Chapter 2

A/N: for those of you who are Buffy fans, Ive kind of given Jack and James a bit of Spike and Dru vibes. Theyre a bit looney. But they also have a sad backstory.
This chapter is much shorter than the first one. I apologize. Next chapter coming soon
Also I realize the photo In the header is David but I give up trying to find James gifs. And they are twins so who cares XD I'm really enjoying working on this story! Let me know what you think in the comments!! :)

**I forgot how much of a colossal asshat James is in this book.**

Kassidy hissed at the burning pain in her scalp as she was dragged back into the house by her hair. She thought James was about to pull her hair out of her head, but he released her hair shoving her forward as he slammed the door. Kassidy ran her hands over her head easing the sting and smoothing her hair back out.
"Were you seen?!" James demanded.
"Piss off!" Kassidy growled and then yelped as James grabbed hold of her hair again and pulled her to him.
"Were. you. Seen?!" He snarled at her.
"No!" Kassidy spat and cried out as James began pulling her up the stairs by her hair. She had a higher pain tolerance than she used to, but James was older and much much stronger than she was so this hurt like hell.
"I told you, you were not to leave! We give you everything you could need. You had no business being out there!" James growled.
"I'm tired of staying here!" Kassidy whined as she was shoved into her room. "And I'm going to keep leaving until you either kill me and get this misery over with, or you just give up and leave me alone!" She clenched her fists at her sides. James put his hand on her throat and pinned her to the wall.
"I will, NEVER leave you alone. You're miserable?" He scoffed. "I gave you new life! A better life!"
Kassidy growled and used as much strength as she could muster and pushed him off of her.
"The life I had was FINE. I never wanted this I never wanted to be turned!"
"You were bored with your life, I could hear your thoughts when you walked in the door of my bar that night." James rolled his eyes.
"Yes, I was bored. I was 18, my dad was a very over protective police officer but that didn't give you the right to kill him, and then turn me! You gave me a better life?! What kind of life is it if I just sit in my room plotting ways to be free of you and that crazy bitch?!"
And as if on cue, Jack walked into the room frowning.
"Is that really what you think of me?" She asked.
Kassidy threw her hands up looking back and forth between the two of them.
"DUH!" She yelled.

James sighed and put his arm around Jack. "Look, you've upset your mother." He said glaring at Kassidy.
"Mother? She is NOT my mother!" Kassidy snorted. "I don't know why you two seem to think I want anything to do with this crazy little family you've created."
"I told you, she wasn't right!" Jack hissed at James.
"Jack, she is. You'll see. She's just moody, she hasn't ate today." James sighed.
"You two are fucking delusional." Kassidy groaned, although she was getting hungry, and James wasn't completely wrong, she did get really moody when she was hungry.

"Help!!" a man screamed from somewhere in the house.
Kassidy stopped suddenly looking around.
"Who..was that?" She asked.
Jack frowned. "That was your birthday present."
"Jack went out to get you something special before you ran off." James spat.
"But.. I didn't w-"
"Don't be ungrateful. You're lucky you are still alive." James glared and grabbed her wrist.
"You could totally kill me you know, Best birthday ever." Kassidy scoffed.
"But you haven't seen what I brought you!" Jack said as James pulled Kassidy down the hall.
"I've decided to forgive you for running away." James said completely ignoring her request to just end her miserable existence.
"After all, maybe if I had at least just let you outside in the garden once or twice maybe you wouldn't have. You're overwhelmed, you're stir crazy and you're a vampire now, which means you've been given instincts to hunt with and I haven't allowed you to use them. I haven't been the best father."

Kassidy cringed when he called himself her father.
"I thought Vampires weren't allowed to hunt anymore." She said.
"We aren't, but as you've seen I don't set the best example." He smirked at Kassidy.
Bastard..Kassidy thought.
"Besides, its a special night. On this night 1 year ago, James brought me a gift. You." Jack smiled.
Kassidy sighed, she hated how James and Jack could make her feel bad, even when she hated them which was most of the time.

Their story was a sad one, before they were turned Jack and James actually had a daughter, but she had tragically drowned at the age of 6, there was an accident and their car went over the bridge into the ocean. Jack and James were brought to the hospital and turned by a vampire posing as a doctor. Their daughter had passed on the way to the hospital, so when they woke up they were told they'd not only lost their child, but they would have to spend eternity coping with their loss.
"You really didn't have to get me anything.." Kassidy said.
"But I wanted to, because you made me happy. I wanted to return the favor." Jack said and the two of them led Kassidy to a room in the house that made her flinch. She hated this room, For one, it was a tiny room with no windows, and one door. And two, James locked her in here often when she upset him.
"Please. No." Kassidy begged and twisted in James' grip.
"Relax, we had to keep him in here." Jack said and opened the door.

Kassidy looked at the young man cowering in the corner of the room. She recognized him instantly.
"..D..Dylan?" She said and looked at Jack confused.
"I remember when you told me about him. How he hurt you." Jack smiled.
Dylan looked up at Kassidy.
"Kass? Holy shit! Kass! Everyone thinks you're fucking dead!" He said and stepped forward with his arms out but James pushed him backwards.
"Touch her, and I'll break your bones one by one." He snarled catching Kassidy off guard with the protectiveness in his tone.
"Are..are you one of them?" Dylan asked. "You're one of them! You're a freak with fangs aren't you?!" He spat harshly at Kassidy. Kassidy looked down, hurt. She realized now that most of the people she knew when she was human probably would think the same.
"Don't let him hurt you princess." James said. "They'll never understand."

"I don't even understand! Why is he here?!" Kassidy asked.
"He's for you." Jack said.
"For what?" Kassidy asked.
"Do we really have to spell it out for you? He's food." James sighed.
Kassidy shook her head. She'd only ever had blood that was given to her in a glass. Never fresh from a person. Even James and Jack didn't feed directly from people. Save from when James tore her fathers throat out.
If too many people went missing there would be a problem. Their blood was given to them from the hospital. From donors.
"I.. we can't." Kassidy said.
"Well we can't let him live, he's seen you." Jack said.
"So compel him!" Kassidy spat.
"This is your chance to get him back for what he's done!" Jack urged her.
"He hurt me years ago Jack. I forgave him. I moved on, I don't want to hurt him."
"Well, I'm afraid you are going to have to." James shrugged. "Every vampire should feed from a person at least once."
"I don't want to. Compel him to forget what he's seen and let him go." Kassidy said.

"No." James shrugged again. "If you won't kill him. I will, and you can watch, and I promise you, it won't be pretty, or quick. I know you are hungry.. And just think of everything he did, how he hurt you." James whispered in Kassidy's ear and Kassidy was hit by flashbacks, of Dylan and everything he'd ever done to her, to hurt her and she tried to push back the boiling rage.
"This is who you are, sweetheart. Feel the rage, and let it out." James pushed.
"Who I am, is a far cry from what you turned me into!" Kassidy snarled and watched as Jack walked up beside Dylan and cut the side of his neck and a small bead of blood dripped down.
"He smells delicious Kassi, don't you want some?" She asked.
Kassidy tried to fight it as her fangs extended. Tears rolled out of her eyes.
"I can't." She pleaded with James.
"You can." James said and lightly pushed her towards Dylan and she fell in front of him. Dylans eyes were wide with fear, and his chest was heaving.
"Kassi I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything I did. I'm sorry for calling you a freak. Please. Don't do this." Dylan begged her. James knelt down behind Dylan and held him still.
"Come on, you can do it. Just this once." James smiled at her.
"I don't know how." Kassidy shook her head.
"Bite here." James said and pointed to a spot on Dylans neck. "Drink until you feel his heart stop."
"Kassi please." Dylan begged again with tears in his eyes.
"Don't listen to him Kass. He'd hurt you again if he ever got the chance. Don't give him that chance." Jack said.
Kassidy turned her gray eyes to Dylan and growled leaning in.
"Thats it. Just let it go." Jack cooed.

Kassidy ran her fangs over his neck his pulse quickened and she couldn't hold herself back anymore she plunged her fangs into the tender skin on his neck and he screamed in agony. The fresh warm blood danced its way into her mouth and down her throat and for the first time in a year she felt alive.
"Keep going." James said softly running his hand through her curls.
Kassidy drank more, and more as she felt his body going limp, and his heartbeat slow until it stopped and then she still wanted to keep going.
"Its done." James said and pulled her away from Dylan. Holding her, as she watched Dylan's lifeless body flop to the ground.
"Dyl.." She cried. Jack went to pick up Dylan's body but James stopped her.
"Leave it." He said standing up "Let it remind her."
"What?" Jack asked confused.
"Wait for me outside." James instructed. Jack left the room.
Kassidy stood up but James pushed her back down.
"You aren't going anywhere."
"But... I did what you said. Jack sa-"
"You ran away Kassidy. I can't let that go unpunished." James said and started backing out of the room.
"No! Please!" Kassidy begged him. She even threw her arms around him hugging him, anything to not get locked in this room. "Please I won't do it again." Kassidy sobbed. James pushed her away.

"I know you won't because the next time you do, I won't kill that cop you were staring at in the park. You will." James snarled and backed out of the room shutting the door and locking it.
Kassidy screamed and pounded on the door begging them to let her out. She hated small spaces and she couldn't fathom being stuck in this room, with Dylan's body knowing that she was the one that killed him. She Killed someone. Just the thought of it made her sick.
"James.. Come on. Killing the kid was enough, she won't do it again." Jack pleaded with him on Kassidy's behalf.
"She has to learn, Jack." James sighed and walked away from the door.
