A/N: Kassidy's Back!! ;)
Im on a vampire kick again and wanted to write something new and change things up from Obsession and Bloodlust.
I'm still working on Bloodlust, Bittersweet, and Rewrite The Stars but this idea came to me and you all know me by now I can't wait to share new books with you all! PLEASE  comment to let me know what you think so far!

Kassidy looked out the window watching the road running under the wheels.
“Come on Kassi don’t give me the silent treatment..” Her father Sean sighed. “You know I’m only looking out for you.”
“I’m 18 Dad. If I want to go out with my friends, I should be able to!” Kassidy spat.
“You had no business being in that vampire bar! ” Sean shouted at her.
“Whats the point of coexisting with Vampires if you won’t let me… coexist?!” Kassidy rolled her eyes.
“Not all of them follow the new laws Kassidy. You were in the wrong part of town, You’re lucky you and your friends weren’t hurt. If you want to hang out with Vampires, fine but make sure you are hanging out with the ones who don’t see you as a meal with legs. I saw the way they were looking at you Kassi and you may be 18 but you still broke the law by even going in there. A Bar is a bar.” Sean sighed as his daughter rolled her eyes again and went back to looking out the window.
“Did you really have to pick me up in the police car? Thats so embarassing.”
“You used to think it was cool.” Sean mumbled and looked at his daughter.
“Yeah. When I was 6.” Kassidy snorted and looked up. Her eyes widened and she gasped as there was a man standing in the middle of the road.
“Dad!” She screamed

Sean looked back at the road and swerved the car so fast that the force caused the car to tip and roll, When it stopped they were upside down in a ditch.
Kassidy was hyperventilating and panicking.
“Hey. Look at me.” Sean said. Kassidy looked at him, with her eyes wild with fear.
“Are you hurt?” He asked. Kassidy shook head.
“I don’t think so.” She said shakily.
“Its going to be okay, I’m going to radio for some help okay?” Sean said trying to keep her calm. “Breathe baby..” He said softly and picked up the little radio on the dash.
“Dispatch, this is officer Cole I’ve been in an a-” He started to say but he was cut off as the window on his side was smashed in and he was ripped from the car.

Kassidy screamed in terror, as she listened to her father screaming outside of the car. It sounded like he was being mauled by an animal. Kassidy was trying to get out of her seatbelt but it was stuck. It was suddenly quiet outside of the car. Kassidy was frozen with fear. Trying to stay as quiet as possible and steady her breathing as she heard footsteps on her side of the car. She squeezed her eyes shut preparing for the worst.
“Kassidy.” A familiar voice said calmly. Kassidy opened her eyes and looked out the window at her fathers partner David Nolan.
“David!” She let out a choked sob.
“Its okay sweetheart, you’re safe. I wont let anything happen to you.” David said. If Kassidy wasn’t panicking, she probably would have noticed that there was something eerie  in the way he spoke, and she would have realized it was odd for him to be here so quickly.
“M..My Dad.” Kassidy stammered.
“Shh, lets get you out of here, are you stuck?” David asked. Kassidy nodded. David reached in the car and messed with the seatbelt until it popped out and Kassidy was free.
“I’m going to pull you out the window okay?” David said. Kassidy nodded again and shifted so he could help her out of the car.
“Are you okay?” David asked. “Does anything hurt?”
Kassidy shook her head, it was probably all the adrenaline but she didn’t feel like she was hurt. She walked around to the other side of the car and screamed as she saw her father in the middle of the road with his throat torn out.

A hand clasped over her mouth muffling her screams and there was a strong arm around her waist pulling her into the wooded area on the side of the road. Kassidy was pinned against a tree. David put his hand on her cheek.
“Don’t worry. You’ll be fine.” He said and smiled at her. Kassidy kicked at him. This was not David.
“Who are you?!” She screamed.
“My brother always somehow forgets to mention me. I’m James. ” He smiled again revealing a set of fangs. Kassidy screamed and twisted trying to get away.
“Shhh.” He cooed smoothing over her blonde hair with his hand. “I’ll take care of you.” Kassidy looked in his eyes and fell under trance. She nodded. James leaned in brushing his fangs over her neck.
“I’ve had my eyes on you for a while Kassidy Cole.” He smirked and sunk his fangs into the pulse point on her neck.
Kassidy couldn’t move. Her brain was screaming at her to fight, but she felt paralyzed. She couldn’t even scream as she felt him draining her. She had nothing left to do but accept her death as everything went black.

David and Graham were first on the scene of the accident. David couldn’t believe that his partner was gone, he and his daughter were like family to David and his wife and Sean's daughter was good friends with his daughter Emma. Graham came back to David and sighed heavily.
“There is no trace of Kassidy. I can’t find her anywhere. We’ll have to search the woods in the morning.” Graham said solemnly. “What are we thinking? Vampire?”
“Definitely..” David sighed sadly. “But with the bite patterns, it looks like a rabid animal, it had to be a new one..”
“Are you going to be okay?” Graham asked.
“Yeah.. in time. Maybe you should call that friend of yours.. The hunter, we can get his opinion, if we’ve got a rouge vampire on our hands this could get ugly.
“He’s retired, He retired when the laws changed I’ve tried to get him to join us we could use someone like him on the force. But he’s hesitant..His brother was killed by a vampire, now that its against the law to kill them without valid reason he’s kind of given up.” Graham sighed.
“If its a vampire that he wants to kill, then so be it, if he finds whoever did this, I’ll look the other way.” David said and turned away from Graham walking to the car to try and look for clues to help him find Kassidy.

Kassidy opened her eyes only to realize that something was very wrong, she felt the last bit of life leave her body so how was she still alive? She sat up and looked around she was in a nice room, The walls, were painted a deep purple color and the furniture was sleek, and modern. She ran her hands over the purple satin bed sheets before swinging her legs over the side of the bed and standing. She was a little wobbly on her legs. She probably looked like a baby deer.
She stopped suddenly hearing voices in the hallway.
“What have you done James?! We aren’t supposed to be turning anyone!” A woman hissed.
“You’ll love her Jack, she makes me think of you. Besides you said you wanted a family.”
“James you did not turn a child! Are you trying to get us all killed?”
“A child? No!” James sighed exasperated. “You’ll see.”

Kassidy grabbed the closest thing to her to use as a weapon as the door opened. She screamed and went to swing the lamp but it was knocked out of her hands and onto the floor. She looked at the man and woman in the room backing away.
“What did you do to me?” She asked.
“I gave you a gift.” James smiled. “I’ve seen you, in my club for weeks. I knew you were interested.”
“I didn’t want this!” Kassidy screamed.
“Oh, James she’s scared.” Jack frowned and walked over reaching out to Kassidy. Kassidy made an animal like hiss, and slapped her hand away.
“Don’t fucking touch me!”
“Hey!” James shouted and pushed her backwards into the wall growling at her. Kassidy whimpered and shut her eyes tightly.
“Don’t hurt me.” She pleaded. She felt his hand on her cheek and she opened her eyes.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to do that.” James said.
“I didn’t want this.” Kassidy cried. “I don’t know why you thought I did.. Please. Just let me go. Kill me… Please.” She begged. “I want to see my dad again.”
“Well, that’s just not going to happen.” James frowned, but it was almost like he was mocking her. “You’ll learn to appreciate what I’ve given you, and in days time, your fathers death will mean nothing to you. We are your family now..” He smiled and kissed her on the top of the head.
