"I STILL REMEMBER THE DAY WHEN I MET HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME & IT WAS A DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET" said Misha as Sonakshi waited for her to continue.

"I met Dev for the first time around 6 months after you had left, but you know much before that I had actually researched about him when I was completing my Law studies. Probably you might not know but after you left the local media here published a lot about your broken marriage. Dev being one of the top-most businessman was an added bonus for them and they literally hounded him for days together yet could not get much information so they had made their own theories about it aided by some reckless & controversial comments by Vikram Tripathi. Dev was criticized, labeled an abuser, a playboy and called by many names, In fact for some time no one knew where he was. My curiosity increased and it was during this time I read a lot of articles about Dev. I got to know about his life's journey and other details, in fact I had a desire to meet him after knowing about him but then because of the way media portrayed him during the break-up made me have second thoughts about him. Gradually with time things had settled down and the media moved on to other things. Even I forgot about it and completed my studies after which I joined a small law firm. It was around 6 months into my job when I got a call from Tina" said Misha as Sonakshi looked on, slight tears were glistening her eyes listening to the time of their break-up along with the fact that Dev alone had to endure the scrutiny & criticism of the media, she had thought that she alone was suffering but at least she had her family with her but Dev had no one with him, even his own family had deserted him. She waited for Misha to continue.

"At first I was surprised that a big & reputed firm like Ishwari Communications had called me as I was just a novice and was starting out my career but then Tina had asked me to attend an interview. At first I was skeptical as I already had a withered image of Dev pictured in my mind but then there was no harm in attending the interview and then this could have been the big break I was looking for so I had decided to do the same" she said and paused.

Sonakshi kept looking at her, seeing Misha quiet she asked "Phir, Uskey baad kya hua Misha?"

AT ISHWARI NIWAS

While on one hand Sonakshi was trying to find about Dev's past, the case was no different with the sisters, they were sitting in Neha's room when Riya put forward her suggestion of meeting Ranveer to know about Dev's past.

"Ranveer? Ye tu kya keh rahi hai Riya?" asked Neha as she was stunned

"Haan Neha Di, Iss waqt sirf wo hi ek insaan hai jo humey Dev bhaiya ke baarey main bata saktey hai" replied Riya as Nikki chipped in at the same time

"Lekin Riya Di, Hum Misha se bhi toh pooch saktey hai?" she said as Riya turned towards her and answered "Haan Nikki, Hum unhey pooch saktey hai lekin mujhey nahi lagta wo humey zyada kuch batayengi, kal main ney unkey aankhon hum sab ke liye gussa dekha tha, gussa iss baat ki jab bhaiya ko hum sabki sabsey zyada zaroorat thi hum uss waqt unkey saath nahi they, gussa iss baat ka ki humney itney saal unhey akela chodd diya aur wo apni jagah sahi hai. Iss liye main keh rahi hoon ki humey Ranveer bhaiya se baat karni chahiye" she said as Nikki nodded but all this while Neha was silent, her past was flashing back in front of her.

"Neha Di, Mujhey pata hai ki aapkey liye ye difficult hoga lekin..." said Riya as Neha looked at her.

"Riya, Kya tujhey lagta hai ki jo kuch bhi humarey beech hua uskey baad Ranveer humari madad karega?" asked Neha as Nikki agreed with her

"Neha Di, Sach bataoon toh muhey bhi pata nahi lekin agar itney saalon main Ranveer bhaiya ne Dev bhaiya ka saath Diya hai toh I am sure wo humari madad bhi zaroor karenge" said Riya as Neha and Nikki nodded in agreement

"Theek hai Riya, Agar tujhey lagta hai ki Ranveer humari madad karega toh tum log uss sey milo. Main tum logon ke saath nahi aa sakti" said Neha, she did not want to face her past.

"Hum samajh saktey hai Di, Aap fikr matt kijiye hum bhaiya ke baarey main zaroor kuch na kuch pata laga ke rahnege" said Riya and added "Nikki, Chal humey zyada der nahi karni chahiye" as both left for meeting with Ranveer.

AT ISHWARI COMMUNICATIONS

"As discussed with Tina I attended the interview, I had cleared all the rounds and was almost guaranteed the job but I was said the final decision rested with Dev, so after everything Tina led me to Dev's cabin" said Misha as she looked at Sonakshi, Misha's thoughts went back to her meeting with Dev.

As both Tina and Misha entered Dev's cabin Misha was surprised while Tina stayed calm as the scene unfolding before them was common for Tina but not for Misha. After whatever she had read about Dev the businessman, she was expecting him to be a person with the highest professional etiquettes but before her the person who sat was anything but that. Dressed in a faded ripped jeans, a striped T-shirt and a Bomber jacket Dev sat on the edge of the table, he had rustic look which was completed with his ruffled hairs and trimmed beard. His one hand holding his mobile on which his vision was locked while his other hand had a Johny-Walker hip flask from which he was continuously sipping his whisky. He did not see the two women who had entered his cabin.

"Sir, Ms.Misha Rastogi is here" said Tina as Dev looked up from his mobile screen and gestured them to have a seat as Dev busied himself once again in his mobile as both waited for him to speak, after 5 minutes he looked at them and spoke.

"So, Ms. Misha Rastogi. How are you doing today?" he asked

"I am fine Sir, How are you?" she replied but Dev did not speak anything, he was carefully observing Misha

"Tina, have all formalities & procedures been completed?" he asked as Tina nodded in a Yes.

"So Ms.Rastogi, You will starting from Monday" he declared as Misha looked at him flabbergasted

"But Sir, I have not yet...." Misha replied but before she could continue Dev interrupted her.

"Well, any particular reason for you to not accept our offer?" he asked as Misha looked at him surprised that he could gauge her thoughts, there was only one question which was gnawing her mind right from the time she had had been called for an interview with Ishwari Communications, she felt this was right time to ask the question.

"Sir, there are so many well qualified & experienced legal experts in Delhi and I am sure everyone would be more than eager to work with a firm like yours yet why did you choose to call me. I am novice in this field with very little experience so I am actually perplexed that you have decided to hire me" she said as Dev looked at her closely, the look conveyed that he was clearly impressed with the person sitting in front of him. Normally anyone would give their arm to work with Ishwari Communications but here was a girl sitting in front of him who without any fear had asked him the a question which could cost her the job.

Dev got up & went towards the window contemplating on Misha's question without turning back he said "Ms.Rastogi, Not every question needs to be answered yet since you have asked the question let me try to answer it. But before that can you tell me one thing? What according to you is the Bedrock of any relationship, Be it Professional or Personal?"

For a moment Misha was surprised, she did not understand why Dev had asked her such a question but regaining her composure she said "TRUST"

As she said that Dev smiled, the girl in front of him was impressing him by the minute "Ms.Rastogi, You have answered your question" he said but the expression on Misha's face clearly suggested that she was confused but then something dawned on her.

"Do you mean to say you do not trust the experienced legal experts in Delhi?" she asked as Dev smiled once again

"It's not that I do not trust them but the problem is with experienced legal experts inadvertently One starts trusting them without giving actually building that trust up from the scratch. But with a novice like you the trust will not be immediate, you will need to gain that trust through your work. Trust is built upon a period of time and that's what I want from you as well. That you gain my trust in the work you do. So Ms. Rastogi, tell me now. Are you ready to take the job?" as Misha nodded her head vigorously in a yes, all her negative thoughts about Dev had dissipated. Asking Tina to complete the procedures he asked them leave.

"Why did he emphasize so much on the trust issue?" asked Misha to Tina as they exited Dev's cabin

"Misha, A lot has happened in Sir's life. You will get to know with time, for now here's your Joining letter and congratulations. Welcome to Ishwari Communications" said Tina as Misha thanked her and left while Tina picked her phone up and called someone.

"That was my first tryst with Dev. Though it was a small meeting but he had managed to leave me impressed with his thoughts" said Misha as Sonakshi looked at her, there was only one thought in her mind, though Dev was going through his own personal agony but he did not let it affect his business acumen, his looks might have changed externally but inside he was still the hardnosed businessman.

Misha continued "I had joined Ishwari Communications, Everything was going fine. I had started gaining Dev's trust in my work. There were some legal issues which needed to sorted out which I had handled with ease. At a professional level Dev and I shared a good rapport though we both did not know what was going on each other's personal lives and never did we try to know as well. It was during this time that I met Ranveer as well and came to know about the relationship he had shared with Dev, along with Tina we 3 became good friends. Even though Tina and Ranveer were friends with Dev as well but never did they divulge any details of his personal life with me and even I never asked about it. But then....." she said & paused as Sonakshi's breath hitched a bit but she listened silently waiting for Misha to continue

"BUT THEN THAT ONE NIGHT, THAT ONE NIGHT CHANGED THE RELATIONSHIP THAT I & DEV SHARED FOREVER"

Done, How was it??. Frankly, I am nervous as this is the part of the story which quite a few of the readers have been waiting for, so I do not whether I am able to do justice to their expectations or not.
