Jungkook's POV-

I just got off the phone with Hoseok and I am so confused as well as annoyed.

What the hell does he mean he's fine?! He fucking knows that's not true.

I can't imagine Yoongi just woke up today with a clear head and went to work like everything was lollipops and daisies this weekend.

I'm pacing in front of the windows and even with the open air and the blue sky above in clear view the room feels like it's closing in on me.

I have to get out of here. Get some energy out.

I make my way to my room, changing my clothes before grabbing my gym bag.

As I check the bag and make sure I have my wraps in it I remember that Yeri gave me her number.

I mull over inviting her to come up to meet me at the gym, but ultimately decide I think I'd rather be alone today.

She's nice and all, but I really don't want to have to be around anyone.

Not unless it's Yoongi.

I sling my bag over my shoulder, stop in the kitchen to fill up my water bottle, then get my shoes on before heading up to the roof.

Once I get there I see a few people on the treadmills as I turn to make my way to the punching bags. Once they come into view I'm glad to see no one is out there.

I step outside, throwing my bag next to the chair and sit down to start wrapping my hands. Once that is done I immediately get to work. I'm using much more force then I have in a while and my ears are ringing.

My only focus is the bag in front of me, until I feel a tap on my shoulder. I'm taken out of my trance and turn around to see Yeri.

Her hands are wrapped already and she is looking at me with a bit of caution in her eyes, smiling what seems nervously.

"I'm sorry to interrupt you," she says slowly, "You just looked like you needed to take a breather for a sec." She says as she hands me my water.

That's when I realize how hard I am breathing. How wildly my heart is pounding.

I don't even know how long I'd been going before she showed up.

"Thank you." I nearly gasp out as I take the bottle from her and take a few large gulps.

This is kind of awkward.

She wanted me to help her with boxing but I didn't tell her I'd be up here today doing just that...

I'm sure she can tell I'm not in the best mood, but still. I feel like I should apologize.

"I'm sorry I didn't text you to tell you I'd be here."

She smiles kindly up at me.

"It's okay. I can tell you have a lot on your mind. Do you maybe want to talk about it?"

I look at her, brow raises in mild surprise at the question.

I'd love to talk about it, analyze every single detail and work through what is going on and what to do about it, but not with her.

I have observed that she is pretty open minded and she might be a good listener, but something about her seemed off when she saw me with Yoongi yesterday.

I think she knew who he was and even though I'm confused, upset and dying to talk about it... what is happening is his business. Not mine and definitely not hers.

"No it's okay. Thank you though." I give a halfhearted smile as I bring the bottle back up to my lips.

"Are you sure? I'm a good listener," she pauses before she asks in a quieter voice "Did your, um... did your friend do something?"

Weird that she would bring him up first.

I guess we were holding hands when she saw us by the elevator.

Why would her first thought be that this has to do with him? That we are having a conflict?

I don't really have the energy to dissect that right now though, so I just made up an excuse.

"Just a little stressed with school. I don't really want to talk about it."

"Really, already? It's just started!" She giggles a bit as she moves to the other bag, throwing a few punches.

"Yeah." I decide to do Tae's trick and tell part of the truth so she can stop asking questions. "My living situation fell through just before school started. I will be moving soon so I'm having to balance that with school."

"Oh. Do you not live here with your friend?"

Again she's asking about Yoongi. What the hell?

"I was just here helping him."

"Oh okay... So he lives alone?"

Alright, that's enough. I'm not giving her anymore information.

"Do you live here alone?" I ask instead of answering, trying to turn the conversation away from myself.

"I am living with my Unnie actually. We split the rent. This place is expensive! You really thought my parents were paying for me to live here alone? Silly boy." She giggles but it sounds forced.

She is trying to lighten the atmosphere. She can tell I'm deflecting.

I step away from the punching bag, setting my water down on the ground as I start unwrapping my hands. "Yeah, it's definitely a nice place. Anyway, I'm going to get going. Sorry I can't stay longer."

"Oh, do you have plans with-"

I shoot her a glare, a silent challenge in my expression, daring her to finish that question.

If she asks about Yoongi one more time I swear I'm not going to be able to hold myself back and I might snap at her.

She gets the message that I'm done with her questions thankfully, clamping her mouth shut before she resumes her punching.

I finish unwrapping my hands and put my water in my bag before picking it up.

I let out a harsh breath, realizing I probably shouldn't leave on such a sour note.

She still was nice enough to offer to listen to me... despite her obvious fishing for information.

"Thank you for offering to help me. And again, I'm sorry I can't train with you today," I purse my lips, giving a small bow before turning around to get back downstairs to the apartment.

Yeri's POV-

As soon as Jungkook is out of sight I grab my phone to call and let her know I saw him.

"Yes?"

"He just left."

"Good. Did you get anything?"

"He said that he was here helping him."

"Anything else?"

"Nothing. He didn't want to talk about it. He wasn't in a very good mood," I pout, feeling bad I couldn't help more.

I was hoping to get more out of him for her.

"Thank you Yeri. He has your number now so we'll see if he texts you if he decides to talk. Then we'll go from there."

"Okay Unnie." I sigh softly before we say goodbye and end the call.

I'm glad she trusts me to help her. I know how much that boy Yoongi has hurt her.

Jungkook's POV-

As I walk up to the apartment door I hear the piano being played from inside.

I instantly rush to get my keys, scrambling to fish them out of my bag to get into the apartment.

Once inside I kick off my shoes and drop my bag inside the door before I all but run around the corner to the living room.

There I see Yoongi. Without thinking I run over to him, feeling the overwhelming urge to hug him, but stop when I remember I am a sweaty mess so I back away from him, feeling embarrassed.

He must have heard me rushing to him as he is now turned around, looking up at me from the bench.

He smiles gently before he stands up and wraps his arms around my waist, giving me a hug.

"I'm all sweaty." I grin, wrapping my arms around him.

"That's okay, we can take a shower," I hear him say and I'm surprised to hear the teasing in his tone.

Its unexpected but I'm not going to point it out. I'm afraid if I do he'll revert back to being aloof and guarded.

I wish you would just forget about that stupid dream." I chuckle as he pulls away to look at me.

"I can't." He says in a more serious tone, "That's why I need to talk to you."

"Okay..?" I blink, confused.

"I have some things to explain as well as discuss. But first you go shower, alone, then we can talk. No need to rush. I'll just be out here, playing." He smiles.

"Alright." I slowly nod, eyeing him closely, still very confused.

He offers a short nod back before turning back to the piano to start playing again.

I turn slowly when he's facing away from me to head off to the bathroom as suggested.

After my rushed shower and a quick change of clothes I head back towards the living room.

I don't hear the piano anymore but I can see in the reflection of the window that he is on the couch with his phone illuminating his face.

I step into the living room, choosing to sit in the chair across from him.

He looks at me, the corner of his lips ticking up. "I don't think it will ever not be entertaining when you choose to sit opposite me."

"Why would I miss an opportunity to see your face in it's entirety." I tease.

He leans forward with an eyebrow raised. "If you say things like that it makes what I have to talk about much more difficult for me."

"And what do you have to talk about?" I ask, mirroring his posture.

"A few things, but I want to start by telling you about her."
