"Daniel.."

Meera shook Daniel's sleeping body. The man groaned in his sleep and turned to the other side to sleep. "Daniel.." She again tried to shake him as hard as possible. Finally he groaned in his sleep and let out a small 'hmm'. Meera knew that he was still asleep and wouldn't listen to her properly. So she leaned forward and started giving him feather light kisses on his neck while tightly holding onto his shirt. She let out a few moans and parted her lips in between to swirl her tongue across his skin.

"Daniel..." she whimpered lowly with her grip tightening around his shirt. But he still didn't wake up fully. In the end she moved back and stood up herself. It was difficult to stand on her own but with a few groans she succeeded. It felt like an achievement with her bloated stomach. She smiled and pat her tummy. "I'll buy ice creams for us. We don't need your father for it." She huffed in annoyance while walking towards the gate.

The loud creaking of the door made Daniel stir in his sleep. He finally realised that Meera was going out, alone, in the middle of the night. He immediately sat straight and looked at her leaving. "Meera.." he called for her but she ignored him and closed the door behind her. Daniel quickly got on his feet to follow her. The idea of her stepping down the steep stairs alone washed away all his sleep. He ran to the stairs to see her standing just three steps down. He immediately held her hand to secure her at one place.

"Wait. I'll go."

Meera didn't say anything. She tried to step down one more time but Daniel pulled her back carefully. "Come here." She finally walked back inside the house with him.

"Chocolate ice cream or some other flavour?" He asked while taking his wallet. He was still sleepy. He had dark circles under his eyes and Meera felt bad for waking him up. She knew that he had been working a lot for her and the baby, and here she was being selfish. She blamed her hormones for it. Not wanting to tire him more she simply hugged him.

"Just go to sleep. I'll eat something else." She pecked his cheek urging him to sleep but he shook his head and then cupped her cheeks. "Hey it's okay. It's the least I could do for you. You are carrying another life inside you, what you're going through is much more difficult than going out to buy ice creams... at midnight?" His voice trailed off as he let out a yawn. Then he smiled at the end warming up Meera's heart and to cover up his yawn.

"I'll be back in a few minutes."

Daniel picked up his jacket and walked to the gate but Meera held his wrist to stop him. She gave him her puppy eyes. "Take me with you. I really haven't walked all day. Please." She was craving for ice creams on a winter night. Daniel wanted to object but he could see the desperation on her face. She was tired of staying inside her room all day long. Now that she is in her eighth month, she stopped working at the Sushi King.

"Okay. But you have to walk slow." She rapidly nodded. Daniel picked up another jacket and a muffler to cover Meera properly. When he was satisfied seeing her bundled up in his clothes he held her hand and led her down the stairs.

Meera held his arm as they both walked to the convenient store. Suddenly a small snowflake landed on her nose making her sneeze loudly. "Achhoo- Oh my back!" She felt a sudden pain in her back after sneezing. Daniel gently rubbed the aching spot. "I told you to be careful!" He scolded her like usual. His worried faded away seeing a teasing smile on her face. She gently hugged him and rested her head against his chest. Daniel smiled and wrapped his arms to cover her fully. Meera then pulled away with her hands on his waist. She looked him in the eye while biting her lips.

Kiss me Daniel.

Daniel's hands went from her shoulder to cup her cheeks. He slowly leaned forward and placed his lips on hers. They slowly moved their lips savouring each other. Daniel gently titled his head, deepening the kiss to taste her fully. Even after years of their relationship they still cherished each and every moment they spent together. The snow was falling around them as they hugged each other, forgetting about all their worries.

Daniel stuck out his tongue to outline her lips. Meera moaned in satisfaction and tightened her grip on his waist. They both slowly pulled away and let their foreheads touch. The moment was so beautiful that they didn't want it to end.  The big smiles on their faces reflected their true feelings. No matter what happens they will be together, forever.

"Daniel.." she said softly as her breath fanned his lips. He 'hmmd' in reply with his eyes closed. "The baby needs ice cream.." Daniel ended up chuckling. He fully moved back and held her hand with a bit smile on his face with his teeth on full display.

"Okay my Queen. Anything for you and the baby."

They both continued their walk to the convenience store and bought their ice creams. It was really odd for the cashier to see a couple eating ice cream at this hour and weather but Meera's big stomach was an excuse and an answer to everything. The couple sat on a bench in a park and ate their ice creams with a peaceful silence of a winter night.

"Aren't you curious to know? If we'll have a boy or a girl?" Daniel asked. He was dying to know the gender of the baby. He wanted to plan everything beforehand. They have only bought gender neutral clothes so far. He wanted to do more.

"Well.. I'm curious.." Meera replied while looking down at her ice cream, ".. but the excitement to know the gender when the baby is born will be different.. I want to experience that.." she smiled looking at a swing which was a few meters away. Daniel looked at the same swing following her gaze. They were imagining themselves playing with their kid on that very swing.

"I really want a girl..." Meera said. She had an inkling that she was carrying a girl in her womb. "A girl who will remind you of me.." her gaze dropped down to her belly as Daniel caressed it.

"I just want the baby to be healthy. I know I can't provide this baby with all the things .." his voice trailed of with a hint of sadness, "that's why I want to give this baby all the love in this world. I want to be a great father. I want to be strong so that both of you could rely on me without a hesitation."

Meera rested her hand on top of his. "You will be a great father. I'm just worried that you will spoil this baby with too much love." She joked lifting the emotional atmosphere. She didn't want to cry while eating the ice cream in the snow. The moment was beautiful and she didn't want to ruin it with crying, because if she started crying, she won't stop.

Daniel let out a soft laugh at her comment. "Of course I want to spoil my princess. Even if she grows up and- wait!" He suddenly stop with a look of realisation on his face as if he suddenly remembered that he didn't turn the stove off while leaving the house.

"What? Didn't you lock the house?" She mocked his state. There wasn't anything precious in that small room so why would he get alarmed all of a sudden.

"Oh my god..." he said and shook his head. "I won't allow it. Never. Over my dead body." He shook his head again not minding that his ice cream was on he verge of falling on his sweatpants.

"Daniel you're scaring me. You better tell me if you don't want to sleep in the open terrace in this weather."

He then finally looked at Meera with a serious face he could ever make. "I won't allow any other boy to come near my daughter. She will not date before she turns 30 and she will marry the man of my choice. Wait. Scratch that. I won't let her marry anyone. I'll spoil her all my life. It's decided and you don't have a say in this."

Meera just blinked as Daniel waited for her to say something. She was simply shocked. Their child isn't even born yet and he is already set to control their baby's love life. A part of her wanted to laugh at his protectiveness but the other part wanted to smack his head. And she did.

"Ow!"

"You're so stupid Daniel. My baby can love anyone she wants. And don't you dare control my baby like this or else you won't get to TouchMe for the rest of your life."

"But-"

"Uh Uh! No buts. You better be supportive if you don't want her to end up like me."

Meera didn't even realise the words she spoke. Her heart clenched when those words left her lips. Daniel bit his lips not knowing what to reply. Guilt made its way in both their hearts.

"I didn't mean it like that-"

Meera tried to defend herself but Daniel shook his head. "I understand." He was about to stand up but Meera held his wrist asking him to sit back.

"No you don't. I'm happy with you. And you know that. I would go through this again for you Daniel. I love you so much. I just wanted my parents to support our relationship. I miss them. I'm going to be a mother soon but they are not next to me. My mother is not here to give me advices. My father is not here to pamper me. I just don't want my baby to be alone. I want to be there for her. I want us to be with her all the time to support her so that she doesn't feel alone. I'm sorry if-"

Daniel immediately hugged her. He could see that she could cry any moment. He didn't mean it literally when he mentioned to be protective of his daughter. It was a father like thought to protect his daughter from a heartbreak. He knew that Meera's hormones were messed up at the moment. She would snap at little things or get horny all of a sudden. He should've been more careful with his words.

"Ssh baby. It's okay. Don't cry. I know what you meant. I love you a lot. Hmm? Stop crying." He gently caressed her hair to comfort her. She ended up shedding a few tears. But after hearing his words she collected herself. Daniel cupped her face and wiped her tears with his thumbs.

"You look puffy." He made an attempt to make her smile but..

"I know I'm gaining weight. Don't make fun of me. I eat for our baby."

Her little angry pout was tempting. Daniel quickly pecked her lips taking her by surprise. "I'm more mad than that." She commented with a bigger pout wanting another kiss. He leaned in more to capture her lips fully. He skilfully slid his tongue in her mouth tasting her chocolate ice cream. She gripped his shirt in her fists trying to pull him in more to deepen the kiss. The heat was burning their insides.

"Oh who do we have here.."

A mocking voice caught their attention. The couple pulled away only to come face to face with the loan sharks.

Daniel stood up to stand in front of Meera. He was scared to see them at that hour. And the most nerve wracking part was that Jiyong was not with them. It was only Seungri and Top.

"Why are you here?" Daniel asked trying to be strong. His fists clenched by his sides. Seungri smirked and tilted his head to look behind Daniel.

"Oh wow. You got her pregnant? Why didn't you tell us?" Seungri's voice held an unknown amusement and it was enough to shake Daniel's heart. He remembered how he eyed Meera and asked for her as if she were a prostitute. He was mad but more than that he was scared. Even Jiyong wasn't here to control his minions. They were on their own, like wild  and hungry wolves without their leader.

Meera was trembling. She hesitantly held the sleeve of Daniel's shirt to catch his attention. But before he could turn to look at her, his body froze at his next words.

"I told you back then.. right Daniel? That I would have her on my bed.. I'm just here to fulfil my promise."
