Daijah
"Ayo Corey. There go Daijah." I heard O'shea said, looking at his face expression that changed as they watched walk up the drive way with lil mama on my hip.
I don't even know why everyone looking at me all sideways. After daddy passing, I stayed to myself worrying about Dream. I have better things to do than to invest my time in something that doesn't benefit Dream.
Shit, I don't know why Corey even acting like he aint too thrilled to see me. He stands up here acting like he wasn't on my phone asking to come see Dream knowing she was sleep.
You already know what his ass wanted.
I must admit, I started not to come to this little surprise shit they were having for my sister, but there was just some shit I needed to clear the air bout with her. We really needed to have a one-on-one talk.
Its that time. Anyway, I looked good today wearing a crème colored Moschino strapless dress with Givenchy Heels.
My long hair was brush up into a sleek ponytail and Mac lip glass graced my lips.
My baby girl Dream, looking like the little brown skin beauty she is looked so adorable wearing her Burberry dress with her little sandals on her feet.
Her hair was brushed up into a ponytail as well, with her diamond earrings that her dad bought her gleamed in her ear. My baby was a diva.
"Yeah here I go." I said, acknowledging that I heard O'shea. "Wassup ya'll?" I greeted before doing a double take at this woman I've never seen, standing there with O'shea.
"Aint shit Daijah." O'shea said with a head nod. "Umm...Karin this Daijah, Corey baby momma."
"Hi-Um...I thought you said she..." Karin said as she looked at O'shea confused.
He nodded his head as his eyes diverted back and forth between Corey, Solana and I.
she must of realized that Corey has not one but two baby momma's and we both standing here right now with our little creations, thanks to our stupidity and his infidelity.
"Yea. CJ is my daughter's brother." I spoke, smiling. "Nice to meet you Karin. You're O'shea's girlfriend huh?"
She smiled, "Yes. And nice to meet you too."
"Cute girl O'shea." I complimented sincerely. I diverted my attention to Corey but can see Solana staring a hole in my face.
This shit is starting to get annoying. I mean, yeah it does look bad that I had Corey's baby and that was her nigga at the time, but it Is what it is at this point. I aint stressing it.
We probably will never go back to being A1 day ones but, that's the sacrifice you gotta make sometimes. Long as she doesn't mistreat Dream like I don't mistreat CJ, we all good.
I stared back at Solana, looking her up and down as she glanced over my outfit. I knew I looked good, I couldn't say the same about her Flannel shirt, holy jeans "I scream grown woman stuck in a teenage mindset" outfit.
Her hair was beautiful but as usual she wore it all over her head like a mop.
Sis need to invest in a beautician.
I could see Jason walking away. I didn't expect him to say shit to me. Which I'm fine with.
Long as he stays away from me then we should be good.
I got a pair of tennis shoes in the trunk of my car if anyone wanna get physical out this bitch.
"I aint know you was coming." Corey said, breaking the silence. He smiled as he grabbed for Dream as she was reaching out for her daddy, squirming around.
"You would of known if you would have answered your phone." I retorted, looking back at Solana.
Solana rolled her eyes before grabbing Cj's hand. "Daijah."
"I didn't know you was gonna be here." I said as I looked at O'shea as his cue to leave us to have "family business."
O'shea looked me up and down and grabbed his girl hand as they walked away, going into the house. I'm glad he can take a hint better than he used to back in the day.
Well, I shouldn't say that because I was the troublemaker back then.
"Yeah, we stopped by to see my niece."
I raised a brow. "Who?"
"Blessing" She said as if she was so confident.
"Oh...you a product of Eric Wright?" I asked, tilting my head and furrowing my brows.
"Really D?" Corey interrupted. "That was uncalled for."
"I'm just sayin. She calling Blessing her niece like she blood line or something. Give my baby so I can go inside and speak." I said, reaching for my daughter.
Solana glared at me the whole time but she aint say shit. She always was smart, so I knew she was gonna do the right thing.
Dream waved bye bye to Corey as I placed her on my hip, walking up the cobble stoned drive way and into my sister's house.
"Blessing is definitely my niece. Wanna be down with the fam so bad head ass." I mumbled as I continued walking.
I didn't even give them the chance to follow suit. And I need to keep it that way and stay clear.
His box head ass, talking bout some really D? like you wasn't trying to throw that D in me last night.
Baby daddy's
_____
E'mani.
I had a moment to freshen up and get half way decent. Wearing black bodycon so it can make me look slimmer, I placed my hair into a sleek bun and applied a litte makeup.
I still felt shitty about my body since giving birth but hopefully I'm not gonna be one of those women who goes through postpartum depression. That was my biggest fear when I found out I was pregnant.
I sprayed some Burberry perfume on my wrists and the nape of my neck before placing my feet inside of my Love Pink Slides, making my way down stairs and into the kitchen.
All the important ladies in my life were here; my grandma, nana Vanessa, my mom's cousin Kim and of course my crazy god mother Rih.
They were down here laughing and placing any leftover food into the Tupperware's that was in my cabinets. Jason used to complain about me buying so much tupperware and I bet his ass happy now that we got all these left overs with some where to put them.
"Hey sexy girl." Rih chanted as she danced her way to me. "You look like a Milf already."
"Really" I shrieked, smacking my forehead and laughing. "You are too much."
Rih looked gorgeous as usual. She wore her hair down her back with her edges slicked down, an emerald green halter top with all white snow Guess Jeans and a pair of emerald green and snakeskin Versace sandals.
Her body was still intact after all these years. I hope to look as half as good as she does when I hit her age.
"She never did know what to say out her mouth." Nana Nessa giggled as she placed some dishes inside of the dish washer.
"Oh, come on ma, I wasn't that bad." Rih whined as she wrapped her arm around my shoulder, kissing my cheek. "Lala cursed way more than me."
"That's because you taught her way nastier language than I did." Nana shot back jokingly, causing everyone to laugh.
Kim even looked astonishing. Chocolate skin that was blemish free and radiant as ever and her million-dollar white smile.
She doesn't come around too much but when her and Uncle Ren do show up they shower me with so much love. I know Kim and Ren are technically my cousins but being that they are older, and Ren was like a younger brother to my dad, it makes sense to call him Unc.
"You feel better?" Rih quizzed me.
"Yeah. I just wish my mom and dad was here to see Blessing. I mean my dad prolly would of killed Jason, but he would of gotten over it." I snickered, thinking bout my dad finding out I'm pregnant.
"Now that's something I would have loved to see." Kim turned around with the Clorox spray in her hand, laughing. "Ya dad wasn't having that."
"You don't know how bad I wish Lala was here to see all this." Rih admitted, rubbing my shoulder.
"Shooo, I know Shayla would have been hogging Blessing and spoiling her rotten butt. I don't know who would have been Worst; Eric or Shayla." Grandma Kathie chuckled as she leaned on the island, shaking her head.
Before I could answer, I almost fell out my seat as I seen Daijah enter the kitchen, causing all the woman to stop what they were doing and looking at me.
"Hey ya'll." Daijah spoke softly before clearing her throat.
"Mhmm." Rih said as she walked away from me and leaving the kitchen after looking Daijah up and down.
"Let me go see what my husband doing. I think O'shea here too."
I swear, my god mother doesn't be with nothing. She doesn't give a fuck who you are or who you think you are, she'll throw shade anytime any place and don't think twice about it.
Wait, did she just say her son was here?
"Hey baby." Grandma Kathie said as she went to give Daijah a kiss and grab Dream, smothering her in kisses.
"You both look very nice, especially my great grand baby."
I could feel Daijah staring at me, causing me to look up and press my lips together.
She was looking at me, now approaching me. She had a diaper bag clinging from her shoulder as she stood next to me.
"Hey Mani"
"Hey Daij" I said, staring at her giving her a warm smile. "I didn't think you would be here. Well, anyone for that matter since this was a surprise."
"Yeah, well I heard through the grapevine and decided to stop by and you know give my niece a little something." she reached down in the diaper bag and pulling out a glittery envelope.
"Thanks."
I slowly peeled open the envelope and seeing at least 10 crisps $100-dollar bills.
"Oh, I can't take this." I said, closing it back and handing it to her.
"Nah-Nah, take it. Put it towards her college education trust fund or something to start her up. I know daddy left us some money, so I wanted to take a little something and start up Blessing's college education account."
I smiled. That was very generous of Daijah to do.
I mean, I still aint to fond of her but we are sisters and I think Dream may have changed her a little. I don't know yet.
"Hello Ms. Daijah." Nana spoke as she made her way around the island to give her a hug. "Its so good to see you. Beautiful as always", she hugged her tightly.
"Hey Ms. Vanessa." she greeted back. "Thank you."
"How's your mom and brother?" my nana questioned.
"Umm...they are okay. My mom had somethings to take care of, but she wanted Mani to know if she ever needed anything to call her. And Dom, he wasn't feeling too good, but he said he'll come see Blessing when he's feeling better"
I find it so weird. My mother and Tomica hated each other, well more so Tomica being a hatin ass ho on my mom's because daddy couldn't leave that ass alone.
My nana never mistreated Tomica or Daijah although she knows the history, and Tomica never mistreated me.
"We'll leave you two ladies to talk." Kim said as she left out the kitchen, with both my grandmothers behind her, taking Dream with them.
Daijah took a seat next to me on one of the stools that was in my kitchen. It was an awkward silence, and I was wishing someone would come in the kitchen, but no one did.
I looked over my shoulder to see O'shea entering the living room with some woman, causing my mouth to become dry as hell.
I guess Daijah sensed something and her eyes followed mine.
"Come on Mani." She said as she stood up, grabbing my hand. "I need to talk to you anyways."
I didn't care that Daijah was holding my hand and was leading me out the other exit of the kitchen into the second living room, which my office space and the girls play room when they're daddy want to be anal and make them watch the other TV.
I Just needed to know who the hell is O'shea with.
