Pop Princess
Jungkook's POV-
What a miserable day. I didn't think I drank that much last night, but the hangover I have today would disprove that.
My classes seemed to drag on and we ended up not ending the last class early like we did on the previous days. The classes weren't the worst thing to endure through today though. The bus takes that prize.
The morning was fine, there weren't as many people so it was rather quiet. The ride home though was a totally different story.
A group of what looked to be middle schoolers laughing much too loudly at a story one of their friends is telling them, a man talking loudly on a phone call, and a toddler that was upset and could not be consoled. It was chaotic and every sound seemed to be amplified.
A few hours after I had been at the apartment wallowing in my miserable state the movers showed up and got the last of the boxes and other things brought in.
Ironically, one of them being a mini bar cabinet.
My mother had texted me to check in and we had a conversation for a little bit until she had to get ready for work.
She still seems to be doing well. She said that she and Jiwon have started going to a book club that one of Jiwon's friends does and she has been enjoying it.
She says they mostly just sit around and drink wine and gossip about the neighbors, which is exactly what I had pictured a book club to be.
I haven't seen or heard from Yoongi all day. I wonder how he is, how work is going, and if I did anything to upset him last night.
Something I can't remember because I can't remember much to be honest.
I know he played me a song on the piano and that he made me drink like four bottles of water.
And I faintly remember seeing him walk out of my room while I was laying down in my bed so he must have helped me in there but I don't remember many details beyond those things.
I lounged around the apartment for the rest of the day, not having the energy to go workout and feeling bad that I have missed two days in a row now.
I hope Yeri hasn't been waiting for me. We should have exchanged numbers to coordinate times.
I'm sprawled out on my bed with a damp cloth over my forehead to try to dull out some of this aching in my head that pain killers are not seeming to help with at all.
The evening came slowly and ended up drifting off rather early.
........
I woke up with a sore, dry throat in desperate need of some water. I walk out of my room and as I step into the hallway I'm shocked when I see light. Sunlight. How long did I sleep for?!
I make my way over to the living room and peak around to see if there was anyone there but it was empty.
As I go further into the room with the intention of walking to the window to look out at the busying city, I am deterred from the plan as I hear music coming from the studio.
I tiptoe to the door and put my ear to it to try and hear the beat better. I hear not only a melody, a beautiful melody, but also singing. I don't recognize it though.
I don't think it's one of the songs I had heard when I was going through YouTube the other night. At least I don't think it is as I have to really strain my ears to hear anything.
I stand and listen a little longer before I am startled by the lock clicking before the door opens.
Yoongi jumps back when he sees me and hits his elbow on the door frame.
"Goddamnit," he hisses quietly as he rubs his elbow, lips stretched thin. "Why didn't you knock or something?"
"I'm sorry! I didn't want to bother you. I was just listening..." I say with a pout, feeling guilty that he hurt himself because of me. "Are you okay?"
We were still standing in the door frame so he nods towards the living room, signaling me to back out of the hallway.
I turn and start walking to the living room and he follows behind, still rubbing his elbow.
"It's fine. Don't worry about me."
I step to the side so he can walk past me as he continues on to the kitchen.
"That song was beautiful. I mean, I couldn't hear it all that well or make out the lyrics, but it sounded nice."
"It's a gorgeous song. It's actually Namjoon's. He asked if I would do a feature on it."
"Oh?" I murmur, not doing very well at hiding my curiosity.
I'm hoping that he will offer to let me listen to it, but he grabs a glass from the cupboard and a bottle of cold brew from the fridge without saying anything.
He puts some ice from the freezer in the cup, then walks around me, glass in one hand and the bottle in the other, to walk back in the direction of the studio instead.
"It's good that you're awake actually. We have to meet the realtor downstairs in about an hour and a half." He says over his shoulder as he keeps walking.
"Yoongi?" I call after him. He doesn't turn around but he does stop.
"Did I do something the other night to upset you? I'm really sorry if I did. I think I drank more than I thought and I don't really remember anything."
He then turns to me with a soft expression. "No Kook. You didn't do anything wrong. You talked a lot, but we don't need to go over that right now." He chuckles lowly.
"It's mostly just that I didn't get much sleep last night," he gives me a kind smile.
"Oh, okay." I say rocking on my feet a bit.
"You know, if you need shirts you can borrow one of mine. Or better yet, I'll take you shopping." He says with a teasing tone.
I look down, just now realizing I didn't have a shirt on.
"Oh! I didn't even realize I wasn't wearing one. I just prefer to sleep without it." I laugh lightly. "Anyway, I'll start getting ready in a bit but I'll let you get back to your song."
I gulp as I watch his eyes wander over my exposed skin before he brings them up to meet mine.
"Right, sounds good. I won't be too much longer." He then turns back around to head back into the studio.
I smile a little at his not so subtle staring as I turn to go back to my room.
Yoongi's POV-
The realtor just left a few minutes ago after giving me the keys to the new apartment.
Once I got the door opened Kook strolled in with his hands in his pockets, glancing around only a little as he walked straight ahead, stopping once he was in front of the windows to admire the view in front of him.
This place is the exact same layout as mine including the wrap around windows he loves so much.
After looking out the window, he turns back towards the apartment, walking forward a few steps as he looks at the living room area to his right.
I have moved to the kitchen and am leaning my back against the kitchen island with my elbows rested on the cold surface on either side of me.
I've been glancing around the place every now and then, but mostly I've just been watching him.
He flashes me a big smile as he walks past, only glancing at the kitchen behind me, as he heads towards the hallway around the corner.
I follow behind him as he enters the master bedroom, watching as he completely ignores the space and walks immediately to the bathroom.
Just before I walk through the entrance to the bathroom I hear an exaggerated sigh of relief.
I walk fully inside to see him standing in front of the glass doored shower.
"This shower I can work with. This was really the only deciding factor for me." He chuckles, looking at me before looking back at the shower with a big grin.
"So you would have turned down a free place to stay if the shower wasn't downgraded?"
He turns to me with feigned offense. "Downgraded is a bit harsh. I'd say user friendly is a more suitable description."
"That does sound a bit better." I laugh at his expression.
"I would have demanded it to be ripped out and replaced if it was a spaceship like yours." He says as he turns towards me with his nose in the air.
"Oh is that so?" I raise my eyebrows.
He starts walking towards me as he lets out a big breath of air and relaxes back into his previous posture.
"No. I would be glad to live here even if I had to take a class to work the shower. I am so thankful that you are letting me live here. Thank you." He says, standing in front of me with a gentle smile.
"I will do anything I can to help you Kook. Even replacing the shower if it was requested. You know though, I don't have a problem helping you work that shower you hate so much."
His cheeks flush at my statement and I see him gulp before stuttering out, "T-that won't be necessary."
I take a step closer to him to get a better look at his features to see if my eyes are deceiving me. But as I look closer I see I'm correct. But why is he blushing? What did I say?
"Why are you blushing? I didn't say I would shower with you."
He inhales sharply at that with his jaw slightly agape before quickly closing his mouth.
I raise one of my brows as something occurs to me. Was his dream the other night about the shower? About he and I in the shower?
That can't be the case... but why else would the last few things I've said fluster him if that weren't the case?
This really might be the case.
I look at him with a mischievous smile as I ask, "What was your dream about Kook?"
"I- I don't... What dream?"
I smile a little bigger as I observe his increasingly flustered state.
"You told me about your dream the other night. What was it?" I say as I start walking forward.
"Just a dream. I-it was nothing."
He has started to back away from me but I follow his movements. He only stops when he comes into contact with the bathroom counter.
I continue walking forward, stopping when I am just in front of him before placing both hands on either side of him to rest my palms on the edge of the counter.
I keep my eyes locked with his and find myself smirking more when hear him inhale sharply.
"You said I was good." I smirk as I tilt my head. "What was I good at?"
I am surprised when I see some of his anxiousness melt away and the corner of his lip turn up at my question, his eyes now seeming to sparkle with amusement.
"Have you been thinking about that all this time?"
I smile wider at his tone. What a tease.
His eyes travel down to my lips, holding that same smirk as he says, "You showed me how to work the shower."
The air between us is electric and I am so tempted to close the gap between us.
I am managing to stay on top of my emotions until what he says next makes me want to surrender what little self discipline I'm clinging to.
In a tone barely above a whisper he says, "Pretty and hot." As his eyes stay fixed on my lips before they are brought slowly back up to meet mine.
Just as I pull my bottom lip between my teeth, debating if I should submit to this overwhelmingly tempting Adonis in front of me, my phone begins to ring.
We are both snapped out of our trance and he averts his eyes while clearing his throat.
I take a step back, pulling my hands off of the counter as I reach into my pocket for the phone to see it's Yeol.
Still looking at Kook I bring the phone to my ear.
"Hey. What's up?"
"H-Hi, have you been online today? Seen anything?"
"Like what?"
I'm confused. What is he talking about?
"Just..." He lets out a long sigh. "I'll send you the link. Hold on."
The line goes quiet for a few seconds before my phone buzzes. It's a link to one of the K-Pop Idol news sites.
Okay... did they write something about me?
I click on the link and the article pulls up.
Has Pop Princess Irene Found A New Castle In Seoul?
I scroll down, skimming over the first few paragraphs.
It says she was seen leaving this building, my building, and that the photo was taken this morning.
"For fuck sakes." I growl.
