There's a moment of shocked silence. My heart speeds up and I could feel the pulse of it against my ribs.

If I painted the walls black the room couldn't be any darker. The once frilly net curtains at the window are thick with over a decade of grime. The light that struggles through fails to reflect from the once beige carpet that is more like a forest floor in both color and texture. The walls could be any shade at all, I can't tell.

We looked at all the files and video tapes and each of them had my past times or events in my life. I was utterly speechless at this point.

"Sixteenth birthday party?" Says Jax.

"First time singing the alphabet?" I said. "Told you I know my alphabet."

He rolled his eyes at my comment and he continued pursuing the files.

"First time singing at a talent show?"

"Elementary graduation," I said flipping each file as I went along.

"Naked body?"

"What?" I said holding my mouth from opening too wide. "Let me see that."

He handed me the file and I opened it, my jaw dropping from pictures of me naked. "My birthmark was on my ass the whole time?"

"I've been looking for it," I said angrily.

"Why would you be looking for it?" Jax questioned.

"Because Freddy found his birthmark on his back," I replied.

"Hm"

"I think I should get a tattoo on my stomach," I said pointing at the picture.

"I'd rather not," Jax disagreed. "Anyway, to the most important matter of this subject," He continued. "Your not at the least worried about why the hell this whole room is filled with stuff about you?"

"Well yeah," I answered. "Why is Alec keeping all this stalker-ish stuff about me?"

"Look at this," Jax gestured.

He pulled out a file that was named, 'plan.' He opened it and read the contents inside. I looked at it and it was written in Italian.

"How can you understand that?" I asked.

His eyebrows quirked up and he bit his lip before he gave me the videotape that was inside to hold. "We'll watch that later."

"What did it say?" I asked.

"Let's just get out of here before we get caught," Jax insisted. "I'll explain later."

We walked outside the room and I couldn't find Jax anywhere.

"Jax?" I said looking around.

The door hit my back, making me collapse on the floor.

"I'm right here," Jax whispered.

"Jackass," I said rudely.

Jax quickly locked the door back. "Are you going to tell me what the file said now?"

"Not now." He said urgently. "Let's eat breakfast and get out of here."

"No stalling."

"Eating breakfast and leaving is kind of rude," I protested.

"If we stay here any longer, you won't get to know what the file says," Jax said looking annoyed at my comment.

"You know, leaving after we pig out doesn't sound half bad right now," I said quickly changing my mind.

I followed him into the Smiths dining room. Before I could sit down in the seat next to Alec, Jax grabbed my arm and sat me in the other chair.

Instead of enjoying the aroma of croissants, toast, hash browns and all the other confectionaries you could possibly imagine for breakfast on a Sunday morning, the moment I slide into my chair I'm served an enormous platter of food.

A tureen of fruit sits in ice to keep it chilled. The basket of rolls they set before me could have kept my family going for a week.

My stomach was in need of food I was famished and the food that was in front of me was only taunting my noise.

"Hello," Jax said amusingly.

"Hi?" Alec answered profoundly.

"You know how actors are very good at crying and other things," Jax blurted out. "Well, there are a lot of phony actors out there.

"I can name one," Jax continued.

"This dumbass," I said loud enough for Jax to hear. "Jax just shut up."

"Just making small talk," He doesn't seem faxed at all by my insult, he offered me a smug smile that showed his artificial white teeth.

"Well, uh. Elena had to leave so she won't be joining us," Alec said.

"Fine with me," I shrugged.

Damn these eggs are good

I looked at Jax and I could tell he was thinking of something when a smirk tugged on his lips. "What are you looking at-,"

Before I could finish my sentence, he ate one of my strawberries after he dipped it in Nutella.

"Those were mine!" I fumed.

"We could share," He smirked.

"I don't fuck with you-"

He pressed his lips against mine and his tongue slipped into my mouth, exploring every corner of it. I held back a moan in delight from the taste of his lips and tongue which tasted like Nutella.

Common sense hit me and I pulled away from the kiss. The fact that I have just met him two days ago and I'm already making out with him and having feelings. I felt disgusted in myself.

My hands suddenly felt the sweat and my pulse began to quicken against my chest.

"Sorry to leave like this but I'm gonna go home, don't worry about me," I said as I forced myself back on my feet leaving Jax puzzled.

This is not how I wanted my Sunday to go.

Jax and I haven't talked after it happened and It was now Monday, I couldn't help but avoid Jax everything was happening too quickly and I couldn't handle the fact that we were enemies and for a mere second, I liked him. "Is he here yet?"

"Nope," Maya said popping the 'p'. "Why are you hiding from Jax anyways?"

The prospect that I could bump into Jax at any given time is nerve racking.

"Well," I began."I maybe threw a balloon full of paint at him because he wouldn't stop throwing stuff at my window."

"Now look ahead. I wanna make it to class without bumping into him," I looked around the halls for any signs of him.

But Maya didn't give no mind and left me." Maya wait come back!" I groaned. "Maybe I could skip class today."

"No, you won't," I heard a familiar voice say behind me making me jump. "You're going to class nonetheless."

"What's up with the outfit?" I seethed trying to calm down my ragged breath. "Why can't you wear a school uniform?

"This is the student supervisor uniform," He quickly retorts. "Go to class."

"No."

"Go."

"No."

"I'm gonna count to three and you better start walking or you'll be punished," Jax said.

"One."

"Yeah right," I rolled my eyes.

"Two."

"You can't punish me in any way," I remarked knowingly.

"Three."

"Times up. You could've gone to class," Jax said.

"Whats the worst that could possibly happen?" I said blankly.

"Glad you've asked," Jax smirked.

A few minutes later I was outside picking up trash ironically I knew something like this would have happened. "Picking up trash with my bare hands is the worst thing that could happen."

At first, I would swallow my retort and just do it, smile and move on. But that only made it worse. Then he felt empowered to micromanage every little aspect of my life, every damn thing done his damn way. I just wanted to snap.

"More picking, less talking," Jax demanded.

"You cant do this!" I deemed.

"You can actually," He sarcastically retort. "If you don't follow what I say, you'll be punished and the punishment is my choice." He continued. "Don't believe me, ask council James, he'll tell you everything I can do to you."

"You're my pet shortcake."

I froze for a minute at his words, but my urges were overpowering.

"Damn," I huffed. "Stupid Council James."

"Yeah. Yeah," He said ignoring my comment.

My last couple of weeks in school was like utter hell.

I'd find something bad to do.

Jax would catch me.

Then there would be my punishment.

Once again I would have found something bad to do and rebel, he would catch me and then there would be my excruciating punishment.

And no matter how hard I would try to make it fun, he would always stop me and tell me to take it seriously.

It sucks having him as a student supervisor- a student supervisor in general.

I looked at the clouds from inside my classroom which I was stuck cleaning up and it looked like it was going to rain.

Rain makes me go to sleep as if the rain hitting the roofs and pavements were my lullabies. I fixed my sleeves, hiding the bruises that I got when I had to do a punishment.

I was playing too much instead of running and tripped, hitting my arms on a rock. I didn't tell Jax about it. It hurt like a bitch though.

"Why are you standing at the window?" Jax said sneaking up behind me. "You have to go home."

He touched my bruise and I sucked in the air in between my teeth. His hands felt like fire.

"Are you hurting or something?" He asked sounding sincere.

"I-I don't know w-what you're talking about," I stuttered.

He grabbed my wrists and pulled my sleeve slowly pushing it up looking at the big purple and blue bruise that was visible in my arms.

"Why didn't you say anything about this?" He asks."How did you get this, when did you get this?"

"Yesterday when you had me run around the track and I tripped falling on a rock," I said shyly.

"Come," he ordered.

He dragged me outside the school and into the parking lot where he told me to get in. "You have a Ferrari?" I asked.

With my ankles crossed and my knees leaning against the center console, I watch Jax slide into the driver's seat, starting the engine with the push of a button.

"No. I stole it."

I wanted to touch him and run my fingers through his hair. Rubbing my hands together, I force them into submission. Observing his movements, a sigh escapes my lips. I adore the subtle tilt of his head when he turns onto the road. Every movement seems as though he's planned it out ahead of time. Feeling a chill, I rub my arms.

"There's no need to be sarcastic," I sighed. "Why come you never told me or at last showed me where you lived?"

He clenched the steering wheel until his knuckles turned white and he pressed down on the gas pedal, going faster and faster at each second.

"Hey you need to slow down a bit dude," I said holding onto the seatbelt.

He stared at the road and didn't look once at me. I could see the anger in his eyes and the car didn't slow down it still went faster.

"Okay. Stop," I ordered. "Are you about to kill me?"

Silence.

"Jax! Slow down!"

I touched his hand and it eased a bit snapping him out of a trance.

"Sorry," Jax apologized.

The car soon slowed down.

"Oh my strawberries that scared the living hell out of me," I looked at Jax and his face was relaxed, I soon turned my head back into the position it was in before.

"Why'd you get so furious anyway?"

"It's nothing."

"Okay." I left it alone for now, if he doesn't want to talk about it, I'm not going to pressure him into telling me.

"You know something, you treat me like an animal when you're supervising me," I said quickly changing the conversation.

"Hm."

We soon approach Jax's house more like a mansion. "This is your house?" I staggered.

"No. I just showed you this house for fun."

I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out the car along with Jax.

"I sometimes can't ever tell if you're serious or sarcastic because of your blank expression," I said admittingly.

"Just don't make a lot of noise okay?"

"Cue the negative thoughts!" I yelled.

I didn't mean it to come out weird but it did which triggered Jax to glance at me from my comment before he walked up the steps in his house.

My eyes narrow. "What?"

To be continued.
