I Prefer Wine
Jungkook's POV-
It took hours to get Yoongi calmed down. He's so worried about what could happen to me. What this crazy woman will do to get Yoongi back. Or to get back at him.
She is so obsessed with him that even though he knows her secret about her meddling in his life, ruining any possible relationships for him, she still wants him and she seems pretty confident that she'll get her way.
From what Yoongi had shared tonight, I don't think she wants to date him. It is completely about control. About maintaining co-dependency. I am completely out of my depth with this.
It's not like this is a crazy fan you can get a restraining order against and security can keep away from you.
This is a very well known, widely beloved idol with a lot of resources, connections and people willing to do anything for her, whether they are employed to do so or are just devoted fans.
And if that weren't enough, she is also signed to one of the most powerful entertainment companies in the country.
Any sort of legal action can be easily covered up and swept under the rug by either the company's legal team or her own personal team.
They could ruin Yoongi if it got far enough. Take away everything he has worked for.
She's an unassailable opponent.
I don't even know where to begin to help him deal with this. He is so distressed, and rightfully so.
He was visibly shaken when he came in and I showed him the contents of the box as well as the card but then retelling his relationship, talking about the emotional abuse he has had to go through for years is absolutely heartbreaking.
I asked him if all of his friends knew about his relationship and he said for the most part they did.
"This isn't a story I just go around telling though, Kook. I hate that I am so weak. That she can so easily come in and out of my life no matter how many times I have told myself I was better off without her." He said as he held his head in his hands.
"Yooni, it doesn't sound like you are weak. She would create the circumstances that would cause you to be vulnerable and that is when she would reemerge in your life. In those moments you would see her as a blessing, a savior, and she knew that."
I continued to hug him tightly as I spoke gently, "You are not weak."
I asked him if we should have some sort of meeting with all of us and he agreed that would be a good idea. Once he consented to the idea, I got on his phone and sent out a message to have everyone meet tomorrow. Everyone meaning all eight of us.
We were going to come to Yoongi's, but Chanyeol suggested we go to the company instead. It'll be more secure.
So we will meet there tomorrow evening but until then, my only focus is to help Yoongi however I can.
"We should get you in bed. Should we stay here or do you want to go up to your place?"
"I don't want to leave but I think we will probably be better to go to my place."
"You do have more locks on your door." I say in an attempted light tone.
He nods his head in agreement before climbing off of my lap to stand up while I go to my room to quickly change into something more comfortable.
I don't know why, but I had the idea to bring my laptop.
Yoongi has his in his apartment but it is usually hooked up to a bunch of things in his studio and I figured we could watch a movie or something in his bed together. Something to distract him from his anxiousness.
I tuck my laptop under my arm and drape the charging chord behind my neck so it hangs in front of my shoulders. On my way out of my room, still with distracting from anxiety in mind, I decide that we could probably benefit from some alcohol.
I don't have a lot of alcohol around generally, but I have a random bottle or two currently.
I go to the fridge, grabbing the bottle of wine Tae had given me as a house warming gift.
I come around the corner to see Yoongi stood by the door rubbing his palms together nervously.
"It'll be okay Yooni. I'm not going anywhere."
He gives me a quick nod with pursed lips before opening the door. When we're both stood in the hall I have him get the keys out of my jacket pocket to lock the door since I have the laptop and the bottle in my hands.
Once it's locked we walk to the elevator and he presses the button to call it to our floor. We wait for a moment as it comes to our floor.
We hear the ding before the doors slide open to reveal a woman with long dark hair looking down at her phone while a bouncing Yeri is next to her speaking excitedly.
Her sentence stops mid way when she sees me standing in front of her.
I glance at Yoongi and he is stood looking surprisingly relaxed, his shoulders are a bit tense but not too noticeably, with his hands in his pockets and a blank expression on his face.
His eyes are fixed on the two in the elevator. He isn't paying particularly close attention, if any, to Yeri though. He's looking at the dark haired woman. This must be Seulgi.
I turn back to the elevator and see that both women are looking at me. Yeri is darting her eyes between myself and Seulgi as our gazes are locked.
"Evening Gentleman." She says with a smirk moving her eyes from mine to Yoongi until turning towards Yeri, nodding towards the opening next to me for her to exit.
Yeri steps around me while my eyes are still locked with Seulgi as Yoongi steps into the elevator. Seulgi steps around me with a disingenuous smile shortly after.
I'm about to follow Yoongi inside when I stop with one foot against the door so it doesn't shut and one in the hall as I raise my voice.
"Miss?"
She turns in my direction with raised brows, Yeri doing the same from further down the hallway.
I raise the bottle in my hand up as I say casually, "I appreciate her congratulations, but I prefer wine."
I then smile, give a quick wink before stepping fully into the elevator where Yoongi pushes the button for his floor.
The ride is silent. I feel quite proud of the previous events but Yoongi still has that blank expression on his face. I swear if I look closely the corner of his mouth is turned up ever so slightly though... but I can't fully tell.
We get to the floor and into the apartment, triple checking all the locks are locked. Yoongi makes his way to his bedroom while I take the wine, setting it in the fridge before making my way to his room with my laptop.
When I walk in the room I see him standing with his back to me near the foot of his bed, his tilted down, staring towards the floor.
I walk to the bedside table on the side of the bed closest to me and set my phone down before placing my laptop on the bed.
When I turn back to walk to Yoongi he has already begun slowly walking towards me with one hand on his hip as the other traces his finger across his bottom lip.
"Kook... what do you think you're doing?"
I raise an eyebrow, not understanding what he is asking.
"What do you mean?"
He is pursuing his lips looking like he is trying to conceal a smile. "After all my stories today about Irene you still have the nerve to openly mock her to her friends!"
"Why not? You've said that I don't seem like someone who backs down from a challenge. With that in mind I would argue that it would be more strange if I didn't stand up for myself."
I take a few steps towards him as I tilt my head, "Last time I checked, we are two very stubborn individuals who are not easily intimidated. We will not be bullied by that woman. You're not hers anymore."
He speaks up quickly, "Am I yours then?"
I put my hands on his waist as I pull him closer to me to press my forehead to his.
"You're not anyone's. You don't belong to anyone but yourself," I say gently.
I see him finally let the smile he's been hiding free as he looks at me with adoration glistening in his eyes.
"I don't deserve you Kook."
I bring one of my hands up to his cheek to wipe a stray tear.
"You deserve the world." I kiss his forehead before pulling away. "Now go get changed, shower if you want, and I am going to go have a glass of that wine that I recently claimed to love so much to a stranger." I wrinkle my nose a bit as I smile.
"By the time you are ready to get in bed I'll be laying right there warming up the blankets for you." I say as I point over to my side of the bed.
"Thank you Kook." He gives me a quick kiss, pulling away before I lean forward again for us to connect our lips once more.
No matter how many times we do this, I am always counting down the minutes until I get to kiss him again.
"I'm not going anywhere." I whisper after we separate.
He smiles at me as he brings his hand up to cup my cheek before he turns towards his bathroom.
I can still see the hesitation in his eyes. He still has doubt.
I will say it a million times if I have to for him to understand that it's the truth.
Wherever he goes, I go.
