A/N: I hope you are all enjoying this book, I love writing it! <3 Let me know in the comments!
"When you say dreams.." Killian started as he poured Emma some tea.
"I mean, like..they feel one hundred percent real, like she's trying to reach out to me.." Emma sighed. "Every night since the night she disappeared."
"And you haven't spoken to your father about this?" Killian asked.
"No. He'd think I was nuts." Emma scoffed and sipped at her tea she looked over at Killian's desk noticing the cellphone with the burgundy case with studs sitting on top of a file folder.
She stood up and walked over to the phone and picked it up.
"That is police evidence!" Killian snapped.
"Its hers!" Emma snapped back and typed in the password unlocking the phone.
"How did you figure it out?!" Killian demanded.
"Honestly, the password was Tacos. We're best friends. I know her password, she knows mine." Emma rolled her eyes as if Killian should have known.
"Tacos.. It was fucking Tacos?!" He blurted out, He'd tried everything, a teenage girl would possibly put as her password except for Tacos
"She's either the smartest 18 year old or the weirdest." Killian sighed and took the phone from Emma putting it on the counter.
"I didn't let you in so you could snoop into my investigation." He said.
"If you plan on finding Kassidy, you are going to need my help." Emma shrugged.
"To be honest, Emma. I'm not planning on finding Kassidy, unless its her remains." Killian spat harshly. Emma's green eyes watered and he sighed. He really needed to learn to be more tactful when speaking to the victims friends and family. This was just not his thing.
"I just don't think shes alive, Emma." Killian said although after his dream he was questioning it, if only a little.
"I know she is!" Emma spat. These dreams have to mean something. I did my research. Hunters get dreams like this." Emma said.
"So do grieving friends and family who are still trying to hold onto hope that their loved one is still out there, or that they can save them." Killian mumbled.
"You don't think I'm a hunter?" Emma asked.
"I think you are sad. And I think you miss your friend." Killian suggested. "Even if you were a hunter, the dreams aren't always accurate." He said. Although 90 percent of the time, his were. He just wanted this annoying blonde out of his apartment so he could start getting ready for work.
"Can I eat least..just look at her pictures?" Emma asked.
Killian sighed and picked up the phone and handed it to her. "Please don't delete anything. I need it all." He said.
Emma scrolled through the pictures on Kassidys phone, smiling. Killian looked over her shoulder.
"Where is this?" Killian asked, pointing at the picture, of Kassidy, Emma, and a couple of other girls all dressed up obviously trying to look older than they were because they appeared to be in a bar.
Emma frowned.
"Neverland. Its the vampire bar, just outside of town." She said "This was the last time I saw her Sean came and picked her up, He was livid..and I had Graham take me home and then..I got the call.."
"Can I see that?" Killian asked. Emma handed him back the phone. Killian looked at the picture closely, zooming in to see if he could figure anything out he pulled away from the phone, something he saw in the background was not making sense.
"Emma.. why is your father there if Graham took you home? " he asked. Emma shook her head.
"My dad was working that night." She replied and looked at the picture. "That's my uncle James. He owns Neverland."
"David never mentioned he had a brother.." Killian mumbled.
"Well, I'm sure he didn't mention his vampire brother to a former hunter." Emma rolled her eyes.
"And..no one thought that Kassidy being in Your uncle's bar, the night her father was murdered by a vampire, and she vanished were somehow in connection?" Killian asked.
"James and his wife were both brought in for questioning. They even offered for their house to be searched. Why would James murder Mr. Cole and take Kassidy?" Emma asked, as if offended that he even thought her uncle would do that.
"I learned to stop questioning why vampires do what they do." Killian shrugged. "Now, I have to get ready for work, so if you'd be so kind as to leave.."
"Leave? Thats it? I tell you I'm having dreams about my best friend who I think is trying to reach out to me for help, and you think I'm just sad?"
"Pretty much, even if you were a hunter, I can't teach you anything. Hunting is illegal, thinking about hunting is illegal, breathing the word hunt is illegal." Killian scoffed.
"I'm not sad, I'm pissed off that Kassidy is missing, she is out there somewhere and no one is doing a damn thing to bring her home! Everyone has given up!" Emma shouted.
"Because everyone else has already accepted the truth! Your friend is not coming home. She is dead Emma. You think, if she was taken by a vampire they just kept her? No. You want to know what likely happened to Kassidy? She was more than likely tortured, and raped before she was fed on and killed. I've seen a lot of missing girls, Emma and their stories all end the same, because as long as we let these fanged fuckers do whatever they want it will never change!" Killian spat as he caught her wrist right before she could slap him across the face, he knew it was coming.
"Not today, thanks for playing." He said and twisted her arm behind her back leading her to the door, which he then opened and shoved her out.
"I will prove to you, that she isn't dead." Emma vowed. "And when I bring her home. You are going to look like an asshole!"
"You're going to end up vampire bait just like she was if you go digging in shit you don't understand."
"Fuck you!" Emma shouted as he slammed his door shut and went back to his table when he noticed something missing.
She took the fucking phone!
Killian ran to his door, and opened it, running out into the hallway trying to catch her but she was already gone. How the hell was she so fast?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Kassidy had no idea where she was, or how she had even gotten here as she looked around the gloomy one bedroom apartment. She walked over to a messy desk and uncovered a file folder, she opened the folder and the first thing she saw were crime scene photos of her father with his throat torn open.
Had she been human, she would have gone straight to hysterics, vomiting and sobbing. But she had spent the last year, seeing this scene in her head every time she closed her eyes to point where she didn't even flinch anymore. It made her sad that this was the last memory she had of her father and she did miss him, but it otherwise didn't affect her. She moved the folder aside and found a missing person poster with her face right in the middle.
"Who picked that photo..ugh.." She mumbled and then she came to pictures of dirt, with marks in it showing someone was dragged off the road. She was hit with a set of painful flashes of James dragging her off into the woods. Those somehow still made her flinch.
She shook her head trying to shake away the memory and shut the file folder.
Kassidy jumped when she heard a shower starting. She wasn't alone. She quietly crept down the hallway, towards the bathroom door that was open just a crack. She pushed it open slightly.
If she were human her face would have been crimson in color as she set her eyes on Graham's new patrol partner, Killian Jones. She bit her lip, and her eyebrows just about flew off her head as her lips curved into a smirk. She felt at that moment she could have hugged whoever invented the clear shower curtain because looking at this man was like looking at a piece of artwork in a museum. He was beautiful and she just wanted to touch him.
She slowly walked towards the shower and stepped in behind him, not even caring that her clothes were getting soaked by the water. She very gingerly brushed her fingers over his back. The feeling of her skin touching his sent little electric pulses through her body. She felt him shudder under her touch and she backed away pressing her back to the shower wall as he turned around, his blue eyes were confused, as they looked right through her, and his jaw twitched before he turned back around.
Kassidy reached forward again touching his shoulders this time, lightly massaging his tense muscles, addicted to the way his skin felt against the palm of her hands, and the soft moans that were coming from his lips. She moved her hands to his chest, curling her fingers in the dark wirey chest hair as she pressed a kiss to his left shoulder. Eternity didn't seem bad, as long as she could stay here, with him. She felt the ground beneath her tremble and the most horrible feeling like she was being pulled away.
"Don't leave me, Killian." She whispered in his ear before being violently ripped away from him by an unseen force
----------------------------------------------------
Killian angrily walked back into his apartment and shut the door pissed off that he let Emma get away with his most important piece of evidence that could lead him to the vampire. Though he had a pretty good idea of where to start looking now. He looked at the clock and sighed, he'd have enough time for a quick shower and something to eat and then he'd have to leave. He walked down the hall to his bathroom and started the shower before peeling off his clothing and leaving it in a heap on the bathroom floor before stepping in and grumbling at how the water couldn't decide if it wanted to be devil's piss hot, or Arctic winds cold.
Killian was in the process of washing his hair when he felt the strangest sensation, it felt as if someone had very lightly, ran their fingers down his back. He even felt his own body react to it, he quickly turned around just to make sure that some ninja ghost hadn't just snuck in his shower. He saw no one, but could swear he felt someone standing there watching him.
"You need more sleep Jones.." He mumbled to himself and turned back around.
It wasn't long before he felt, what felt like palms gently massaging his shoulder muscles and he let out a soft moan, He knew in the back of his mind, that something about this was wrong but it was as if he was under some spell, He felt fingernails, raking through his chest hair and tilted his head back closing his eyes It had been a long time since he'd felt anything like this and Gods be damned if it didn't feel good, He felt soft, wet lips on his left shoulder, and he cursed under his breath when he felt them leave and then, in a devastating, panic stricken voice inside his head, he heard her.
Don't leave me Killian.
Killian's eyes shot open and he shut off the shower whipping around, still there was no one there, but still he could feel the aftermath of small, dainty fingers brushing over his skin and that voice..God that voice begging him not to leave hurt him in ways he didn't understand.
Its just not possible. She's dead. He thought as he got out of the shower.
Or is She? A small, hopeful voice in the back of his mind wondered but he shook his head crushing that voice with doubt. He'd seen this all before, Kassidy Cole was dead.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Don't leave me.." Kassidy murmured as she woke up suddenly. She sat up, gasping and looking around, she was still stuck in this tiny room with Dylan's body.
"No!" She cried out. She would have given anything just to be back in that gloomy apartment, with him. She raked her hands through her hair and pulled them away gasping. Her hair was dripping wet. She was actually there. But How?
"Killian?" She said. Hoping he would somehow hear it. "Killian please. Please.. Help me." She started sobbing and rocking herself back and forth, there was no answer. He wasn't coming to help her, she was alone.
