Surprised 😮 !!! Well, this update is for all those readers who were left disappointed with how this story ended along with those readers who had requested for an alternate ending🙂🙂.

So without further ado, here's the next part:-

AND AS DEV'S EYES CLOSED HIS GRIP ON SONAKSHI'S HAND LOOSENED WHILE THE EKG MONITOR BEEPED INTO A FLAT LINE.

As soon as that happened Sonakshi's breathe hitched seeing the scene unfold, the next moment she screamed "Doctor, Doctor" and ran out of the ICU. As she came out Misha and Badi Maa were left shocked seeing her while the Doctor with a couple of nurses made their way into the room while Misha and Badi Maa held Sonakshi who was trembling in fear as they asked her about the matter, but she just could not respond, but seeing her they could make out something was seriously wrong. They waited with bated breath for the Doctor to come out with Badi Maa praying fervently for his well-being.

The doctors checked Dev and immediately performed Defibrillation on him seeing him unresponsive, they were fearing the worst but just as they were giving up hope Dev opened his eyes as he sucked in his breathe as the doctors quickly stabilized him and immediately performed the necessary medication.

While outside the trio were waiting restlessly, each moment was passing as a year for them. Sonakshi was crying fervently as Misha tried to calm her down, trying to give her hope that everything would be fine. Half an hour later the doctor came out of the room as the trio rushed to him.

"How's he Doctor?" asked Misha breathlessly as the doctor smiled.

"Don't worry, everything is fine now. He is out of danger. Right now, because of the heavy medication he is unconscious but by tomorrow morning he should be regain consciousness" he said as everyone let out a sigh of relief, but the very next moment Sonakshi slumped down as the tears of sadness and tears in her eyes were replaced with tears of joy.

Misha sat beside holding her as she said "He is fine Sonakshi, he is fine. Your Dev is fine" as Sonakshi hugged her sobbing "Yes Misha he is fine, I thought I lost him again, but he is fine now, he is fine now Misha" she spoke smiling through her tears as Misha wiped her tears while Badi Maa wiped the tears in her eyes as she looked up and thanked god for saving Dev's life.

"Gayatri Ji, I suggest you guys should take rest. You all have been here since afternoon. Now that Dev is out of danger I will ask a junior doctor and a nurse to look after him. You all can spend the night at the hospital's guest house" said the doctor as Badi Maa nodded in agreement.

"No, I will not go anywhere leaving Dev" said the Sonakshi the very next moment adamantly.

"But Dr. Bose, he will not be conscious before tomorrow morning. And I cannot allow anyone to meet him before that so there is no point sitting here" said the Doctor as Sonakshi was about to protest but before that Badi Maa interrupted.

"Sonakshi, I know you are worried about Dev, but he is fine now Beta and Vidyut (the Doctor) is saying the right thing, let's go to the guest house. We will come back early in the morning tomorrow and anyways the guest house is nearby, if we are needed the hospital authorities will inform us. Right Vidyut" she said looking at him as he nodded his head in agreement. Unwillingly Sonakshi agreed but before that she went to the door of the ICU as she looked at Dev through the glass partition on the door, he looked pale and his head, right hand and leg were heavily bandaged while there were minor bruises all over his left hand and leg, but his breathing was even which reaffirmed her that he was fine.

After they had arrived at the guest house everyone freshened up. At around 9 their food arrived, Vidyut had made sure that the Trio were comfortable at the guesthouse, though no one had the appetite to eat It was important so that they do not fall sick, eating whatever little they could the trio retired for the night. While Badi Maa went to one, Sonakshi and Misha went to the other one. Misha had excused herself for some time as she wanted to go for a walk trying to get hold of herself with the happenings of the day while Badi Maa retired for the night, her age coupled with the exhaustion through the day both emotionally and physically had made her way to the room to catch some sleep.

Sonakshi was sitting on the chair in her room at the guest house staring into nothingness, the day was exhausting but sleep was far away from her. Numerous thoughts were running in her mind as she thought about the past eight months right from the time Dev left them and the truths tumbled out as a fear gripped her heart. Dev had cut himself off from everyone clearly indicating that he had given up on all his relations, but did he? Did he really give on up all his relations, on their relation? What would be his reaction once he wakes up? Would he return to his loved ones? Was he ready to give a second chance to their relationship? More importantly would he return with them? Badi Maa had said how he had made his own small world here with the kids at DRISHTI, would he be ready to leave them and return? What would she do if he refuses? Would she be able to handle it? No, she cannot, she knew it but what would she do? What would she tell Suhana and Golu? All these thoughts were just increasing the fear in her heart as the exhaustion of the day took its toll on her as she drifted into her sleep sitting on the chair itself.

On the other hand, Misha was sitting on the steps of the guest house staring at the stars in the night sky when she saw a car arrive and stop at the entrance of the guest house as soon as she saw the person getting down off the car she ran and engulfed the person into a hug.

"He is fine, He is fine Ranveer" she said as she broke down sobbing uncontrollably, the person was none other than Ranveer who had just arrived in Shimla long with Tina, he had left for Shimla along with Tina as soon as Misha had informed him about the accident. He had informed Elena and Mamaji but had refrained them from informing anyone about it till he asks them to. On the way to Shimla Misha had informed him about Dev being out of danger which finally relaxed him and Tina, Misha also informed him about their stay at the guest house. Arriving at Shimla they first went to the hospital and after enquiring about Dev's health they arrived at the guest house.

"Misha, calm down. Calm down, Dev is fine now. Please calm down Misha" said Ranveer still holding her as she slowly calmed down sniffing lightly as they made way inside the guesthouse, Tina made Misha drink water as the trio settled down on the sofa. After some time, she calmed down completely as she narrated the happenings of the day shocking Ranveer and Tina, they shuddered in fear at the very thought that they had almost lost Dev forever and thanked the almighty that he was saved in the nick of time as Misha broke down again while Tina tried to calm her down.

"Let out Misha, let your tears out. We know how you must have held your emotions within yourself so that Sonakshi or Badi Maa do not break down. Let out your tears Misha" she said as Misha's cries increased, after some time sleep descended upon her as Tina settled her on the sofa and along with Ranveer went to their room to get some much-needed rest after a long tiring & emotionally exhausting journey.

The chirping of the words along with the sunrays peeping into the living area broke Misha's sleep just as she heard "Oh, you are awake, Good morning" said the person who was none other than Badi Maa, she handed over the mug of coffee to her as Misha smiled taking the mug from her, just then Badi Maa's phone buzzed, it was a call from the hospital. As she picked the call and heard the person on the other end a smile formed on her face as she cut the call.

"Dev has regained his consciousness" she said with a smile as Misha smiled and got up quickly. "Let's go Badi Maa" she said as Badi Maa replied "You go ahead Misha, I will wake Sonakshi up and reach the hospital along with Ranveer and Misha" she said as Misha agreed and ran out of the door while Badi Maa went to wake Sonakshi up along with the others and give them the good news.

While on the other hand at Ishwari Niwas, Mamaji made his way to Ishwari's room only to see her fervently praying to god. The kids along with Elena had gone for a morning walk.

"Ye tu kya kar rahi hai Ishwari" he asked as she turned towards him and after completing her prayer she replied "Pata nahi Bhaiya, kal dopahar se hi mann main ek ajeeb si ghabarahat ho rahi hai, aisey lag raha hai jaisa kuch bura honey wala hai" she said as tears glistened Mamaji's eyes, ever since he had known about Dev's accident he was keeping his emotions in check but then late in the night he had informed about Dev being out of danger as finally he could breathe in relief.

"Jo bura hona tha wo ho gaya hai Ishwari, ab sabb kuch aacha hoga" he said as Ishwari looked confused at her as he continued "Dev ka pata chal gaya hai Ishwari" as Ishwari was left stunned

On the other hand as soon as Misha entered Dev's room at the hospital her heart pricked seeing him pale and weak. He was heavily bandaged just as he turned his head slowly hearing the door click as a smile adorned his face looking at the person.

Misha moved wordlessly towards him and sat beside him on the stool "Bohot burey ho tum Dev, sabsey itney naaraz they ki tumney itni door jaaney ka faisla kar liya. Hum kya itney paaraye ho gaye they" she said as tears glistened her eyes while Dev tried to speak, and a muffled voice came out of his mouth "So...sorry"

"And you should be, after all you scared all of us to death. Wait till you get fine after that I will punish you for scaring us" she said in a mock anger as Dev tried to smile, he tried to speak again "So...Sona" but before he could continue Misha said "Sonakshi is fine and safe" understanding what he wanted to say and then added "And she is here" as Dev's eyes widened.

Outside the room Badi Maa along with the trio of Sonakshi, Ranveer and Tina arrived at the hospital. Sonakshi hurried to the room as everyone else waited outside just as the Doctor arrived.

"Gayatri Ji, I wanted to tell you something" said Vidyut as she gestured him to go ahead while he continued "Generally after an accident of this magnitude, it's advisable that the patient is not stressed. So I will request you to make sure that nothing is spoken in front of Dev which could stress him out" he finished as Badi Maa nodded in agreement as Ranveer went with Vidyut to get more information about the medication to Dev.

As soon as Sonakshi entered the room her eyes met Dev as a joy engulfed her seeing him fine but the thoughts from last night clouded her mind while tears glistened her eyes, she made her way forward as Misha got up to leave them alone, as she passed Sonakshi she squeezed her arms to reassure her that everything would be fine as she exited the room.

Sonakshi was overwhelmed as she settled besides Dev, all this while Dev lay quite expressionless, it was as if he had no emotions left seeing her, taking his left hand into hers she said what she wanted to say ever since she had come to know about Dev's whereabouts.

"LET's GO HOME, DEV"

Done!!! How was it ??

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Now i know this is not the ending or closure the readers expected so here I wanted to ask for your opinion on a few things, please let me know your opinion in the comment section

1. Do you want a season-2 of this story which will show the journey of Sonakshi & Dev  from this point onward? The reason I ask this  is because already there are quiet a few Dev & Sonakshi reunion stories so will you be ready to read another one considering I had already written one of them i.e. "The Fractured Love"

2. If yes, then that story  will start only after at least one of my current stories "Love in the Air" or "Yeh Dooriyan" ends which will probably be by this month end, so will it be fine if I start the story after a month? And this will be a short story of maybe around 10 parts.

3. Considering quiet a few readers have already accepted the way it ended in the previous part will it be worth reading  if this story is written ? And that story will be my last story.
