Eira opened the door in her disheaveled condition, eyes drowsy, hair tied in a bun, pajamas that were rolled up a little from her feet and a thin shirt.
She looked up at the person who had knocked on the door and there he was.
Virat.
Virat, in that moment looked at Eira like she was his entire world, his eyes completely in love and so much in awe. His heart beat fast and hard, and Eira's did too.
While Virat's heart beat with love for Eira, Eira's heart thumped against her chest in fear and some sort of anxiety.
She didn't want to see him again. The last time she saw him, she could barely breathe, the last time she had come across him, she had a little breakdown, she had to get into a fight with her husband because of him.
Then why was he here? Why now? Why not four years before? Why did he have to come back into her life again? Why did she think it was a good idea to come to india in the first place?
Before Eira could start thinking of anything more absurd, she put on a brave face and looked at him.
"What are you doing here?" She hissed. Virat didn't seem phased by it, instead he gave her a smile. A smile that Eira could never forget but also the smile that haunted her dreams.
"It's really you, Eira." Virat said after a while. His smile had gotten bigger.
"Did you come here to get a conformation? News flash, yes. It's me." Eira rolled her eyes as those words left her mouth.
She was being rude but that's whathe deserved, and so much more.
Virat blinked still trying to wrap his head around the fact that she was here.
"Wow, I saw you at the wedding and I knew I had to see you again."
"Why are you here. Virat?" She questioned him coming straight to the point.
"I'm here to talk." He said, no hesitation and utter confidence oozing from him.
"I don't want to talk. Please leave, Mr Kohli." Eira responded, trying to close the door but he wasn't having it. Seeing her again meant he had a chance and he couldn't give up.
Not now.
"Eira, I wanted to apologise. I just-let me in please." He requested. Eira sighed, and shook her head again.
God, why was it so hard? He shouldn't be here.
"Virat, I suggest you leave before I call someone." She calmly told him this time.
"Eira, just one time. Let me talk." Virat requested again but Eira didn't have it. This time, she frowned and passed him a glare.
"You lost that chance four years ago, so just go."
She told him again, this time her voice had such an edge to it that it showed Virat, Eira wouldn't understand whatever he had to say.
Eira suddenly went inside, rushing towards the room as she heard a little crash, and a shriek.
She went inside to see Hani sprawled on the floor.
He had fallen from the bed after jumping on it multiple times. At that moment, Eira had completely forgotten to close the door so Virat took that moment to enter the suite.
While Eira cradled Hani in her arms, to stop him from crying and Virat stared at the moment playing in fronr of him with wide eyes.
Eira kissed Hani on the forehead as he sniffled in her arms.
"Look, all better now." She told him with a smile.
"Does it hurt?" Hani nodded when Eira asked that question.
Virat recognised the child instantly. The little boy was the reason Virat got to see Eira again.
"Mummies have special kisses, see..all better." She kissed him again, but what really rang in Virat's ears was what Eira had just said to Hani.
Was she really his mother? No, it couldn't be.
Having a child meant that-no. It wasn't true. She could never.
"Eira, who is that?" Virat's sudden question snapped Eira out of her trance and she scowled looking back at Virat.
"How dare you come in? Get out." She told him, her voice above a whisper but the intensity was there.
"Who is that, Eira?" Virat questioned instead, still looking at Hani.
"You're nobody to ask me that question." She mumbled back.
"Eira, let's talk. For once. We didn't talk back then and we are doing it again." He requested.
All he wanted to do was talk, but he had walked out on her four years ago and she could never forget that.
She knew he still had feelings for her, it was visible in his eyes. The stubborn and arrogant Virat Kohli would never request someone the way he was requesting her.
It was a shame that his love didn't matter to her anymore, or so she thought.
"There's no 'we' Mr Kohli. Now if you may leave, I need to pay my child some attention." Eira snapped.
"Your what?" He asked with widened eyes. Why couldn't he believe?
"Good Bye, Virat." Eira said walking towards him, trying to send him out the door.
"No, I am not leaving until you promise to meet me." He said again, crossing his arms.
"And why would I do that? Why would I meet the person I don't care about..at all?" She asked him with a blank face.
"Because you loved that person at a time and that person owes you an explanation." He responded softly.
Her heart beat a little fast at that.
"An explanation of what? Of humiliating that girl in front of everyone?"
She yelled clearly this time.
"No, of explaining his side of the story."
"There's no point. Get out of here before Faris comes back. I don't want any more drama because of you."
She hissed at him, she didn't want Faris finding out about them, neither did she want things to go wrong. Virat, being there wasn't right.
"Faris Al Borkan? How do you know him." He enquired.
"It's none of your business." Eira's response was cold.
"Tell me, I need to know. Where have you been? What have you been doing?"
Why did he care so much when he was the one who wanted to call the wedding off? Who broke up with her?
"That's it. I'm calling hotel security!" Eira exclaimed moving towards the phone but Virat walked in the same direction.
"Wait-Eira."
"Get out Virat."
Virat once again, tried to reach Eira and had to pick Hani up and put him at a side to be able to do that. Eira narrowed her eyes feeling protective all of a sudden.
"Don't you dare touch my child." She yelled.
"Your child? This is your child?" Virat once again asked her the same damn question.
"I don't owe you any explanation, Virat. So please get out of my room."
This time Eira's voice sounded defeated. Why wouldn't he leave? Why was he so hell bent on scraping the old wounds?
"Eira, I need answers please." Virat pleaded too.
Eira, in that moment realised Virat not only had feelings for her but he was still very much in love with her, because the arrogant Virat Kohli would never plead like that to just anyone. He had too much ego and pride for that.
Eira gulped, brushing her hands through Hani's hair. That act soothed her.
"I did too, but you were too much of a coward to give them to me." She replied.
Her answer truly made Virat feel more guilty than he already felt.
"Then don't be that coward, give me some answers, please talk."
"Me, choosing to not talk to you is my strength. Not my weakness. Good Bye, Virat."
And with that..they had to part ways. But it didn't matter because they would surely meet again.
