Bad Friends

*Back At Tae's House*

Jungkook's POV-

The first thing I notice when I open the door is an empty foyer. The pile of boxes and bags is gone, the only things left being a single backpack with a pillow balanced on top of it.

The second thing is the muffled voices slightly echoing from somewhere in the home. They don't sound too far away, maybe just a few rooms over, nevertheless I'm still unable to make out what they're saying or identify who exactly they belong to.

I take a few more steps into the house, closing the door behind me and wincing when it makes a loud thud just as it did earlier.

"Loud ass door." I mumble before turning to make my way further into the house to find whoever is here.

The door definitely alerted my arrival as I don't get very far before thundering footsteps are heard rushing up the hall towards me. Before I can even round the corner I am nearly tackled to the floor while a pair of arms are wrapped around me tightly.

Seeing nothing but blue for a few moments before they pull away and I am face to face with a very sad looking Taehyung.

His lips are pouted out and his eyebrows furrowed as he looks at me. His big eyes shining with tears.

"You smell like coffee."

What?

With everything that's happened today, after I physically left his home because of the overwhelming shock he was partly responsible for, his first comment upon seeing me is to declare that I smell like coffee? Unbelievable.

My annoyance must have been written all over my features because almost immediately Tae brings me back into a hug.

"I'm so sorry." He says quietly.

I stand stiffly, arms hanging at my sides until I feel his shoulders shake slightly and he lets out a muffled sob.

I relax a bit in his hold and wrap my arms around him in return. Trying to comfort my sensitive friend. It isn't until I feel someone come up next to me that I realize Jimin was the other voice I had heard.

He too comes towards me to wrap his arms around my side, saying a muffled "I'm sorry too."

I move one of my arms from Tae to drape it over Jimin's shoulders. I can hear them both sniffling now.

I pull away and take half a step back to get a better look at their faces.

From their red puffy eyes I can see that these are not the first tears they have shed today.

I do feel bad they are sad and I am thankful they apologized, but I'm still deciding whether to continue being mad at them or just forgiving them.

That is when I am reminded just how well these two actually know me as Jimin pretty much reads my mind and starts to speak.

"We know you're upset, and you have every right to be. Please understand that we had no intention of actually upsetting you the way we have. We would never knowingly trick you into a situation like we did today if we had any idea the way it would effect you.

"We acted very, very stupidly and were bad friends today. We don't expect it to be soon, but we hope you can forgive us." He finishes with a trembling lower lip, more tears threatening to fall.

"A-and..." Tae suddenly speaks up, raising his eyes to meet mine. "This was my fault. It was my idea not to tell you Jin-hyung was here and I convinced Chim to go along with it. I wanted to get back at you a little for embarrassing me the time at that restaurant in front of Joy, but this went horribly wrong.

"What was supposed to be a funny thing for the three of us to laugh about turned into... an emotionally traumatic disaster." He says, letting a few tears fall before wiping them away.

"Take your time, just please know how badly we feel and how sorry we are. Please try to forgive us. We'll do whatever we can to make it up to you. I'll even let you pick something out of my closet when I get unpacked." He finished with hopeful eyes.

His last statement suddenly makes me remember the missing pile of stuff.

"Where is your stuff?" I ask in a flat voice.

Although I'm still mad, or at least annoyed, I still find myself leaning more towards forgiving them and forcing the happenings of today into the far corner of my mind not to be thought about at least until after we get to Seoul.

I think I'll let them think about what they've done a little longer before I let them know that.

I can tell the fact that I responded with my question instead of commenting on their previous heartfelt words took them both by surprise.

After sharing a look with Tae, Jimin is rather quick to answer. "They took most of the stuff with them. We were able to move a few of my things from my car over to theirs as well to clear up a bit more space in my back seat. Everything is packed and we're ready to go. We were just waiting for you."

"Not that you took a long time or that we are in a hurry or anything." Tae rushed out as soon as Jimin finished his sentence. "My stuff is loaded and..." He hesitates before casting his eyes away from mine, "They will meet us at the new place in Seoul."

Looking back to Jimin I find him avoiding looking at me as well. I continue to look between the two as I observe their sorrowful expressions. They feel bad. They're trying to be delicate and considerate of my feelings-

Just then I realized they both used "they" instead of their names. I can't help the smile that ghosts over my lips at the small gesture, knowing that was their way of attempting to not make me feel any worse. To spare me from being hurt any further.

"I love you idiots you know. Even when you do stupid shit. But I know you didn't mean for any of that to happen the way it did. Thank you for apologizing." I say while giving them both a soft smile.

Tae, for the third time now, throws almost his whole body weight at me as he brings me in for another hug, while Jimin resumes his previous position at my side with his arms around both Tae and I.

After what I decide is a sufficient amount of time I wriggle my arms loose from my friends' death hold before softly nudging their shoulders so they can stand up straight.

"Alright then, that's enough tears for today I think. We should really get going." I say, glancing down at my watch trying to calculate our approximate arrival to Seoul.

"We should get there in about two and a half to three hours tops I'd say. Assuming we will stop to eat at some point since I, for one, haven't had a proper meal today. Have you two eaten?" I ask with a hint of concern, to which they both shake their heads indicating they have not.

"We better stop somewhere close by then so we're not all hangry and stuffed in a car for hours."

Tae's face lights up as he claps his hands together, "Oh! There is a super good ramen place not too far from here we can go to! It's basically on the way out of town."

"Yes! That would be great. And we were going to have to stop for gas anyway so we can do both." Jimin says, showing his bright eye smile.

"Perfect, let's head out!" I say showing a much bigger smile then before, mouth already watering just thinking about slurping down a big bowl of kimchi ramen.
