Challenge 10: Who from literature would you most like to meet and why?

I've taken this to include both the authors and characters of classic literature. As per usual, I've got too many ideas to choose just one, so I'll probably pick a couple of people to talk about.

Starting on a somewhat nerdy note, I'd love to meet Charles Dickens. Seeing him in that Doctor Who episode with the 9th Doctor provoked me to wonder if he really was like that. Is his sense of humour as dry as Scrooge's nature perhaps? I'd love to know. Being an author who often satirically or critically commented on the values and norms/ stereotypes of Victorian society, I'm positiely itching to find out what he would have thought of life today. I imagine he'd have a few admirable comments and a few choice words!

Secondly (and perhaps on a more former- English- Lit- student- nerdy note), I'd love to meet the chracters of King Lear (although they all fucking died so no chance there lmao). Were Cordelia's sisters really as shallow as they appeared? Did the characters enjoy any sports or music? Most of the time we only get to see the negative side of some of the characters and the rather tragically heroic side of others. I'm sure, had more of them survived or if it were a novel, we would have learnt a lot more about the characters. It's a wonderfully deep story, if a bit miserable lol.

If The Bible can be considered literature, I suppose one of the more popular answers to this question could be Jesus Christ. I bet loads of people out there want to know how he performed some of his “miracles”- was he really miraculous or a Galileean Dynamo? Did he have a sense of humour at all? Were there any activities besides religious ones that he enjoyed? What would he think of life today? (I suppose Christians would say that he already knows, but for the purpose of this enquiry we're on an entirely secular level here).

There are so many questions I'd like to ask these people and more. Despite the depth and wonder of so many stories, people are still left asking questions at the end sometimes and honestly I think that's wonderful.
