Hoseok's POV-

Right after I hung the phone up with Jungkook I called Chan.

"Hey Hobi."

"Any news?"

"Kai is trying to get info but he hasn't found anything out quite yet. He's having a hard time asking her without sounding like he's fishing for information."

"Yeah that makes sense. Whatever he can get is helpful but he doesn't need to push it. Make sure he knows how much we appreciate him. Especially when he doesn't know Yoongi that well... So hey, I just got off the phone with Jungkook."

"What did he say?"

"He said that Yoongi was locked in his studio all day yesterday."

The line is silent as he processes what I've said.

"Is he at the company now?"

"Yes. He's in his studio. Also, he's trying to act like nothing's wrong, but he is angry. And hurt. We need to figure out why she's here. We also need to keep her away from him." I say while I drum my fingers on my desk anxiously.

I take a deep breath before I speak again, "I also think we need to tell Jungkook what's going on. He's now the closest one to him."

"I agree he should be in the loop, but I don't think it's our place to tell him the story. Yoongi needs to share that when he is ready."

I pout my lips, not very pleased with the answer he's giving, but he's right.

"Yeah, okay."

"Okay. I need to call Kai back so I'll be there later."

"See you then."

I end the call and place my phone on my desk. It really is so nice of Kai to be helping us. I hope he knows how much we appreciate him. It would be so much harder if we didn't have someone on the inside.

Kai is signed with the same agency as Irene and he is dating an idol, Jennie, that is close friends with her.

He has been trying to talk to people in the agency about her as well as Jennie to see if anyone knows why Irene moved from her apartment or if she even actually has.

He is also trying to get info on what Irene might be planning that she could have disclosed with Jennie. Hopefully he will get some info for us.

Kai is the one who told Chan that Seulgi might be living in the building, so he is doing well so far. Better than we would be doing by ourselves.

It's not necessarily a bad thing that Yoongi locked himself in his studio. It's one of his go to ways to cope with his feelings and working through them is writing it all down.

It's only concerning because when Irene tries to force him into an emotionally weakened state and he shuts down like this he is either about to crack and go back to her or he is staying away from everyone to keep himself level headed. It can really go either way.

It seems like this time it is the latter.

From the lyrics he shared with me today, he sounds like he's pretty motivated to not go back to her.

He's angry. Very angry.

He's calling it Tear.

Later that afternoon, Chan texted that he had arrived at the agency and was on his way to Yoongi's studio so I immediately left mine and headed that way.

When I got there Chan was just walking to the door. He got there before me, knocking just as I walked up next to him.

After a short wait Yoongi opened the door. He was silent as he looked at me, then Chan blankly before opening the door wider before turning to walk back to his chair.

"Have you heard anything?" He asks as he sits down.

"I just got off the phone before getting here and Kai confirmed that Seulgi is living in your building. He also said he spoke with Jennie and that as far as she knows, Irene is not."

"That's one question answered," Yoongi frowns, leaning forward in this chair, pressing his palms together with his elbows rested on his knees.

"I'm not going to crack. Not this time," he states sternly.

"You won't. We won't let you. Neither will Jungkook." I comment with a small, fond smile. "I spoke with him today and he is very concerned about you."

"I'm grateful to have him..." Yoongi pauses as what looks like fear flashes in his eyes before he blinks it away and looks back up at us.

"I was so distraught when I found out. I was with him when I got the call from Yeol. I was so angry and nervous and scared... Scared that it was too soon.

"That I wasn't as strong as I was the day I left. I had all of these thoughts in my head as I started thinking back on the relationship. I was so naive and blind. So damn blind.

"I spent all day yesterday thinking and replaying all the horrible things she would say. The way she would manipulate and turn things on me. I think I'm re-motivated to keep moving forward.

"At first I was scared of what she would do. But now I'm angry. I'm going to hold onto that anger if it means it will keep me in the mindset of not falling back into her trap."

"You told me before that she admitted to being the cause. What did you mean exactly?" Chan asks then.

Admitted? Admitted to what? I haven't heard about this.

"What did she say?"

"That day in Daegu when we had our fight. She admitted that she would sabotage any possible relationships for me in order to get me back.

"She said it was because she loved me so much and she knew the people in my life weren't right for me. It clarified it all for me. She admitted fault and confirmed it hasn't been me that's the problem like I made myself think. Like she wanted me to think. It's was her all along!"

"... She did that? And for that many years?" I murmur in disbelief, my jaw nearly dropping.

I am completely stunned.

How can someone be so cruel? And to someone they claim to care so much about no less.

"Yes. It was all her. She would try to bribe them or intimidate them to get them away from me. Remind me to tell you what she did to IU..."

He pauses as he shutters. "She can't talk her way out of this or confuse me into thinking I misheard her. Her and I are done. I'm done. Truly."

"That is great Yoongs! Me, Chan and Jungkook-"

"I actually have another issue I'd like to talk to you both about." He cuts my excitement off before exhaling deeply. "He can't be my assistant."

We are both taken back by this.

"What do you mean?" I blink in confusion, trying to keep my voice level even though I want to yell at him and smack him upside the head.

"I don't understand. You just said you were grateful to have him around. Why would you push him away?" Chan inquires with a little more emotion than I was expecting.

Well, I mean he is the one that set the whole thing up. He is the one who thought Jungkook would be so perfect for the job.

Perfect for Yoongi.

"I like him," he voices flatly as he moves to lean back on his chair with his arms folded over his chest.

"I like him and it's becoming a conflict of interest. It's unprofessional," he says slowly, emphasizing the words as he eyes Chan and myself, gauging our reactions.

"So you like him as in... you have a crush?" Chan asks, trying to clarify what our friend is saying.

"That's a bit of a juvenile label but I guess this could qualify as that."

"But..." I begin but trail off, searching for the right words as I try to understand.

I'm still not understanding what he's saying. I'd think he would want to keep Jungkook around even more if he has a crush on him.

"So, because you like him you want to fire him and push him away?" I ask with furrowed brows.

"No. Absolutely not. I need to not be his boss so no ethical codes will be violated. He is my employee and I would feel like I am taking advantage of him. I think I'm beginning to lean on him and rely on him in a far too personal way.

"It's all happening very quickly and I still don't fully understand it. I wasn't sure if I actually liked him or if I was just so desperate for attention, for someone to show any sort of interest in me at all, that I was grasping and making something out of nothing... but there was an incident today."

I raise my eyebrows, tremendously curious about this incident but I know full well that Yoongi will not be sharing any details on that.

I wonder if Jungkook will tell Jimin and then maybe I can get the details from him.

"So you're attracted to him. Then don't have him be your assistant. Date him, sleep with him, I don't know. Do something, but don't shut him out." I respond.

Chan sighs before he speaks up.

"Honestly, I think you should discuss all of this with him. He is like you Yoongi. He appreciates when people are direct with him. He values honesty.

"He is going to be the best one to talk to about this. Especially where this has to do with his immediate future. You have to bring up his living arrangements as well. Just, talk to him."

We both are silent as we digest what Chan has said.

I envy him sometimes. He gives such sound advice.

"You're right. I need to talk to him."

"He cares a lot about you Yoongs," I add, fondness and gratitude warming my chest as I do so.

"I told you he was special," Chan chimes, looking at both of us proudly. I roll my eyes in mock annoyance. This guy.

He is so happy that he gets to take credit for introducing Jungkook to our grumpy, grumbling Yoongi.

"He is special." Yoongi agrees, looking down at his lap with a shy smile and warm cheeks. "Very special."
