It was late evening. Meera stayed at her place and waited for Daniel to come home. She was still scared about his reaction to her working part time. She never expected him to burst out like that. Her hands held the hem of her blouse, her fingers playing with a few threads that were now beginning to loosen. She sighed and again looked at the door. Not being able to wait anymore, she went to the terrace which was attached to their rooftop room. She leaned against the high railings and looked at Sushi King.

She saw people going in and out of the place. A part of her was happy that the place was doing well. The night breeze relaxed her as she closed her eyes feeling the cool air hit her gently. The dark sky was pretty and the tinkling stars made it appear prettier. Her phone buzzed, bringing her to reality. She quickly turned to her side and picked up the phone kept on the small rack beside her. With a smile she swiped the screen open.

Reminder: Medicine

Her smile faltered seeing that it was just a reminder and not a message from Daniel. She went inside and took her medicines. "I'll just cook dinner for us." She said to herself while looking for the ingredients. Vegetable Stew with rice. It was easy to make and it didn't take much time. She looked at the time once again before cooking. She played some soft songs on her phone and cooked the meal with a smile on her face. It will be alright. He won't be mad at me for a long time. He needs some time and space to clear his mind. I'll wait..

"Done.."

Meera sighed in relief and smiled seeing the table prepared by her. It was something which she wasn't used to doing. She went out to get some pickles from the terrace. Big jars were kept at one corner of the terrace which had all sorts of pickles and other essentials. The landlady, when she knew about Meera's pregnancy, offered them to have the pickles whenever she wanted. The lady even prepared herbal tonic for her morning sickness. It wasn't that effective but she definitely felt better after drinking it.

Her phone buzzed again and she picked it up with a hope to see him again.

Daniel: I'm going to the garage now. I might be late. Don't wait for me and sleep. I love you.

Meera had a smile on her face. It was normal for him to go to the garage after working at Sushi King, but the end of the message made her happy. She was glad that he wasn't mad. She was about to reply when another message came from him.

Daniel: make sure to eat a lot! If you want something then tell me. I'll buy it on my way back. Love you

Meera: I'm okay. Get back soon. Waiting.. :)

She kept the phone aside and started eating with a light heart. After cleaning up and taking a quick shower, she made herself comfortable on the bed and closed her eyes to sleep.

It was dark. I looked around but couldn't see anything. With slow and hesitant steps I walked in a random direction. The beating of my heart picked up its pace when I saw a faint outline of a small figure at the end of the hallways which came in my view. The paintings hung on the wall had drops of blood on them. A sick feeling grew in my throat. I shook my head and walked to the figure. But it walked backwards avoiding me. I wanted to say something but it felt as if I lost my voice. As I came closer to the figure, I could make out that it was a little girl. She had long hair and a mole on her right cheek, just like me.

She was crying. She looked at me with eyes full of hate. Her eyes held so much pain that it hurt my heart.

"Ssh.. it's okay. I'm here." Meera looked up and saw Daniel through her teary eyes. Her eyelashes were wet. She looked around and saw Daniel hugging her tightly as his hands rubbed her back. The realisation hit her and she remembered the dream she just had. She hugged Daniel with her trembling arms. He pecked the top of her head multiple times. He didn't ask her about the dream. He wanted her to sleep well. When he returned, he saw her shivering and crying in her sleep. He quickly got in the end to comfort her. What was she dreaming for her to cry like that? He found it strange.

Meera's mind was messed up. Was it an intuition? Her heart hammered inside her chest thinking that her own child might hate her. She cried more and pulled Daniel's body closer. The boy grew worried for her. "It's okay. It's just a nightmare." After she calmed down, he then pulled away to wipe her tears. "Everything will be okay right?" She asked scared thinking about the dream. "Of course. We are together and that matters. Things happen for a reason. Don't worry." He again kissed her head and she closed her eyes feeling him around her.

"I'm sorry for shouting at you in the morning. I just don't want you to work and tire yourself. You do know that you have some complications right? Please just rest and eat healthily. I don't want anything more. Please just listen to me."

"But you work all the time. I don't like to see you exhaust yourself. I don't like eating knowing that you're probably starving yourself. I worry about you too."

Meera cupped his cheeks and looked into his eyes. She could see his dark circles. The last thing she wanted to see were his hollow and sunken cheeks. She leaned forward and placed kisses on all over his face turning his frown into a smile. He tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear and pulled her closer.

"You can work at the counter of Sushi King. Mr Jung is looking for someone for the work. You can do it. That way I can see you all the time and not worry about you, thinking whether you've eaten or not, taken medicines or not. I can be at ease too."

Meera's eyes lit up. "Really?"

Daniel nodded and hugged her tight. "Now sleep. You need to rest or else I won't let you work even there."

"Is her condition better?"

Jungkook casually leaned back against the chair as he asked Dr Song. He looked unbothered but he his heart was anxious. He wanted to hear something good about her health. Dr Song nodded as a reply to his question. "She is doing better but there might be problems in the later stages of her pregnancy. She needs to take extra care of herself." It wasn't anything new to her. Jungkook would come from time to time to know about Meera's health.

Jungkook scrolled through his phone to see pictures of Meera. He had his couple of men to track Meera's whereabouts. He wanted to know if she was doing well or not. Or just in case of an emergency. What if something happens when she is alone.. he didn't want to take any chances.

"Thank you Noona. It means a lot to me. I owe you." He smiled in gratitude and left the hospital. He drove back to his house.

Jungkook was walking towards his room when he decided to meet Namjoon. He wanted to talk about the upcoming match. With long strides he reached his brother's study and held the doorknob to open the door. But the voice inside stopped him.

"I'll look for a way. It won't be hard to find."

Namjoon was talking to someone on phone. "Daniel's weakness is Meera. We hurt her and he won't be able to take it well."

"Yes. I've planned it all. It might take a few months though. I need to find those people. But it will be successful. Mark my words."

Jungkook stood frozen in front of the door. His mind went in all sorts of directions as worst possible scenarios filled his mind. He knew that his brother was capable of doing everything. If he was planning to destroy Daniel then he would and that too without a blink. He shook his head and took deep breaths to calm himself. First he left the place and quickly reached his room. It would've been troublesome if Namjoon had caught him eves dropping. He sat on his bed and thought about ..

what should I think? How to save her? But then hyung.. should I tell someone? Jin hyung would help me. No.. Tae hyung could help me more in this anger. He knows Namjoon hyung better.

With one swift move he took out his phone and called Taehyung. But the latter didn't pick up. So Jungkook sent him a TXT asking to meet up. He drove to the building where Taehyung worked and waited in his cabin. Jungkook impatiently tapped his foot on the expensive marble floor, waiting for his hyung. He waited for over two hours..

"Spill."

That's the only word Taehyung said as he entered his own cabin. He elegantly sat on his big leather couch and asked his secretary to leave them alone. He raised his eyebrows at the younger Male asking him to say what he wanted to. Jungkook leaned forward eagerly.

"Namjoon hyung is planning something against Meera." He said. He already knew that Taehyung knew about his feelings for the girl so he didn't hesitate to show his concern. But just like he expected, Taehyung didn't care. He shrugged his shoulders in reply. "It doesn't concern me." He then stood up to leave. He picked up his coat and left the room without sparing another glance to Jungkook. When he reached the door, he stopped for a moment and turned back.

"Why are you sending my employees to eat Sushi?"

"Hyung-"

"And why did you use the company card for that?"

"I had-"

"You better don't get on my nerves Jungkook."

With that he finally left, causing Jungkook to sigh in both relief and worry. Taehyung looked mean and rude but he cared for Jungkook, even though they were half brothers. He was worried for him. He didn't want him to have a broken heart. He wanted him to meet someone who will love him and take care of him. He sighed and rested his against the nearby wall.

Don't make the same mistake Jungkook. I don't want you to suffer like I did. I'm still suffering. Please bother, forget about her.

"You didn't have to bring so much."

Meera said as her eyes looked at the big baskets filled with fruits. She smiled in gratitude. It was really lovely of them to bring it.

"Aye~ We should've done something more." Soyou said and leaned forward to pat the girl's head. The maids decided to pay her a visit. A lot of things were going on when another family shifted in the house where Meera used to live. "Their kids are really messy. The whole house would be clean but the moment you step in their rooms it feels as if it was hit by a tornado. I can't even see the floor with all the trash on it." Dasom complained as she rubbed her temples in frustration.

"I really miss having your around." Meera said. She looked down at her lap and fiddled with her fingers. Hyolyn moved close to her and gave her a side hug making the girl rest her head on her shoulder. "Hey. Cheer up. We'll visit you more often now. You just take care of her health." Bora said and reached for the girl's hand.

"Here is your order. Enjoy your meal."

Daniel placed the dishes on the table with a smile on her face. He could see how relaxed Meera looked having the maids around her. "You take care of yourself too Daniel." Bora continued and he smiled in reply. His eyes softened at the sight. After making sure that they didn't need anything, he went back to work. The girls talked among themselves and laughed out loud, enjoying the random jokes. The lunch was light hearted.

"We'll leave now." Dasom came forward and hugged Meera. Others did the same and hugged her one by one. "Come again!" Meera waved at them as they left.

"You're happy?" Daniel took her by surprise and hugged her from the back. With a peck on her head, he gently swayed their bodies side to side as they both had big smiles plastered on their faces. Meera closed her eyes feeling the familiar strong arms holding her in a protective and loving manner. They both were at peace. They were content.

"Im very happy."

But happiness doesn't last long..
