Challenge 11: Write about a book that really stuck with you in some way.
I'm not going to go for the obvious answer in this situation (Books such as Harry Potter, for example). One book I particularly liked- or rather, one of two books I've read by this author from the same AU- was 'The New Girl' by S. L. Grey. He's a brilliant author, trust me. It's a rather quirky novel set in South Africa, where there's a dystopian alternate world, and people from said world integrate into society… Anyway, let's not get into the plot any further.
What I liked about it was the fact that this alternate world was so similar yet so different. It had a bizarre, somewhat grotesque air to it, and it reminded me of something out of a Marilyn Manson song or something. The main protagonists, too, had a wonderful depth and quality to them- I could tell whenever each one was thinking or speaking, for example. We were told enough about them- too much description about a character in one go can be exhausting. I am absolutely in love with this and 'The Mall', also set in South Africa and the dystopian AU, and I'd love another book to be written. It's something that could transfer to TV/ the big screen perfectly in my opinion.
