Chapter twenty six
"I'll cook it my way." Mrs Suri huffed in anger. The family was discussing the menu for Meera's Birthday. A few days were left and the mother wanted to cook each and every dish according to her own wish.
"But I don't like fennel in it!" Meera wasn't backing down. It was her birthday and not her mother's. She wanted things her way. "Like I would listen to you!" Mrs Suri stuck her tongue out causing Meera to stomp her foot madly and leave the kitchen. Mrs Suri smiled at he retreating form. "Swaeg." Hyolyn and Bora ended up laughing after hearing such words coming from Mrs Suri.
"Why is my baby so mad?" Daniel pulled the girl's body closer and gently stroked her hair.
"Because Mumma is going to cook something for my birthday and I don't like it." Meera tried to pout but then gave up. Daniel chuckled seeing her try and pulled her closer if possible. "You'll have me on your birthday then why worry about some dish?" He whispered near her ear adding to the tension between them. Meera closed her eyes feeling his breath on her skin. She squirmed a little in his embrace with blushing cheeks. Daniel smiled seeing her flustered self. "You get turned on just like that. I wonder what will happen on your birthday." He continued to tease her as his fingers went up and down her thigh.
"No~" She pushed his hand and moved away from him. She knew that she won't be able to control herself. Daniel laughed at her reaction and ruffled her hair. He held her hand and pulled her closer. "Okay." He said. They cuddled together for sometime before Hyolyn came.
"Meera! Come downstairs."
Daniel also stood up from bed. "You won't wait?" Meera asked as she adjusted the pillows. Daniel shook his head while checking his cell phone. "I have a small interview at some sushi place." He hung his bag over his shoulder before walking towards the balcony. Meera followed him and gave him a back hug.
"You'll do well. I know." Daniel smiled at her words. He turned around to wrap his arms around her and give her a tight and assuring hug. Meera pulled away a little, raising herself on her toes, she planted a soft kiss on his lips. "Good luck."

"So I should introduce myself first." A middle aged man came to visit the entire Suri family. He was probably Mrs Suri's age. He stood up and bowed respectfully before standing straight.
"My name is Ong SangKyu. The OG enterprise is owned by me."
Now it was enough for Meera to know why that man was at her place. He was Seungwoo's father. He probably came to bargain something. The reason that boy has a sick mentality was because he was spoiled. Way too spoiled. He had been given everything he wanted by his parents, especially his mother. She was sensitive for him. She called it her 'motherly love' but then too much of everything is bad.
"I don't want to be rude but you're here because?" Mr Suri asked all calm and collected. Not for long.
"I came with a marriage proposal for Miss Meera. My son Seungwoo is in your daughter's class. He likes her a lot so I'm here to ask for her hand."
Mr Suri curled his fingers in a tight fists. He was not patient enough to listen to everything that his uninvited guest had to offer. "Get out." Thats all he said. But it looked as if Mr Ong was taking his patience lightly. He stayed at his place. "I'm ready to merge my business with yours or even better, I can have my upcoming project in your daughter's name. What do you think?" He himself was feeling bad for coming there but then his wife wouldn't eat till he comes home with a good news. Mrs Ong created a ruckus in her home, smashing things here and there to emotionally persuade her husband to go To Suris and ask for Meera. All that because she couldn't bear to see her son all depressed and crazy.
"You sure want me to call the police right?" Mr Suri couldn't handle this anymore. He took out his phone, ready to dial the emergency number but the next second he stopped. Mr Ong was on his knees and bowed head. "Please Mr Suri. I'm doing this for my son's happiness. He really likes your daughter. He cannot live without her. I'm here as a desperate father who wants to see his son happy."
Mrs Suri didn't like it. She surely was against the idea of her daughter getting married at a young age but seeing a parent cry in front of her weakened her heart. "Mr Ong. Please be seated. Let's talk about it." Mr Suri glared at his wife. He knew that Seungwoo was obsessed with their daughter. Meera told them everything after the incident at the school, she did leave out her secret relationship part.
"Our daughter is still young to get married. We want a bright and successful future for her. She has a lot of potential in her and we as parents want the best for her. Seeing her realising her potential and working as an independent woman is what we want to see in the near future. So getting her married before twenty six or twenty seven is not acceptable to us." Mrs Suri said each and every thing that she wanted to say to him. She sighed in the end looking at her husband. Fortunately he was calmed down a bit.
Meera just sat on one of the seats, a bit scared and afraid. She was scared about her relationship with Daniel. Her parents are really conservative. They wouldn't like that idea of her dating. She was just praying to Gods, not wanting her secret to be revealed.
"They can get engaged for the time being and then get married later. Right?" The guest said with a ray of hope in his eyes.
"No Mr Ong. Your son is crazy! He is obsessed over my daughter! Can't you see that?!" Mr Suri shouted and banged his hand on the armrest. He was calmed but then seeing the other man so blind and ignorant for his son angered him. "You should get him treated before it's too late." Mr Ong was broken inside. He could see his family crying in front of his eyes. Hearing someone comment about your child's mentality like that is definitely going to upset any parent. The guest stood up and started walking towards the door. He turned back for a brief moment.
Mr Suri. I hope you go through what I'm feeling right now. I hope you cry for your daughter like I'm crying for my son. You'll feel the pain too.

Meera was back in her room. She lied on her bed thinking about the incident that took place a few minutes ago. Her parents asked her to tell them of Seungwoo ever approaches her again. They were scared for their daughter's safety. And Meera was scared for her relationship with Daniel.
After dinner she again lied on her bed thinking about random things till Daniel knocked on the balcony door. He had a huge smile on his face. The moment the door opened he picked her up by wrapping his arms around her waist and then swirling her around in excitement. Meera went with the flow pushing away all her negative thoughts at the back of her mind. She laughed with him and hugged him back when she was on her feet. "What happened?" She asked a little breathless from a sudden hug and swing. He again hugged her.
"I got another another part time." Even though the pay will be less, he was still happy. At least he could pay back some amount to the loan sharks. Meera was happy for him. Seeing him all smiley and happy made her day. She kissed his cheek and moved away before the things get heated. They both cuddled on her bed where they talked about his part time.
"Sushi King. It's a Japanese eating place and it opened recently so not many people know about it. I'm the only worker there except for the couple who owns the place and cook the dishes. So basically I'm the employee in charge of everything." He said all excited and proud. He was all ready to work. "But school?"
"I'm thinking of dropping out. I can use that fee amount for other important purposes. And it's not like I'm good at it so thinking about scholarship is out of options." He chuckled to cover up his sadness. Meera turned to face him and raised her hand to massage his nape. He closed his eyes all relaxed and calm. "Just Tell me if it's too much."
"I'll handle it." He snuggled closer to her touch like a puppy. She giggled at his behaviour. His eyes opened hearing her laugh.
They both just stared into each other's eyes. Not a sound left their lips. Her hands continued to move up and down his nape to soothe his tense nerves as they looked at each other. The comfortable silence around them made the moment more romantic and meaningful. Just the light sounds from the outside and their own heartbeats; things were perfect for them. Her eyes were focused on his dark mole under his right eye. One of her hands went to it and touched that part. "I have always admired this mole." Then his hand went from her back to her left cheek, his finger grazing over her small mole. "This is pretty."
Moments later he wrapped and arm around her to pull her closer. "Now you tell me what's wrong. I'm not that dense." Am I that readable? Meera thought. After sighing loudly she told Daniel about Mr Ong's visit. She saw how Daniel's fingers clenched in anger. He closed his eyes while gritting his teeth. "I want to kill that bastard." He said referring to Seungwoo.
"Is that all?" He asked seeing his girl avoiding his stare. She then looked back into his eyes. "I'm just scared about this relationship." He immediately held her cheek protectively from the exposed side. "Why?" His voice went octave lower.
"I'm scared knowing that my parents won't accept you." His eyes dropped at her statement. "They have no reason to accept me in the first place." He said and pressed his lips in a thin line. It was true. His family was messed up, he was dropping out of school, he worked part time at a garage and a Sushi place with no permanent place to live; her parents wouldn't even consider him even if she begs. Meera moved forward and hugged him. His face was against his chest as she wrapped her arms around his head and shoulders. Daniel also adjusted his position so that they could lie comfortably. He naturally rested his head on her breasts.
"But I'll fight for you." He said softly. His hands smoothly crawled to her back as his fingers stroked that area gently.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
.
.
.
"No!"
Seungwoo threw a chair across the room. He pulled his hair in frustration as his eyes widened in disbelief. "But she loves me! She can't do that!" He has gone crazy when his father told him that Mr Suri rejected their marriage proposal. "I know." Suddenly his eyes widened in sudden realisation. "Maybe he needs more money! Give them all they want! All this is useless without her!" He kicked the table as it fell on the opposite side. The glass shattered on the floor dangerously close to his parents.
Mrs Ong eyed her husband with her tears eyes. She couldn't see her son like that. Her brain was busy thinking of something which would calm her son. "Seungwoo-ah~" She chuckled a little as if everything was a joke. "Son don't worry. Your father is just joking. Right honey?" She looked at her husband as she discreetly elbowed him. He rapidly nodded going with the flow.
"So he accepted the offer?" Seungwoo asked with hope. His glow was back which eased the mother. "Of course. How can they refuse my handsome son?" She went to him and playfully tapped his cheek. "But on one condition." She continued halting Seungwoo's smile.
"You know they love their daughter a lot right? So they want a responsible man who is capable of treating their daughter like a queen. And for that you need to study abroad." She explained her plan. Seungwoo did not like that idea. "But then I'll be away from her!" He whined.
"But after that you'll be with her. Forever."
"F-forever?"
"Yes."
I told you Meera! You'll be mine!
