Introduction!

Starting from ASAP GODDAMMIT, I'm going to endeavour to write at least one thing per day for a whole month, be it one paragraph or ten. Setting goals such as a 30- day or specific length/ themed challenge are great ways to get back into writing if you haven't written for a while, or if you're a little stuck on what to write. Writing has also been a tried and tested method of therapy, and many Wattpadders and published authors will be able to attest to this. Below are a list of the prompts I'll be using, so maybe you can try this too!

Note: If there is one day when I know I won't have access to the internet, I'll upload two pieces in one day, to make up for the day missed. I will try to keep this up!

I WAS going to use the title "Liquorice Allshorts" but that's been taken by someone a thousand times more brilliant than I am, so that's the story of how I named my book.

1. The asteroid was hurtling straight for earth...

2. Write about your body.

3. Your character suspects their husband or partner is having an affair and decides to spy on them. What your character discovers is not what they expected...

4. Write about a time when you found it difficult to forgive someone.

5. Choose a cliché and write an argument against it- use your own or someone else's experience to make it sound better. Cliches include: "All good things come to those who wait", "money is the root of all evil", "laughter is the best medicine", "love is blind" et cetera. It also works for stereotypes and old wive's tales.

6. What invention would you like to see in your lifetime?

7. Write a day in the life of a dog or cat.

8. Which character from a book would you most like to meet and why?

9. 10 things that make me feel good.

10. Who from literature would you most like to meet/ talk to and why?

11. Write about a book that really stuck with you in some way; whether you liked it or hated it.

12. Describe the best concert you ever attended.

13. "As I approached the deserted house at the end of the road, I saw..."

14. Write about a meeting in a corporate office that goes horribly, horribly wrong.

15. Start your piece with this sentence: "Every morning I wake up in the armpit of this alien world."

16. Places you've enjoyed visiting.

17. What is your take on soul mates?

18. Write about time travel kittens and foreign currency.

19. Write about rain. Or a situation where it is raining.

20. Write a letter to your favourite celebrity.

21. "I have always imagined that Paradise will be some kind of library." - Jorge Luis Borges. Write something based on this quote.

22. Actually Try to find faults in something you really like.

23. Actually Try to find good things about something you hate.

24. 10 activities that you love. Give a short reason why for each one if you can.

25. 10 people that you love. (Short reason if you can)

26. 10 famous lines from books/ movies/ songs. Why have they stuck with you?

27. If you could go back in time and change one thing from your past, what would it be? (if not, why not?)

28. 28 of your favourite songs! (Give a short reason if you can!)

29. Why do you like writing? What does it do for you? What did you learn from this 30- part exercise?

30. Thirty things that make me smile in everyday life.

Another interesting idea you might like to try is to use Ask.fm. Depending on the question, you could write a short piece on however many questions you wish to be asked using the "ask me a random question" feature. Just an idea for anyone who's stuck!

I hope this proves to be enjoyable for both you and I. If anyone needs tips or help editing etc, I can help! I got a B doing A Level English Literature so I must know something :P
