Challenge 19: Rain
"Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain, telling me just what a fool I've been..."
For a long time now, rain has been associated with sadness, isolation, and general negativity. But does it necessarily have to be that way? Does everybody feel the same about precipitation?
I for one quite like (well most of the time). It has a soothing sound on the windows and freshens up the air/ atmosphere after a particularly "muggy" (or heavy/ humid) day. It gives life and nourishes the land.
Sure, there are floods. Mudslides. This has less to do with rain itself and more to do with the way the ground is constructed or the minerals in the ground. There are plenty of ideas and plans that help improve areas prone to rain- induced natural disasters.
Rain's also good at washing stuff away. Maybe more physically than metaphorically, but still. If your dog was so dirty it looked as if it'd never be clean, and a pelt of rain came thundering down, you'd praise it for washing away most of the dirt as you rushed home.
I realise this turned out to be rather documentary- like, for which I apologise if you're not into that kind of thing. I also know it's short, but hopefully I did a good job.
There's not so much you can write about rain.
Until next time.
