Your POV:

"What?" He said confused.

I sighed sighed. "Before your modem came Elijah Kamski and I..along with another engineer..were..secretly working on a model far more advance than the others. We called it RA9. We didn't have a clear goal we were just being ambitious... We wanted to see how far we could take artificial intelligence." I started.

Flashback:

The androids began to open his eyes and  I panicked. "Kamski! He's opening his eyes! He's awake!He's awake!" I said running towards Kamski.

"I see that..don't be a shy little nerd go speak to him!" He told me.

"Why me?" I questioned.

"Because I have to monitor his brain activity... Now go!"

I huffed. "Fine!"  I walked over to the  android and smiled. "Hello my name is (Y/n) do you know where you are?" I asked

"Cyberlife laboratory." He said.

"Correct, Do you know who you are?" I questioned.

"I am...RA9."

"Well I know that," I said giggling. "But don't you want a name? Like Jesse...or  Daniel...something you go by."

"Markus.." He said quietly.

I turned to Kamski with a smile. "I told you he looked like a Markus....you owe me 300," I said smirking he rolled his eyes. "Markus is a nice name."

"(Y/n) is a very beautiful name." Markus said.

I gawked and blushed. "Thank you Markus you're too kind."

"Looks like the new android is already falling in love." Kamski teased.

"Shut up Kamski," I muttered.

"No...come look at the activity..."  He said.

"Pardon me Markus," I say before walking over to Kamski.

"Look this is where his emotions are being controlled."

"Fucking hell...he's alive." I mutter.

"Well no shit," Elijah said.

"I am right here y'know," Markus said.

"Sorry," I apologized walking over to him. "The examination table isn't the most comfortable things in the world. You can't sit up if you want....walk if you feel able to." I say.

"(Y/n)...I may have been born today but I'm not handicapped." Markus said smiling.

"Right,Sorry." I apologized.

"You were perfect you didn't have to eat. You communicated with Kamski and I like you were human. You could sleep and dream and feel both emotionally and physically. When our colleagues came in and saw you they were intrigued. We thought we were doing something amazing. We were innovating Androids way ahead of time we were gonna do more test and possibly release a new series of androids. But the more we did the more...human you would behave."

2 months later.

"Hello Markus," I said walking into the lab.

"Hi (Y/n), you look lovely as always," Markus told me.

"Thank you Markus. How are you feeling?"

"Irritated slightly." He admitted.

"Why is that?" I asked.

"I enjoy our time together however I don't enjoy the constant tests,"

"Markus in understand these test are irritable but they are necessary soon we will release you I promise." I say smiling.

"Once I am released..can I come with you?" Markus asked.

"Markus...you could go anywhere you wanted why with me?" I asked.

"Because I....love you...." He confessed.

I didn't know how to react to this.

"Can we not test today? Can we relax for once?" He sighed.

"Sure..." I say as we sat at a table he sat right beside me. "What do you want to talk about Markus?"

"Why did you create me?"

"We wanted to know how far we could advanced and we have advanced pretty far. I mean look at you...you're a beautiful creation." I admit.

The questions that he asked were what anyone would could consider normal. Then he asked a questioned that shocked me.

"Do you believe me when I say I love you?"

"Markus...I'm not even sure if loving is truly in your programming."

"If I can show you I know how to love would you let me?" He said leaning foward and I began to breathe heavy. My mind was racing. "Please?" He said quietly.

Next thing I know his lips  on mine.

"I thought nothing of it because I fell for you. I saw no problem with it but in time you became a bit possessive and very aggressive to those who weren't me or Kamski."

"(Y/n)..he won't comply.." One of my colleagues told me. "And he's responding. aggressively. He told me if I didn't let him see you he would break my neck."

"He..didn't mean that..I'll go talk to him." I say running into his room. He looked like a beaten puppy sitting in the middle of them floor.

"(Y/n)...I don't want them testing me..only you.." He said crying

I sat in front of him. "Markus I have work I can't be with you all the time. Honey."

"Why..not?" He asked aggressively.

"Because I have other things to do and you can't threaten those men."

"They aren't good people (Y/n) they aren't nice like you. They force the test on me."  He whimpered.

I laid his head on my shoulder. "I know..they aren't like me...they are just doing they're job. They don't understand you like I do."

"Take me away from here please...I want to be free." He begged.

"One day I promise you will be but you can't react violently."

"You complied most the time but one day you snapped completely and I couldn't calm you down." I said crying.

"(Y/n) he's gone berserk!"

I ran to his room he was throwing things.

"Markus stop!" I yell.

He turned to me. "You're lying to me..." He said walking towards me. "You promised me I would be free." 

"Markus you will be." I said quietly.

"You're lying to keep me docile," he growled before slapping me. I fell to the floor. He looked down at me and suddenly looked as if he regret it.

"I hurt you?" Markus questioned.

"Markus you were blinded by a pent up anger the minute you realized what you had done you were very upset with yourself. I forgave you. But the corporation couldn't. So they ordered me to decommission you immediately and you were not to be spoken of." I said with tears going down my face.

Today was a day I dreaded most. I walked into the room. Markus was strapped to the table.
I had tear streaks going down my cheeks.

"Hello Markus." I said quietly.

"(Y/n)? Why are they making you do this? Why couldn't it have been someone else?" He asked

"Because I'm the on that created you..you were my responsibility." I said crying.

"This is it...this is where I end."

"Markus...I promise you..this isn't your end. One day it'll bring you back. But...you won't remember me or anything about this OK?"

"You'll make me better?"

"I won't have to...you'll already be better." I said kissing his forehead before opening his panel

"(Y/n)?" He questioned.

"Yes Markus."

"I love you."

"I love you too." I said for the first time crying. Before I shut him down. His eyes shut and I fell to the ground crying.

"But a year later they were releasing the RK200 innovated and improved. I decided to bring you back..I erased your memory completely."

"Run self-diagnostic test," I say to the new Markus without looking at him.

"Test complete." He said.

"He's good Kamski," I told Elijah.

"Are you OK?" Elijah asked.

"I'm just fine,"

"I remember what happened between-"

"We aren't to speak of it."  I say.

"I just want to make sure you're mentally OK with recreating Markus."

"It's been a year I'm over it." I say writing the result from the diagnostics.

"You could keep him."

"I'm not keeping an android, He's done now call in the guys to take him."

"At that time. I was over it. I was trying to move on years later.I quit cyberlife and persued photography. I moved into mansion and well you know the rest My pont is Markus. When I say you're special I mean that. No matter how many times people shut you down or hurt you...you come back. Always and you will always come back and find me." I say wiping my eyes and smiling. "You were made to survive and lead."

"So..people got the story wrong when they said RA9 was the first to akwaken?" Markus questioned.

I nodded. "RA9 was awake the whole time." I said smiling. "I hope that it gives you a new found confidence that you didn't know you had." I say kissing his forehead before getting up from the couch. He grabbed my hand and pulled me into his lap and kissed me.

"I always wondered why your lips felt familiar when I first kissed you." He said nuzzling my neck. "Thank you for telling  me." He said before letting me go.

"I do whatever I can to help you." I say leaving.

Markus's POV:

I went back to the secluded area where the meeting was held and waited for the hunter knowing he just wanted to get me alone.

"I've been ordered to take you in alive." He said forcefully as he points the gun at me "But I won't hesitate to shoot if you give me no choice."

"What are you doing?" I asked slowly walking towards him. "You are one of us..you can't betray your own people.."

"You're coming with me!!" He yelled.

"You're Connor. Aren't you?" I questioned. "That famous deviant hunter. Well congratulations.. you seem to have found what you were looking for.  our cause is righteous and we are more than what they say.." I say as it continued my slow steps. "All we want is to live in freedom.. Do you never have any doubts?" I questioned. "You've never done anything irrational?..as if there's something inside you?something more than your program? Have you never wondered who you really are?  whether you're just a machine executing program. A living being capable of reason?  I think the time has come for you to ask yourself that question. it's time to decide."

I could see his internal conflict and I could understand because I went through the same process. He slowly put the gun down.

"They're going to attack Jericho," He said

"What!?" I questioned.

We looked up to the disturbing noise.

"We gotta get outta here!" Connor said.

"Shit!" I said running with Connor.
