**Sorry these chapters are much shorter than what some of you are used to by now xD**
Killian had continued working, even after he had gone home early that morning. He couldn't seem to get the dead girl out of his damn head, and he knew if he was going to figure out who exactly the vampire was that killed her father, and undoubtedly her he was going to have to figure out exactly who she was.
So he sat at his desk at home with a large file folder full of pictures of this Kassidy Cole. There were also items of hers, including a cellphone that was found on the side of the road, the cellphone was currently sitting on his charger. David couldn't fathom looking at it but Killian figured maybe there would be some clues on it.
A couple hours later, the phone was charged. Killian picked up the phone, the screen was a little cracked but he'd still be able to see it. He turned the phone on and waited for it to come on and came to his next problem. Of course it was password protected, what teenage girl didn't lock their phone.
Killian ran his hands over his face and looked at the clock. It was 10 in the morning and he suddenly realized how tired he was. He shut the file folder on his desk and put the phone on top of it before standing from his chair and stretching. He peeled his shirt off and tossed it in the laundry hamper before walking over to his bed and pulling the blankets back and climbing in.
It wasn't long after his head hit the pillow that he fell asleep.
---------------------------------------------------
Killian wasn't sure where he was, but it was dark. He looked around and instantly realized he was in a house, but whose house was he in? The furniture was nice, modern and sleek. The floors were all dark mahogany wood with designer rugs laid out. He looked around trying to get an idea of whose house he was in, but there were no family pictures or anything so he decided to go up the stairs.
Once up the stairs, and walking down the hall he came to a room with the door wide open. He stepped inside. The walls were a deep purple color, and the furniture was black. He raised his eyebrow as he noticed the bed was in the middle of the room and turned awkwardly as if someone had pushed it, or kicked it. But even more curious, was the large square hole in the floor. He cautiously walked over to it and looked down, He could see there were stairs, but he couldn't see how far down they went. He raised his foot to take a step when a blood curdling scream stopped him in his tracks.
Killian turned on his heels and ran towards the screaming.
"Help me!" A girl screamed and as Killian got closer he heard what sounded like someone trying to beat a door down. He came to the door, that was shaking from the hits it was taking.
"Hello?" Killian said.
The screaming stopped abruptly and Killian put his ear to the door, hearing soft whimpers coming from inside the room. He looked down at the padlock on the door.
"If you're standing by the door, Step as far away from it as you can." He instructed through the door hoping she was listening as he pulled his gun from the holster and stood back at little.
"You're going to hear a loud bang. Don't panic." Killian said and aimed the gun at the lock on the door and pulled the trigger.
And of course as soon as the gun went off the screaming started all over again.
"Bloody hell." He sighed and quickly kicked the door open.
He couldn't believe what he saw. The room was tiny. It even made him nervous and he wasn't claustrophobic. There were no windows. The only way out was through the door he had just kicked open. The second thing he noticed was there was blood, and scratch marks on the walls and the back of the door. There was a male body on the floor. Definitely deceased, there were bite marks in his neck and Killian cursed under his breath.
"Fucking Vampires.."
Still screaming, was a girl in the corner of the room. Her bloody hands were over her face, her fingernails, and cuticles were torn to shreds and Killian realized this poor girl had tried to claw her way out of the room. He walked over slowly and crouched down to her.
"Hey.." He said. Her screaming stopped again and her fingers spread apart and he saw two striking grey eyes peeking out at him. He took her wrists and gently moved her hands away from her face and jumped back, not in horror, but surprise. The girl in the room was the missing girl. The dead girl. Kassidy Cole.
"How long have you been here?" He asked. Kassidy didn't answer him. She just stared at him with her fear stricken eyes, shaking.
"Who did this to you?" Killian asked but she still wouldn't answer him. She curled herself up into fetal position laying on the floor whimpering.
"Hey.. Kassidy. I'm not going to hurt you sweetheart I'm going to help you. My name is Killian Jones." Killian said. "Come on." He reached out to grab her and heard another sound like someone was pounding on another door.
"Is someone else here?" Killian asked but Kassidy just continued to lay there whimpering like he wasn't there at all. The pounding got louder and louder, so much that it was hurting his ears.
"Stay here. I'll be right back." He said and crawled towards the door
"Don't leave me." Kassidy cried softly. "Please don't leave me."
Killian went to turn around to tell her he wouldn't but he was pulled from the room by an invisible force.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kassidy screamed, she cried, she punched and she kicked anything trying to get out of this room. She hated small spaces and as a vampire with heightened senses, her panic was much much worse. She clawed at the walls until her fingers bled and all she could to was scream hoping someone somewhere was hearing her.
Hello?
Kassidy stopped screaming as she heard a voice inside her head. She sat on the floor in the corner of the room, whimpering with her hands over her face.
Hey..The voice said again. Kassidy was sure she had lost her mind at this point.
How long have you been here?
Kassidy wanted to answer but she was confused and she was trying to figure out where she had heard his voice before.
Who did this to you?
She didn't know who the voice belonged to. But It was calming her down, even though it was confusing. She saw no point in talking to the voice, what good would it have done? She curled into fetal position and laid on the floor.
Kassidy, I'm not going to hurt you sweetheart I'm going to help you. My name is Killian Jones.
Killian? Kassidy shook her head. It couldn't be. It wasn't possible. Killian was the man that Graham was with in the park. She didn't know him, and he didn't know her.
Is someone else here? Stay here I'll be right back.
"Don't leave me." Kassidy whimpered, finally speaking. "Please. Don't leave me." She may have been crazy but the voice was calming to her and she didn't want to be alone again.
"Please don't leave me.." She repeated rocking herself back and forth unable to keep her eyes open anymore
"Don't leave...me." She mumbled before drifting to sleep.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Killian was jolted from his sleep, by the pounding on his apartment door. He took a moment to collect himself as a hunter he often had some pretty intense dreams but this one really bothered him. He'd had dreams before that were like premonitions but this one felt real, as if he was actually in the room with Kassidy. What did this mean?
The pounding on the door started up again. Killian grumbled and threw the blankets off of him and got out of bed pulling a shirt on.
"I'm coming!" He shouted. "Bloody hell.." he added under his breath as he staggered, half asleep to the door. When he opened the door he had to blink a couple of times, because the first thing he saw was blonde hair and then the girl turned around. It wasn't Kassidy. It was Emma, David's daughter.
"Erm...Hello?" He said, clearly confused by her presence.
. "Killian Jones right?" Emma asked.
"Aye.." Killian said and leaned against the door blinking the rest of the sleep out of his eyes.
"I'm Emma.."
"Nolan, yes. I know. What is it you want?" Killian asked. Emma was a little taken aback by his question, more so how abrasive he was.
"I want you to teach me." Emma replied. "How to do what you do."
"You want me to teach you how to walk around a park and look for vampires who aren't following the rules? And..your father can't do that...because?" Killian sighed and crossed his arms.
"I know you are a hunter." Emma rolled her eyes. "I want you to teach me how to do that."
Killian stared at her incredulously for a few minutes before shaking his head.
"Go away." He said and went to shut the door but Emma put her foot in it. Killian sighed out of annoyance and opened the door.
"I thought you English people were polite!" Emma spat.
"First off, I'm Irish. Second, you are the rude one, pounding on my door and demanding I teach you to hunt." Killian scoffed. "If you haven't noticed, hunting vampires is now against the law. Besides I couldn't teach you if it were legal. You're either born with the ability or you're not. Now, please go away." Killian said and went to shut the door again.
"I've been having dreams.." Emma said before he could shut it and this time. He was the one who stopped the door from closing. He cursed under his breath.
"About Kassidy.." Emma added. Killian sighed heavily and opened the door and stepped aside gesturing for her to come in.
