Chapter 7
A/N: Sorry this chapter is kind of bland and its short. Not sure how I feel about it.
** this is all I have of this book so far hopefully, now that I'm replublishing it I'll get a spark back for it.**
"You..found her?" David asked. He was stunned, he knew deep down that Kassidy was alive it was just a matter of finding her.
"Well, she actually found me.." Killian sighed.
"What do you mean?" David asked. "Where is she now?"
"She came to my apartment last night..as far as where she is now, I don't know." Killian said.
"You let her go?? Why didn't you call me the second that she showed up?!" David demanded.
"David, there's something else you need to know about Kassidy." Killian said putting his hands up defensively.
"What?" David asked.
"She's been turned." Killian said solemnly. The anger in David's eyes only grew.
"What did you do?" He spat.
"Excuse me?" Killian asked.
"We all know you hate Vampires! So help me if you harmed one hair on her head.."
"I questioned her, I had to restrain her I didn't know what I was going to get, whether you like it or not, Kassidy isn't the same girl you knew." Killian defended.
David grabbed the lapels of Killian's leather jacket and slammed his back into the wall.
"You never knew her! You have no idea what kind of girl she is!" David shouted at him. "You should have called me!"
Killian pushed David off of him.
"I know I shouldn't have been as mean as I was with her, but the point is David, I've seen this so many times a family thinking they're getting their loved ones back but there loved one is a monster and things go bad quickly."
"The only monster here, Killian, is you." David scoffed. "You're dismissed."
"Dismissed?"
"Fired! Whatever you want to call it just get out of my station!"
"The vampire who murdered your friend, and turned Kassidy is still out there David, and Kassidy is not willing to give up who it is, you're going to need me."
"To what? Torture the information out of her?" David accused. "No. I don't need you. It was a mistake for you to come here."
----------------------------------------
"Well that was short lived.." Graham sighed as Killian emptied his locker at the station. "Maybe I can talk to David, he just needs to cool off, everyone's a little shell shocked right now."
"Don't bother. He's right. This was a mistake." Killian mumbled.
"You didn't really hurt her did you?" Graham asked.
"I restrained her with silver and I asked her questions. If anything I hurt her feelings." Killian said and slammed his locker shut.
"David is going to see his brother tonight to see if he knows anything. James is in charge of all the vamps in the state of Maine."
"Oh so now he's willing to involve his brother." Killian scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"What are you going to be doing?" Graham asked.
"Well, I don't work for the Storybrooke police anymore, but there is still something going on here that I am going to get to the bottom of, my own way."
"Killian don't be reckless it's never gotten you anywhere good. Its not what Liam would have wanted."
"Don't pretend you know what Liam would have wanted." Killian spat and walked out of the station.

"How long will it take for this to heal?" Kassidy asked Jack as she ran her fingers over the burn marks on her wrist.
"Silver burns usually take a little longer, do they still hurt?" Jack asked.
"Not much." Kassidy shrugged. "I don't understand, my dad hated vampires but really..why? I mean sure James bends the rules a bit but..generally speaking we aren't that different besides the sleeping all day and the weird diet." Kassidy sighed. "I wonder if he would hate me now if he was still alive."
"Theres no telling, Kassi. Maybe thats why James killed him." Jack suggested.
The words stung Kassidy, still and she was thrown back into reality of how fucked up this situation she was in really was. She was living with two psychopaths who plotted to murder her father, and then kidnap her and make her like them so they could have a family again.
Why did she come back here? What kept pulling her back to these people?
There was a knock on the door downstairs, Kassidy was used to visitors from the vampire community, James and Jack often had guests. But when she heard David's voice her eyes widened.
Of course Killian reported back to David.
"Don't worry, James will handle it." Jack said.
"He won't hurt David will he?" Kassidy asked.
"I don't think so." Jack shook her head. "I'm going to go downstairs, you stay up here and we'll let you know when its okay to come down." She said as she left the room. Meanwhile Kassidy tuned herself into the conversation downstairs.
"David, what brings you here?" Jack asked as she walked down the stairs.
"I wanted to apologize about one of my officers who went to Neverland to ask questions. He was new." David sighed.
"Its all forgiven. We have nothing to hide." James shrugged. "But you could have called."
"I Know, however...the girl I've been looking for, Kassidy she came to see that officer at his home last night and he swears she had been turned and I wanted to see if you knew anything about that and if you did, if you knew where she might be."
James sighed heavily.
"I do, I know you've been looking for her for a while, but I only kept her location from you because its what she wanted, I protect my people like you do yours." James said.
If Kassidy was alive, she would have sworn she was going to have a heart attack when James said what he did.
She was caught somewhere between shock, that James had told David he knew she was alive, and rage because he told David that she didn't want to be found.
"She..shes really alive?" David asked.
"So to speak." James said. "She was turned a year ago, by whoever murdered her father but she was left to her own. She found me, and asked if she could stay and if I could keep her a secret. She was afraid that everyone she knew would turn on her because of what she had become."
"Thats insane. I would have never turned my back on her. Is she here? Now? I need to see her!" David insisted.
"I will see if she wants to see you." James said.
Kassidy heard him walking up the stairs, she felt rage boiling in her. HE killed her father, HE turned her, and HE brought her here against her will. He made it sound like she wanted to be here.
As soon as James opened the door Kassidy lunged herself at him.
James caught her and pinned her to the wall putting his hand against her mouth.
"You want your freedom? You go with the story I gave, or I dig up Dylan's body and leave a trail that leads straight to you." James threatened.
Kassidy glared at him but nodded. It was like a punch in the gut, but this would give her the freedom to come and go as she pleased, and she could finally see her friends, and family again she just had to keep up with the same lie she'd kept for a whole year. James let her go.
"Behave yourself, princess." He smiled and took her arm leading her out of the room.
Kassidy knew, she'd be emotional when she saw David again for the first time in a year, but she wasn't prepared for just how emotional she'd be the second she saw his warm, welcoming expression. Her gray eyes welled up with tears as she stood at the bottom of the stairs, keeping a safe distance.
"Kassi?" David asked, his voice cracked a little.
Kassidy just nodded, it was the only thing she could think to do at this point.
David opened his arms
"Come here sweetheart." He said softly. Kassidy sniffled and ran to his open arms, sobbing as he wrapped his arms around her hugging her tightly to him. It was incredible how he and James looked so alike, but were completely different people and now matter how many times she pretended that James was David to make showing any sort of affection to him easier, nothing compared to the real thing.
"I'm so sorry." She cried.
"Don't apologize Kassidy you didn't ask for this." David said and cradled the back of her head in his hand as he kissed the top of her head. Kassidy pressed the side of her head to David's chest looking at James. There was a certain look of jealousy in his eyes.
No matter how hard he tried, to make Kassidy accept him, he'd never have the family like love that Kassidy and David had and if turning her didn't change that, nothing would and Kassidy didn't know why that made her feel bad, but it did.
