xxiii. Following Me

Following Me

I know what I promised you but I also knew you needed me and I couldn't just ignore that feeling. When I went to your room, the next night, I told you that.

"I know you told me to not come tonight but you're wrong. You need me here and I'll be damned if I let you sink back into your dark place."

You had a reason why you didn't want me here and I wanted to know why. You reminded me that you went four night without me and you could handle going some more nights.

I told you, when I was in Europe it was different because I used the shell. I didn't heed the warning Rosalinda told me about. I figured it wouldn't hurt using a few more times and so far you were doing fine from what I could tell.

"I'll be fine, Hayes." You attempted to assure me. "If I do need you, I'll come to you."

"You shouldn't have to come to me when I can already be here. I should be here." I told you. "Tell me why, you don't want me here."

"I told you, you're exhausted and you need your sleep."

I knew that wasn't the real reason. You had another motive. Yet, you kept trying to tell me otherwise until you realize I wasn't going to stop prying until you told me the truth.

"Okay, fine.I don't want you to die because of me and don't say it's your job to protect me either." You admitted. "You might think it would be a great honor to give your life up for mine but I won't. I would fall so deep into my dark place, no one would be able to help me. I would go crazy without you. I wouldn't be able to live without you here with me."

And there it was; the real reason, the truth. You were worried about me, about my life. Then you didn't have anything to worry about but now, I hope you were lying when you said you wouldn't be able to live without me. Because you have to find a way to do so.

You were crying and you didn't even notice as the tears fell from your eyes and slid down your cheeks. I brought you to my body, hugging you. I told you didn't have to worry about me dying because I wasn't going anywhere. It was a truth then but now it was lie and I'm sorry.

"You promise?"

I pressed a kiss to your forehead as I swore I wasn't leaving you on my life. A promise that soon would be broken.

After making absolutely certain you didn't want me to stay with you, I left. Well technically you kicked me out.

When we got to the school, Lily complained about the snow as she headed to the school. I was following behind when I noticed you weren't moving. You stood in the snow, looking at the sky, being a complete weird person.

"Millie, what are you doing?" I asked.

You looked at me and told me you were admiring the snow because it was beautiful. I replied that normal girls would complain about the cold like Lily. You said it was a good thing you're weren't normal. I agreed you with you.

Once we were inside, you walked over to Lily, who was sipping on hot chocolate. Then something strange happened. A bright white light shot out between the two of you. Reid and I exchanged glances before blocking you both. Lucky for us the hallway wasn't yet crowded.

When the light was gone, I asked what had happened and you said you didn't know and asked your sister if she was okay.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She said but she didn't look so convincing.

You asked her if she recognized whatever place you two had saw and she said she had never seen it before. Reid asked what did you two do to make the light appear.

"I just touched Lily's necklace and this image appeared along with a piece of the poem." You told us.

The poem contained all that you and Lily needed to figure out your hidden lives. It took the whole summer to figure it out but when you did, there were questions asked. I have no clue how the poem got to you two or why it suddenly reappeared but whatever it was, it couldn't be a good sign.

I told you two to not do that again because anything could happen. Anything we didn't have control over and we needed all the control we could get.

°§°

I was as confused as you were two days later when Selene wanted to talk to me alone. Whenever Selene called a meeting it was typical about you and Lily and usually Reid was with me but not this time. She wanted to meet with me alone.

When I stepped into her office, I saw why. Sitting in one of the chairs, is a blonde haired girl. She had to be around our age but I never saw her before. There was no doubt she was new.

"Guardian Cipriano, this is Maya Reagans." Selena introduced us. "She's a transfer."

"Okay." I said, not seeing the point of my presence. "Why are you telling me?"

"Because, she is Arysian and seeking to be a guardian, she's under your guidance." Selena informed me. "She has some martial arts training but, she isn't eligible to be a guardian yet."

It was the second semester and it was too late for Maya to enroll for the guardian training class with Vance.

"You graduated top in your guardian class and your ranked high amongst older guardians. I trust that you get the job done well in two months."

I arched an eyebrow. "Two months?"

There was four months left until the school year ended. So, why was Selena only giving me two months?

"Yes, two months." She repeated. "Miss. Reagans already graduated from her home school. She doesn't need any other classes except the training ones. Two months should be plenty of time to complete her training."

I nodded. "Okay, I'll have her ready in two months."

Selena smiled. "I'm sure you will."

Maya followed me, under Selena's orders, and I spoke to her as we walked to your class. I told her, starting tomorrow, she will have morning training and as well in the afternoon.

"I'm looking forward to it." She said, grinning. "And I'm honored that you will be my trainer. I heard a lot about you and I don't wanna fail you."

So, she's a fan. I'll kept that to myself. I didn't want you to know she was in my fan club because let's face it, we both know how you act when you're jealous.

I saw your confused express when I walked into the classroom not alone. Your eyes immediately looked at Maya, taking in her appearance. At first you thought maybe she was a new student, which technically she was, but when you saw her follow me to the back, I knew there would be questions asked.

All day long, you kept looking back at Maya, still wondering why she was here, why she was with me and the moment finally arrived for you to asked your questions. When we stood in front of your door, I told Maya to wait for me downstairs while I "checked" your room for any danger. So did so without any hesitation.

"What's wrong?" I asked you, stepping into your room.

Your stubborn ass said nothing was wrong. You and I both knew that was a lie. You wanted to know why Maya was here and I told you why. You didn't say anything and I reached out to grab your hand, pulling you out of your thoughts.

"Hey. It's going to be fine. She won't be here for very long. Two months at most."

"Two months she will be fantasizing about you." You mumbled.

I smirked. I had a feeling you would be jealous. "Ah, that's what you're really worried about. You're jealous."

"She likes you." You told me.

More like she's a fan of my work.

I shrugged. "She looks up to me."

After quickly checking me watch, I told you I needed to leave before Maya thought something was wrong. I kissed you before leaving.

As I walked down the stairs, I could feel Ms. going through menopause eyes on me the whole entire time I descended. Maya was waiting by the wall for but when she saw me she stood up tall.

"Let's go." I told her as I walked pass her.

As we walked to the guardians' building, I could feel Maya's stare. It wasn't the same feeling as Ms, Devanney. She hated every single men but with Maya it was like she was trying to remember something.

"What?" I ask as I glanced at her at the corner of my eye.

Still looking at me, she responded. "Have I seen you before today?"

"I highly doubt it." I told her. "Your name doesn't ring a bell."

"Not even from Arysn?"

Arysn, our home planet. Thirteen years of being away from it. It was for the better, for our safety.  I shook my head.

"Are you sure?" Maya pressed.

"I'm certain we never met until today."

Maya's morning training got cut short the next day when you wanted to go to school early. You never went to school early unless there was a meeting to go and there wasn't.

"We'll finish this after school." I told Maya.

She took a big gulp of her water before she nodded. "Okay. I'll be ready next time."

When we got to the school, I saw why you wanted to get here early. You wanted breakfast and that was unusual. I asked if you were okay because you never come to breakfast. You said you were hungry as you filled your tray.

Maya walked over to us and she looked at your enormous pile of food and asked you if we're going to get all of it.

She didn't mean it the way you thought she did. I wasn't blind. I knew you lost weight and you were trying to gain it back. You glared at her but then you smiled. You were upset by her words but you didn't want to be rude.

"I'm sorry that sounded so rude." Maya apologized. "Forgive me, Princess Millian."

You told her it was fine and you weren't going to eat all of it. You offered us some of your meal. Maya declined but I took a muffin from you.

"Thank you, Princess." I said with a smile.

I arched an eyebrow when you said we needed our energy up for today. It was Thursday and nothing out the ordinary. Then I figured out what you meant. You sent Maya back and forth on unless errands to your room. At first, I thought you truly needed those things you asked for but after the third time you sent her to your room, I knew better.

"I know what you're doing." I said. "Stop."

You looked at me with your fake innocent eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about."

"You're trying to keep Maya away from me but you can't keep sending her away. She's here to learn what she needs. She's tired and the day isn't even over with."

You told me you were helping Maya with her cardio training and going back and forth to your room is a great way to do so. I told you she didn't need another workout because she train twice a day.

"I didn't know that."

"It doesn't matter if you did or not. You owe Maya an apology." I replied, walking away when Maya returned.

You apologized to Maya and fortunately for you, she wasn't mad at you like I was. Even after I told you, you had nothing to worry about, you still felt jealous. You still felt the need to do something you shouldn't have done.

"Damn, she can sing." Maya stated as we listened to your group sing.

She wasn't lying. Maya enjoyed the song and after the class, we walked you to your room. I was still upset but not as much. Maya wanted to ask you a question but she didn't want to ask while I was standing there.

I was hesitant. I didn't want to leave you alone with a girl we just meet this week but I gave her one minute to ask whatever she needed and I meant one minute. I started the clock when I was out of earshot.

She come down the stairs exactly at fifty nine point one seconds. She cut it close but she made it. We went to go train and she learned from her mistake from earlier this morning.

And if I didn't already have a lot on my mind, James informed me of the rumors going around between you and I. The guardians took it amongst themselves to invade both of our privacy. They had questions for James. I wasn't stupid, I knew James wasn't blind. I knew he suspected we were in some sort of relationship but I also knew, he wasn't the one to snitch. If he were, I would've been locked up months ago.

James thought the rumors would've died down by now since I haven't been sneaking into your room this month but it only made them more curious as to why.

It wasn't anyone of their business. For all they knew, I was assigned to keep you safe and that's all they needed to know.

"Hey, are you okay?" Maya's voice brought me out of my own thoughts of last night.

I focused on her and she was watching me with a concerned expression.

I nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Let's go again."

She sighed. "Look, I already told Princess Millian I wouldn't rat you two out. You have nothing to worry about."

What the fuck?

Maya knew too. I guess this was the semester all secrets came out. Another person I have to worry about knowing our not so secretive relationship.

I narrowed my eyes at her. "And how do you that?"

She shrugged. "I'm a girl and I can see jealousy a mile away."

I needed a plan. I needed everyone off my back, our backs. Nobody else needed to figure out our secret. It was getting out of control and at this rate, we wouldn't have to worry about telling Abe about us, he would find out on his own.

I dragged my hand down my face as I swore to myself.

"I'll help in whatever way I can." Maya offered.

"Why would you do that?" I asked.

"That would be easier but harder if you only remembered me from Arysn. I'm gonna let you figure it out on your own but I will help you."

She kept mentioning Arysn but I have no memories of her. None that I could remember anyway. Yet, she said she's willing to help me and I was going to take her up on her offer. That only downfall was, you weren't going like it very much.

"Okay. You want to help." I looked her in her eyes. "Be my girlfriend."

I planned on telling you what my plan was later that day but an unforeseeable incident happened.

James mentioned a woman named Mallory when I was in Europe and for the entire week, you said nothing about her until today. You needed to see her once a week as required by Selena.

Mallory didn't want anyone in the room except you but like you said, I wasn't leaving. So, I stood off to the side throughout the session and I learned some information you haven't told me and I didn't think you were planning on it.

You were still having your nightmares and you still went back to your dark place and after listening to your song about me being your beacon of hope, I felt obligated to keep you away from your dark place.

I grew angry when Mallory suggested you to see Kyle and Sophie again. I had some words to tell her and I was glad you agreed with me as you got up and walked out the room.

The day was fairly normal until I got word that Abe wanted to meet Maya. Why did he want to meet her? Maybe because he wanted to know who the new guardian was going to be.

I wouldn't know for certain until we got to the mansion. On the way to the mansion, I learned Maya was also a fan of your favorite boy band and I was happy, to say the least, when we reached the mansion to get away from you all.

I took Maya to meet Abe and he wanted to know where she came from and why she choose to become a guardian. Anything that sounded suspicious about her, Abe asked about it.

When he realized there was no obvious threat, Maya was free to go but of course he ordered me to keep an eye on her.

"You don't have to answer me if you don't want to." Maya began. "But who was the girl was kidnapped Princess Millian and what exactly happened?"

I glanced at her and she seemed very curious about the incident that took place last month.

"Her name is Sophie and jealously ran deep." Was all I told her.

Red flags should've been thrown up in the air when Maya asked about Sophie yet they weren't and I didn't learn about Maya's secret until later.

Later that night, I was on my way to your room to inform you about my plan but when I ran into Reid, my plans changed.

"Seeing another girl?" I joked, smirking.

"Actually, I'm looking for Lily." He said.

"If she's not in her room, then she's in Millie's." I nodded my head towards the direction of your room.

He followed me to your room and I immediately noticed the smoke, seeping from underneath the door. Without giving it another thought, I busted the door open and my eyes instantly went to the growing fire.

"What do you two do?" I asked, narrowing my eyes.

Neither of you told us what happened until after we attempted to put the fire out. Reid used a fire extinguisher and when it didn't work, we asked again for the story.

"I used my powers to make a sunlight." Lily told us.

Lily's power created the fire and the only thing that could diminish it was your power. That's what I told  you and you said you couldn't do it. Yet, you didn't have much choice in the matter. If you didn't do it, the fire wouldn't stop growing and everyone would wonder about the mysterious fire that wouldn't stop. It would literally kill everyone and everything.

"You have to unless you want everyone to die." I responded.

You finally seemed to understand the outcome if you didn't put the fire out as you told me to catch you before you fell to the ground. You took a breath before producing enough water to put the fire out. The consequence of not having your necklace, you didn't have your full strength. When I saw your eyes fluttering and your body giving out, I rushed to you before your body touched the ground.

Seeing as half of your room was burned, you obviously couldn't stay in there. I carried you to Lily's room and placed you on her bed.

"How long will she stay unconscious?" I asked as I looked away from you and to Lily.

She shrugged. "I don't know. When I used too much of my power, I'm usually out for a couple of hours but since Millie doesn't have her necklace, it'll be longer."

It took nine hours before you woke up when I returned with food and orange juice. Lily informed me it would help you feel better once you awakened. That's what I told when I walked over to you and when you didn't speak, I did.

"What were you two thinking? You could've lost your life and there would be nothing I could do about it. Do you know how that would make Abe feel to have lost his daughters over something stupid? Over a damn rainbow."

I didn't yell at you but I was upset. Neither you or Lily thought about the consequences that could've been prevented last night. Of course we had to come up with a reasonable story as to why half your room was destroyed. Abe knew the truth and if I were you, I would stay clear from him. His lecture to Lily was worst than mine.

"Anybody could've found out you're the siren and Lily's the seer. Do you know how dangerous that is?" I told you. "Reckless."

"Okay, I get it." You replied, sitting up. "You can stop with the dad lecture. It was stupid of us and it won't happen again."

"You're right. It's not because I'm going to train you."

Last night, after Abe talked to Lily, he wanted to speak to Reid and I. He wanted us to train his daughters on how to control their powers and use it correctly. Because we were the only two, outside of Abe, Lily and you, to have our powers, he entrusted us to get the task done.

"You're going to train me?" You repeated. "How?"

I figure the best way for you understand was to show you rather than tell you. You needed to get your strength back before I told you what my plan was with Maya. As I handed you the orange juice, I told you to find me once you felt energized.

As I reached the door, you stopped me. "Did you catch me?"

You didn't have to ask that question. You knew without a doubt, I wouldn't have let you fall. I turned my head and grinned.

"Of course I did, Boo."

I was walking on the main floor when Maya spotted me and walked in my direction.

"Guardian Cipriano." She said. "I was wondering if you weren't busy, if you could show me around the mansion."

"It is pretty big, isn't it?" I replied and she nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I can show you around."

It wouldn't take me long. I was just going to show her the main parts and the rest she could figure out on her own. I showed her the kitchen, the dinning room, and pointed out where the bedrooms were located. I walked past Abe's office and took her it was absolutely off limited, unless it was a life or death situation.

"What's through there?" She nodded towards the doors that lead to Sophie and Kyle.

"A place too generous for people like them." I said as I continued down the hall.

She didn't press me for more information and followed behind me. I smiled when I saw you, walking over toward us, then I drop it once I realized what I have to tell you.

You figured I must've been showing Maya around and offered to show her the music room.

"You have a music room?" Maya asked, shocked.

"I used to had to one but now it's Princess Millian's." I corrected you. "I'll show you."

We went to the brand new music room and Maya was impressed by how it looked.

"This is incredible." She said. "I don't suppose you know how to play." She gestured to the piano.

You told her you were born knowing how to play and it was the first instrument you learned how to play. You walked over to the piano and your fingers landed gracefully on the keys. I immediately recognized the tune and smiled a bit.

"That sounds lovely." Maya replied. "Did you make it? I never heard of it before."

"I wish but no I didn't. Someone very special to me, wrote it for me."

"That's romantic." She glanced over at me and held my eye contact. She knew what was about to happened. I told her I needed to speak to you in private and she got the hint. She looked at you before leaving us.

"What was all that about?" You asked, lifting an eyebrow.

I sighed. "You're not going to like what I'm about to say." I looked directly into your hazel eyes. "I'm dating Maya."

You didn't believe me. You thought it was a horrible joke but it wasn't. You wanted to know why I was dating Maya. You thought she was blackmailing me, us.

"No, she's not blackmailing me. When she told me she knew about us, I had to do something."

You still didn't understand why I was doing this and I tried to explain it to you.

"Too many people are finding out about us. The more people that finds out, the closer Abe finds out. I need to throw them off and Maya is our best option. People will see us together and our secret stays a secret."

"You don't have to date Maya." You told me. "We'll be more careful."

Our careful wasn't enough yet you didn't want it to be like this. Believe me, I didn't either and I was the one who made the plan in the first place. You wanted us to tell Abe and that was an absolutely no.

"Did you hear what you said? That defeats the whole purpose of keeping us a secret."

"He's going to find out one day. Why not tell him now?"

And once he does, I'm dead.

"You don't understand. We are forbidden. Abe isn't going to like that. He isn't going to agree with us."

You said you would make him see the worth in me and even if you did manage to, it would've mattered. I betrayed him. I betrayed you. I wasn't worthy.

"I wouldn't be doing this, if I didn't have to. Once eyes are off us, I'll break it off with Maya. I swear it but this has to happen." I promised.

You didn't agree with me and you were upset at me because I was the one who came up with the idea. You wanted me to leave and I knew right then and there, I hurt your feelings. Again.

I left you to your thoughts. I told myself I would give you your space before I went back to you. We still have some things we needed discuss but I couldn't discuss them if you didn't want to speak with me.

Ten minutes later, I went back to the music room only to discover you weren't in there. I checked the usual places you went to besides the music room. They were all empty and that only left me with one other choice; outside.

My eyes immediately went to the snow and saw footprints heading to the gazebo. I was heading in that direction, when Bryan met me halfway.

"Have you seen Princess Millian?" I asked him.

He shook his head. "No, sir, I have not."

I narrowed my eyes, slightly. "What were you doing in the gazebo?"

"Same as you. I saw the footprints and I decided to check it out." He shrugged. "It's empty."

His story might've been believable if it wasn't for the other set of footprints coming from the west, coming from where his post was at. Though, I didn't call him out on it. You didn't want to be found and I would allow you to think, you were smart enough to hide from me.

So, I walked away from the gazebo for a few minutes until Bryan was no longer looking out for you. I opened the door to the gazebo and saw you sitting in the far corner, trying to hide.

"Did you really think I wouldn't find you?" I asked.

You said no. You knew I would find you eventually, I asked you why you were hiding from me and you replied you weren't hiding from me.

"Then what are you doing in here? It's cold and you're not even wearing enough clothes to be out here." I said, looking over what you were wearing.

"I'm fine." You told me.

You were the siren and the didn't effect you. You couldn't feel the cold but that didn't mean you couldn't get sick, or die from the coldness.

"No, you're not." I replied, touching you hand. "You're freezing and I know you think the cold doesn't bother you but you're wrong. You need to go inside, right now."

You shot daggers at me. "Why? Why do you suddenly care now?"

I exhaled. "I'm sorry for not telling you but I don't want us to end sooner than it has to if I can do something about it."

I knew I should've told you what my plan was before telling Maya. That was my mistake and I was sorry. I begged you to come with me to get out the cold. You, eventually, took my hand and allowed me to take you inside the mansion to the kitchen.

I made you my famous specialty; French vanilla cappuccino.

"Thank you." You said.

"Are you going to ask if I poisoned it?" I asked, leaning against the countertop, remembering our exact conversation months ago.

I could see the smile you were trying to hide.

"I know you well enough I can trust you not to kill me. But you can help me with this." You pointed to the cream on your top lip.

I smirked. "You're not going to reject me, are you?"

Shaking your head, you replied, "Not this time."

You leaned forward and pressed your lips against mine. I didn't want to scare you so I gently place my hands around your cheeks and a few seconds later, I pulled away, watching for any signs of an panic attack.

You smiled. "Did you get it all?"

I nodded. "You're mustached free." I still watched you.

You told me I could stop staring at you because you were perfectly fine.

"I can't stop staring at you." I told you. "You're too beautiful to look away from."

Even after everything you've been through, the dark circles underneath your eyes and the weight loss, I still thought you were beautiful and strong.

"You kissed me and you're holding my hand." You pointed out. "And we're out in the open. Anyone can walk into here and see us."

I nodded. "I did kiss you and I am holding your hand."

"Aren't you worried about our secret?" You asked, confused.

"No." I responded. "Abe said we can be friends, right?"

Slowly you nodded your head. "Yeah."

"I'm not wasting it then." I told you, squeezing your hand a little tighter. "Far as anyone knows, we're best friends."

Just like Reid and Lily. They acted the same way whether there were people around them or not. You and I were friends at one point of our lives and just because we were dating, it didn't mean you had to hide our friendship as well.

"So, when do we start training?" You asked me when I watched the servants, observing if they noticed us.

I looked away from them.

"Tonight. If you like."

"I'll like that very much." You smiled, mischievously.

Look whose head went straight into the gutter. I think you've been hanging around me too much. You were becoming into such a pervert.

I shook my head, grinning. "It's not going to be that kind of training. I'll be surprised if you still love me afterward."

"I put up with Guardian Lynn. I think I can handle you."

"You sure about that?"

You nodded. "Most definitely. Show me what you can do."

You were going to regret saying that. Maya had wanted to know how everything went after she was dismissed and I filled her in. She still didn't like the plan same as you but she said she was going to keep her word and help us. I haven't forgotten what she said earlier, about her secret. I did plan on finding out what it was.

I met you in the training room along with Reid and Lily. Instead of jump in straight into training, Reid and I thought it would be better for you and Lily to know about your powers.

"What's there to know? Lily has fire abilities and I have water. She can see anything and everything and I can sing." You said.

Reid nodded. "There's more than that. Lily being connected to the sun you can create life."

"I know, Abe already told us that but I don't know what he means." Lily replied.

Last year, Abe told you everything from your mother's death to the reason why we had to flee. He explained the abilities you two had but he didn't cover everything.

"It means you can control any plant, anything the earth offers. It's all in your control. You can make a flower grow in a blink of an eye or you can save a writhing plant. You can give anything life." Reid explained. "Your fire abilities can be useful or deadly depending on how you use it."

"That's...incredible." Lily settled on. "But also very frightening. Can...can I also save a person's life?"

Reid rose an eyebrow, surprised at her question. I didn't know why she would want to know that information. If we would've paid closer attention to her, then we could've prevented what was to come.

"I'm not sure." He said. "I never heard of it happening before but it could be possible. Why do you ask?"

Lily shrugged. "I was just curious."

"You, Millie." I spoke. "are connected to the moon. You have the powers to control animals. Well an animal. The wolves are under your control. Whatever you tell them to do, they will do it. Not only can you control wolves, you can control humans as well."

You wanted to know how and I told you, you could put anyone or anything in a trance. You could make them do whatever you wanted them to do.

"I don't want to do that." You replied, shaking your head. "It's wrong."

"No one is saying you do. It's something you can do if you wanted." I said. "Entering someone's mind isn't as easy as it sounds."

I would know because I've done it once or twice to you without your permission. Knowing how you felt about it, I wouldn't tell you I've done it. I could only imagine what you would to me if you were to find out.

"Moving on, you both have a pet." I informed you.

You and Lily wanted to know more about this unknown pet you two had.

"They're locked away but they're safe." Reid said. "Eventually, you'll see them again."

"Why are they locked away?" Lily questioned.

"Abe ordered it. They're from a different plant. He couldn't have them roaming out the earth without someone seeing them." I replied.

You asked how they looked and Reid told you. Lily's pet was a phoenix and your pet was kind of harder to describe. This closest definition he could give you was a seahorse.

I told you their names; Fury and Aqua and informed you that whenever you needed they, call out for them and they would come to you immediately. Unfortunately you needed the necklaces to do so.

Once you and Lily knew more about your powers, training started. You and I went to the mat.

"So, what do I do, Cipriano?" You asked, smiling.

"I'm going to make you mentally strong. Remember when I said you're going to hate me afterward?"

You nodded. Yes."

I smirked but this wasn't one you loved. You were going to hate what's about to happen.

"I meant it. Don't be surprised if you wake up sore in the morning." I warned you.

I told you what you were going to do and your eyes went wide as your jaw dropped. You said you couldn't do all of that.

"With me, there's no such thing as can't. Can't is for the ones who refused to do it. They won't do it because they're weak minded." I said. "You, on the other hand, can do it and you will do it."

The more I heard the word can't, the harder your work would be. I was your trainer and you were the princess. I would make you more stronger and faster than you could possibly know. I wanted your enemies to think again when they dared to come after you.

"If I do, what's my reward?"

I grinned. "I'll think of something that will satisfy you."

"Oh yeah?"

"Get to it." I said, indicating with a slight turn of my head for you to start your work out.

Your enemies wouldn't be ready for what I was going to turn you into.

A warrior.
