v. Observing You

Observing You

As soon as we got to my place, you went straight for the piano. Last night, you had a dream about Allison's song. You attempted to play it but you didn't get very far. You reached the same place over and over again but yet you still wanted to figure out the song. The song we worked hard for you to forget.

I entered the room. "Since you're playing again, how about a song?"

You looked at me.

"Just because I'm playing an instrument, it doesn't mean I'm going to sing again." You told me, placing your fingers back on the keys.

I sat beside you on the wooden black bench. "You'll figure it out. Take a break. You've been playing ever since we got back." I said.

"I will." You promised. "Once I figure out this song."

You started playing but stop when I placed my larger hand onto of yours.

"Stop." I told you.

You looked into my grey eyes. "Why do you have this affect on me?" You asked, dropping your arms in defeat.

I grinned. "Because I'm-"

"If you say you're irresistible I swear, I'm ignoring you for the rest of the day" You warned me.

"Good luck with that."

You told me you didn't need luck, quoting me. I leaned closer to you and nuzzled your neck. My lips brushed across the outline of your jaw and you arched your neck up higher.

I landed soft kisses along your neck and pulled away. I got up, smirking.

I walked out the room. "You know where to find me." I called over my shoulder.

I headed to my room and exhaustion washed over me. I only got three hours of sleep last night and I drove the four hour back. I was sure as soon as I made contact with my bed, I was asleep.

I felt you wrap my arm around your waist and lay your head against my chest. I wasn't sure how long I was out but it was getting late. You were pressed against me and I smiled at you. I carefully moved you off me and placed you back on the bed. I walked to the kitchen and figure I could cook something for you before you woke up.

"Hey, Sleeping Beauty" I greeted you.

"How long was I asleep." You asked, sitting down.

"I don't know. I woke up a few hours ago to you sleeping beside."

You nodded your head. "What's for dinner?"

"You should be asking what's for dessert." I told you, bringing a plate to you.

You called me a flirt and I pretend I haven't noticed. You told me I had a big ego but I was an amazing chef. I asked if I could get an award and you said you'll think about it.

"What's there to think about." I asked. "I know you want me."

You arched your eyebrow up. "Do you? Well I guess I don't need to keep you waiting."

I smirked as you leaned over the counter that separated us. You moved closer to my lips. Your lips barely brushed against mine before you backed away, grinning.

I looked at you. "Who's the big flirt now?"

You shrugged and continued to eat. You noticed it was getting late and you wanted to leave.

"Or just stay" I suggested.

"No. I have to go."

I followed you and watched as you walked outside. It was sprinkling and you tried to start the car and I smiled to myself when it didn't work. You kept trying but gave up. By the time you got out the car, it was pouring.

"The car won't start" You informed me.

I grinned. "Are you just saying that for you can have a reason to stay with me?"

You rolled your eyes as you walked farther into the house. As you went to go change, I went to go grab something for you. A few minutes later I arrived into my room, holding a guitar. You asked if I was going to sing for you and I said you were. You asked if I was serious and I replied dead serious.

You were curious about how I knew you knew how to play. I told you Teri told me.

"Just try." I said, looking at you with my grey eyes.

You hesitated before wrapping your skinny fingers around the strings. Your fingers strum the soft upbeat music and my eyes never left you. I didn't think anything would come out your mouth but you surprise both of us when the lyrics did.

Merrily we fall
Out of line, out of line
I'd fall anywhere with you
I'm by your side

Swinging in the rain
Humming melodies
We're not going anywhere
Until we freeze

Your voice was absolutely stunning. Ramadi would be pleased by this. Your voice was a pawn in his game.

"I never heard that song before" I told you. "but you have an incredibly beautiful voice."

You gave me a small smile. "Thanks. My dad always said it was special and powerful."

I nodded."He wasn't lying when he told you that. It can do a lot of things."

"Like what?" You asked.

"You can break hearts to healing them. You can make everyone feel your emotions."

You could control them. You could reach out and break them.

"You got all of that by two verses?" You asked.

I shrugged. "Your voice is just that powerful."

You moved the guitar off you and placed it beside you. I watched you with curious eyes.

"Are you not going to sing again?"

You shook your head no. "I don't want to sing. I want to talk."

"Okay. We can do that or... something more productive."

You rolled your eyes. "Can you be serious for two seconds?"

"Okay. Fine. What do you want to talk about?"

Before you could say anything, your eyes grew wide as they turned gold. I thought Lily formed another connection. I tried to see what you saw but I was knocked out your head as soon as I entered. You stared at nothing but saw something.

I grabbed my phone and I called the only person who could help me. Reid.

"Reid, where's Lily?"

"At her house. Why?"

"I need you to make sure."

"Um, okay. I'm leaving right now."

I stayed on the phone with him until he got to Lily's. I glanced back at you and your eyes were still gold. You've been like that for five minutes.

I walked out the room and headed to the kitchen. Reid informed that Lily was in her room, drawing and that made me confused.

He asked me why and I told him that you blacked out ten minutes ago and your eyes were gold as if you were connecting with Lily. Little did I know, that you were standing behind me.

He replied that wasn't possible without the necklaces. Even though it happened before, I agreed with. Then I told him what I thought it could be.

"Reid, I think it has something to do with her singing again. She was playing the song Abe sung at Allison's funeral. It could've trigger her memories. Her brain is trying to remember but needs help."

Reid informed that Lily was having strange dreams and I said it was because she was the seer. She was going see more than you would ever see. I had a feeling Ramadi was behind this but I didn't know how. You shouldn't have been able to even connect with Lily without your necklace. It had never been done before.

Reid made a stupid remark about keeping it hidden from you as long as possible and I snapped at him.

"Easier said than done. She's going to start asking questions. She's remembering. Tell Abe we can't keep them away from each other anymore. The sooner they know, the better. Ramadi is pushing them closer to figuring it out. We need to stay a step a head of him."

Abe wanted you to go with him days ago but I wouldn't let him. I didn't want to Ramadi to have any leads but he already did. I wanted to stay a head of him. He was bringing you and Lily together and I didn't like that. He was up to something.

After Reid said he would take of it, the call ended and I sighed, exhausted. I placed my hands onto of the counter in front of me and took a slow deep breath.

A few minutes later you entered and I didn't notice you until you wrapped your arms around my waist. I tensed up thinking you probably overheard but then I relaxed once you didn't demand for answers.

I turned around so I was facing you.

"Are you okay?" You asked.

"I'm fine." I lied. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I don't know what happened. How long was I out?"

"Not long." I told you me, watching you carefully. "Are you sure you're okay?"

You smiled at me and assured me you were fine and I didn't have to worry so much about you.

But I did. "Someone has to."

You searched my eyes, looking for something and when you didn't find it, you spoke.

"Glad you care so much." You teased.

"Only when it comes to you." I replied back.

We went back to my room and you snuck out when I fell asleep. It wasn't until I heard your voice when I woke and noticed you weren't beside me anymore.

You blinked your eyes as if you were coming out of a daydream.

"What are doing?" I asked.

You said your figured out the first part of the song and I told you I knew because your voice woke me up.

You were getting closer to figure out the song and that meant finding out about your past. You were digging and you weren't stopping. You wanted to know and nothing was getting in the way of that. Not even me.

The next day, Daire invited me to her party. I had no interests in going but when Teri told me you were going I changed my mind.

I had quick meeting with Rhett before the party. He informed that Ramadi was still waiting for his information. I told him, that I didn't get much other than your two verse. Rhett replied that he would pass on the message and vanished. I arrived late to the party and I found you talking to a guy.

My eyes took in your outfit and I got angry for some unknown reasons. You were my girlfriend but at the same time you weren't. I had to remind myself, you could never truly belong to me.

I wrapped my arms around you and drew you closer to me. The guy asked if I was the guy you were talking about and you smiled at me as you replied with the one and only.

He called you a heart breaker and you told him only sometimes but you couldn't break my heart. But later, you did because I broke yours.

I was glad when a girl called his name and his left.

As soon as he was out of sight, I faced you, with narrow eyes.

"What?" You asked.

"You know what."I said."Why were you talking to him?"

You told me it was a party and people talked and I had nothing to worry about. I told you it was hard to do with what you were wearing. You said I had nothing to worry about but you were worried about me.

"Exactly." You said. "I see the way girls look at you. It's kinda hard not to miss."

I grinned at your words. "Are you jealous, Boo?"

You looked away from as you responded. I told you, you didn't have to worry because I only had my eyes on you. Which I did. I was your protector.

I placed my fingers under your chin and turned it so you were facing me. I gave you a quick kiss to assure you.

I told you I was going to have to do something about you and you asked why. I explained because you were too sexy for your own good.

"Oh really?"

"You have to know the affects you have on me. It's powerful."

"Is that so?" You teased. "Do you want me to do something about it?"

I licked my lower lip. "I want you to do a lot of things." I admited.

Things Abe would have my killed for he were to found out.

"Then what are you waiting for?"

I pressed you up against the wall and kissed you with a rush of passion and heated feelings. Your arms snaked around my neck. I suddenly pulled away and smirked at your pouting face.

You wanted to know why I pulled away and I reminded you that we were at a party and you said you didn't care. I told you I couldn't do what I wanted here and you suggested we leave. I said you really wanted me and you nodded. You did want me.

I disappointed you when I said I wasn't ready to take your virginity. I would never be ready. I couldn't be ready. You were a princess and I was your guardian. It was forbidden. It didn't matter if I wanted you.

I took your hand and led you to the dancefloor. I grabbed your hips and we danced.

Hours later you fell asleep only to be woken up a couple hours later. Daire warned us that her parent were coming home soon and she needed our help to clean up. You were too sleepy to care. You were about to go right back sleep but I pulled the covers off you. You got mad and looked like you were about to murder someone but I smiled at you and told you we had to help. You groaned but you still got up.

Daire told us our jobs and we got to it. After everything was spotless, we left. I arrived at my house and when I cut the engine off, he was back in my mind, again.

Two verses, tells me nothing. You either get her to sing a full song or your mother will be in excruciating pain. You will feel it from where you are. Do you understand?

I didn't know if I could get you to sing a full song but I had to try. You needed to sing and I needed to figure out a way to save them. I wrapped my hands tightly around the wheel causing them to turn white. I swore over and over again that I would kill him myself. I was keeping that promise.
