.
"He says you invited him."
The amusement wipes off my face."When on earth did that happen?"
She shakes her head in the air before rolling her eyes and muttering something."You're right. It didn't happen on earth. It happened in Steven's dreams. Douche bag."
"Uh-uh. Don't curse my brother in law," I say and she shuts her eyes and rubs her temples.
"Don't ever say that again. Now go and get ready," she says and I roll my eyes.
"Jason, the guy you're romancing onscreen and Steven, the guy you're romancing offscreen, have come to meet you're mother. I still can't find the part where I have to come, moreover get ready for it," I say sarcastically, stressing on the 'you're'.
She sighs before shaking her head."So you're just going to abandon me..."
"Stop. Fine I'm coming."
She smiles victoriously before walking down and I follow her.
I walk into the room to see my aunt laughing gladly with Steven and Jason.
"Hey Jason, I'm so glad you accepted my invitation," I say, with the best fake smile I could muster.
A fearful look passes his face before he covers it up with a smile."Wouldn't miss it for the world."
"I'm so glad you girls invited the boys over, they're so sweet. And Steven, I'm so glad a guy like you is dating my daughter, I was so scared she would pick up some punk-" my aunt expresses her pleasure but she's cut off when Jason chokes on the glass of water he is drinking.
"Son, are you okay?" my aunt asks Jason, turning towards him while Steven raises an eyebrow at him from behind my aunt's back.
What on earth...
"I'm okay," Jason smiles at her and she smiles back at him before turning to Steven again, who's expression changes from frowning to a bright smile faster than the lightning.
My aunt puts a hand on his hand before smiling at him."I'm really happy."
Kiara, who is standing next to me and watching this whole exchange nervously, sighs while I smirk.
"Looks like aunt approves of my brother in law," I whisper and wink at her before she scowls at me.
This is not so bad...

"Mom, I guess you should hear the story about how we met and fell in love from Janet. She was so excited yesterday morning about you meeting Steven and she absolutely loves our story, so she's the best person to tell you," Kiara smiles up at her mother while I choke on the food I just gulped in.
We just sat at the table and my aunt served us all with food before propping the Inevitable question-'How did you guys meet and fall in love'.
And Kiara, waiting for a chance to get back at me, took the opportunity.
"Uh-" I stammer, looking around. Steven crosses his arms on his chest and sits back while Jason gives me a sympathetic look. Kiara just can't seem to control her victorious smile while aunt looks at me hopefully.
"Uh-Their meeting was very unique, nothing like the usual couples," I start off and my aunt smiles, looking at both of them.
"Come on, skip the suspense, just spill," my aunt asks me and I smile before chuckling nervously, looking around the room for some story to magically pop up.
"Well they met at the-" I look around the room for something when my eyes settles on the window,"curtain shop!" I exclaim and immediately regret it.
"Curtain shop? Why would they meet at the curtain shop?" my aunt asks me, confused. I open and close my mouth like a fish. Steven and Kiara look at me like I have grown an extra head while Jason seems to be having a hard time controlling his laughter.
"Uh-yeah, curtain shop. Steven used to follow Kiara to the curtain shop," I say and my aunt's eyebrows shot up.
"Darling, why would you go to the curtain shop?" my aunt asks Kiara and I sigh, thinking I was saved.
"Mom, don't ruin it for Janet. She'll tell you," Kiara says sweetly and my aunt nods in understanding. She turns to me again, waiting.
"Well, uh-" I think hard and say the first thing that comes to my mind," Kiara liked Steven too so she used to uselessly go to the mall and then she used to hide behind the curtains," I say the most nonsensical thing I've ever said in my entire life.
My aunt raises an eyebrow in amusement at Kiara and she just shrugs before glaring at me for making her look like a fool. Steven seems to be neutral about it while Jason had his knuckles in his mouth to control his laughter.
"Well, it is pretty unique, something I never thought would have been possible. Anyway, what happened next?" my aunt's asks me and I shrug nervously.
"Yeah so, she hid and then he found her and then he hid and she found him and that way, while playing, they gave each other their heart away," I say with a sweet smile and I could see Kiara face palming mentally.
My aunt just awes at them before continuing with her meal. I release a breath of relief. Kiara is glaring at me, Steven has an amused smile on his face while Jason look constipated with how much he's trying to control.
***************************
"We are going to Janet's room mom, all four of us," Kiara yells and I narrow my eyes at her. We finished our dinner and aunt insisted on them waiting for a little longer.
"Why my room?" I ask and she glares at me in the please-understand way.
I nod reluctantly before climbing up towards my room, the two boys following us.
I swing the door open and settle on my bed, while the other three walk in.
"You have a play station?" Jason asks me, shocked, while I flash him a proud smile.
"Not only do we have a play station, but we can play and beat anyone's asses," Kiara says proudly and Jason scoffs.
"Well, I like to see for myself. Shall we?" he asks and I shake my head."You three can carry on," I say and Steven corrects me.
"You two can carry on," he says and looks around my room, shocked.
"Why you look so shocked?" I ask him and he shrugs.
"A baby girl's room that's not pink."
I roll my eyes at him while he moves to my desk or more specifically my childhood frame where I'm with my parents.
"Uh- if you don't mind me asking, what happened to them?" he asks softly while Kiara and Jason get busy in the game.
"I lost them when I was four. They had died in a car accident. They had left me with Aunt Darla in the evening to go for grocery shopping and other things. At night Aunt suddenly took me to the hospital and sat me near the emergency room. I don't remember clearly after that because I was sleepy and it's a long time ago. The next thing I remember I am standing in a grave yard with two coffins going under," I say, with a well practiced steady voice, a sharp pain in my throat emerging while trying hard to control my tears.
He moves closer to me and sits on the chair beside my bed before he reaches his hand out and places it on mine, intertwining our fingers. I'm taken aback by his action but when I look him in the eye, I see a very genuine emotion, one that I can't clearly pin point. His hand fits perfectly with mine and tingles rise on the surface of my skin because of the contact.
"It's okay Janet, I know what it's like to live without parents," he tells me. His expression hardens and I squeeze his hand slightly.
"Why?" I ask before I could stop myself. He sighs before looking away and telling me.
"I lost my parents when I was kid too."
"So we do have something in common," I say and smile, trying to lighten the mood. We stay silent for a few minutes, both of us not moving.
That's when I realise.
I look down at our hands and clear my throat. He immediately pulls back and looks away and I fiddle with my fingers, my cheeks heating up.
I swear I can still feel his warmth seep in through my hand.
I look at the oblivious two who were busy playing. I make my way over to them.
"Come on, who's ready to get their ass kicked?"
